- sebastianwF4625PI0 contributionsGreat Tour in a very small groupThe tour was great. We meet the tour guide at the written meeting point on time. The tour is available in English, Spanish and French. As there were no other guests on that day we had a privat tour with the tour guide. Amazing! She showed us all the important places and gave us the information we needed to know. She also showed us small patios, e.g. one of the university of Cordoba. The highlight of the tour was the cathedral / mosque of Cordoba with unique views and very interesting insights of the history of this building. All in all a perfect tour which I warmly recommend.Written June 6, 2024
- nicolemU8533KR0 contributionsdefinitely book this guide!angel was a fantastic guide! we really loved the explanation/demonstration he gave before we went inside. there were so many things we would have never known without his guidance. highly recommend!Written May 18, 2024
- 953rosemaryw0 contributionsInconsistency across guidesOur tour was split across 2 guides - our second guide for the Cathedral-Mosque was superb. Very knowledgeable, answered all our questions and kept a reasonable pace. Our first guide was very different - there was a mix-up with our entry ticket time (not a big deal) but we just stood in the sun until we could enter. This mix-up also seemed to really frazzle our guide for the rest of the tour. She had interesting anecdotes but failed to pull everything together into one comprehensive story - it seemed like just random stories as we came upon things. Her facts seemed dubious at times (12 windows in the synagogue to represent the 12 tribes but there were 15 windows …) and her pronunciation made it very difficult to understand and follow (this wasn’t a Spanish accent - she would substitute consonants in words so you really had to pay attention, eg “Snape” to say snake) and often times simply didn’t know the English word (note this was sold as an English guided tour). Time management also seemed to be an issue - after the Alcazar some people asked to use the washroom and she was hesitant to let them go (but ultimately did) and then tried to rush them along. Once the group had reassembled, she rushed ahead without really waiting for everyone and was difficult to keep up. There was no other opportunity for a bathroom break or water break built in to the three hour tour - which makes me think if we hadn’t asked there would have been no break at all. Needs improvement.Written May 12, 2024

- johnandryn0 contributionsCordoba is essential part of a trip to Spain. It is a must see, if you love history, amazing architecture & great food!Cordoba has always been on my list of things that I must do. I wasn’t wrong. I was able to arrive on Sunday on the fast train from Madrid Atocha station in less than 2 hours. I stayed at the Amistad, a great small hotel in the old Jewish quarter of the City. Don’t miss the Mezquita, the Roman Bridge & generally wandering in the old part of the City. Don’t plan on visiting major sites on Monday as a lot of them are closed. Definitely worth the effort!Written May 10, 2024
- donaldf6730 contributionsGood tour of key sights in CordobaThis was a good quality tour with an excellent guide. We saw the key sights - although you don’t “skip the queue” at the Cathedral. A slight issue is that you have to wait at each sight as new people join the tour - so a bit of hanging about.Written May 1, 2024

- 928triciab0 contributionsNot wheelchair friendlyThe tour guide was wonderful. She was very knowledgeable and passionate about the sights. I picked this tour because I am in a wheelchair and it was supposed to be accessible. It is not! I ended up having to do quite a bit of walking due to the cobblestone walkways. I would have went with a different tour if I had known.Written March 31, 2024

- SARA F0 contributionsAmazing cityCity is amazing, Cordoba mosque is a must see. The tour guide was nice and knowledgable. We didn’t get to see the alcazar although we paid for this bit. Were told city council closed it for an event on the day without prior notice. Our tour was at 1300 on a Sunday!!! No partial refund was offered for missing this part of the tour.Written February 24, 2024
- gv10670 contributionsFeeling enriched by this experience! We spent almost four amazing hours with Paqui. We lucked out and there was just the two of us for the first part of the tour, joined by only two more people for the second half. One of the most informative tours we had in Andalusia!! Paqui combined her wealth of knowledge with humor, we didn’t even realize so much time passed by. We feel enriched by the experience! Muchas Gracias Paqui!!Written February 4, 2024

First of all, the tour took us to for locations: Alcazar de los Reyes Cristianos, Jewish Quarters, Synagogue (Sinagoga), and finally Mezquita/Catedral. My favorite were (1) and (4). (2) was interesting historically, but the (3) was closed when we visited, and we could not visit inside. Not a fault of the tour, but just that the construction was going on at the time.
I loved the tour, and more importantly, the guide. His name is Angel. Angel was passionate about what he does, patient, funny, and knowledgeable. He of course knew a lot about the area, and made the information interesting/funny. I asked a lot of questions related to the history, and he patiently answered many of them, sharing more information with everybody too.
I was a little wary before I booked because some reviews said they did not have headphones for the tour. That was not a problem for us at all. Angle gave headphones to everybody and took 2 extra in case somebody's headphones stopped working. That was a good backup. We were able to listen to him clearly throughout, except when I fell behind too much at times or in a different room in the castle. At that point, I would catch up and will be able to hear again.
He gave us a lot of short breaks (2 or 4 5-10 minutes breaks during the 3-4 hours we spent together). He was caring for the people: kept pointing out uneven steps and things to watch out for.
Overall, a great tour. Highly recommended.

Firstly, Cristina was a great guide, very knowledgeable and entertaining. We enjoyed her commentary. However, just like so many other reviewers experiences, our group started small and grew as the tour moved on through the sites. No head phones were issued until half way through the tour so sometimes difficult to hear Cristina.
The so called 'wine tasting' was a voucher for a small glass of local wine and a local gaspacho style soup, in an expensive looking restaurant where the staff didn't seem to pleased to see us.
I certainly would not have paid extra for a wine tasting if I had have known I was paying for a voucher at a restaurant.

Let me start by saying our guide Angel was excellent! Unfortunately, the tour company he works for is not providing the service that Viator advertises/sells. We paid a premium for a small group tour (fewer than 20). Initially, at the Alcazar, our group was 10 people and it was great! By the end of the tour our group had over 60 people. Like other reviews mention, at each stop the tour company added more people to our group. After the Alcazar we added 12 people bringing the group to 22 and the stop in the Synagogue lasted maybe 10 minutes. We were then taken to the Mosque (where we hoped to spend the most time) and were told we needed to wait 40 minutes before we could enter--this was where I thought we have the Wine and tapas included in the tour price--nope, nothing, we were instead told to go find drinks/snacks outside the Mosque courtyard while we waited. When we came back from the snack run at the designated time, they had added more people and our group size was now over 50 people.
I understand that we visited during Holy Week and tourists numbers are high, but don't charge your customers a premium for a "guaranteed small group, maximum 20" and then continually increase the tour size over the course of the morning to more than 5x the number of people we started with, utterly ridiculous! If you really want to see the sites and not be herded around Cordoba like cattle, you would be better off hiring a private tour guide. BTW no wine or tapas was ever provided.
