Our tailored six hour tour with Silvia was superb and enabled us to plunge deeply into both recent and distant history of Dresden, while enjoying the countryside and less hectic pace of smaller communities just beyond the major metropolitan area. Silvia's training and experience has equipped her to provide meaningful explanations of the unusual twists and turns of religious, political, socioeconomic and international forces that have collectively charted the path for this gem of a city on the Elbe.

Thank you so much! With pleasure I remember our great time together - and really having time to show you Dresden with its classic highlights and "off the beaten tracks"

You won't find a better guide to Dresden than Silvia Troester! At the recommendation of a friend, my husband and I hired Silva, a Dresden native who speaks excellent English (as well as several other languages), for a customized walking tour that would focus on the history, architecture and art of Dresden's historic city center. But as we had a driver and van to handle our transportation to and from Prague, we expanded our plans to include a delightful lunch in the courtyard of the Royal Castle with Silvia and then a drive outside the city to see the nouveaux villas of Dresden's industrialists and some castles and small villages along the Elba River -- it was the whole package! Silvia is so knowledgeable and interesting and is very finely attuned to what you want to do. While we had already worked out a general structure for our day over the Internet, "on the fly" we made decisions to focus on the buildings and the history and less so on the art in the museums. The walking is also manageable -- Dresden's historic center is very compact and Silvia set a pace that was mindful of our ages (70s and 80s). It was an enchanting day. So my message is that although a specific tour is being offered on Tripadvisor, if it doesn't meet your needs, contact Silvia to see what she can do for you. Our highest recommendation!

We met Silvia Troster at the train station in Dresden, we came from Berlin for the day, she was fantastic, in 2.5 hours she showed us the highlights of this beautiful city, we were so happy with her that we asked her for an additional hour which we used for a guided tour of the Dresden Royal Palace museum, it was excellent, her knowledge of history and art was impeccable , I recommend her highly, we really enjoyed our day there.

I had the pleasure of taking a customized five-hour walking tour with Silvia Tröster in late July 2019.
I had asked for a tour that would include the historic highlights of the city, but with a focus on the later years (from WW2, through the DDR-era, to the re-unification). Silvia was able to accommodate these requests to full extent. She came prepared with several photos and pictures so that we could compare Dresden of today with the city's past.
When it comes to the history of Dresden, Silvia is an expert! And she is great at sharing her knowledge. I can highly recommend her tours!

Dear Henrik, I really enjoyed this long tour with you and I am so grateful for your fantastic rating! Hope to see you again to show you Leipzig, Goerlitz, Meissen... there is a lot more great places in East Germany - real top secret gems!. And no "over-tourism" there. Not yet... Come and see!
