    Cool museum - high prices
This is a great museum and would be 5/5 if it weren’t for its hefty entrance price. There is real insight in to early German football and frank and sensitive explanations of how both the Nazis and the communists handled the game. There is plenty too for kids - and a lovely movie to watch on the history of the bundesliga.

    Great for football fans.
A worthwhile visit while in Dortmund. The museum is really interesting for football fans. Top floor dedicated to the national team and lower floor to the domestic clubs. Lots of interesting exhibits and nicely laid out. We didn’t realise that there was a lower level that was all about the Bundesliga teams and so had to rush this part. Would recommend 2 hours at least for a worthwhile visit.

    Great Museum
We went round on Saturday morning. Fantastic museum with loads of the displays in English as well as German. Lots about the 2024 Euros as well. Really enjoyed looking round and all the displays they have.

    Very central l ocation
This large museum is directly opposite the Central Station (Hauptbahnhof) in central Dortmund and is very easy to find. Entry price is EUR12 and there are family packages available too. Due to poor weather on the day of my visit I changed my mind and went back to the hotel, intending to return here another day.

    Superb
Having visited the (English) National Football Museum in Manchester a few months ago, I was interested to see what the German Football Museum would be like. I found it a very similar experience. The displays are in both German and English. If there was one criticism, it’s that although there was a small section on the East German national team, there was no information about club football in East Germany, which I would have been interested to learn more about. That aside, it was extremely interesting to learn more about the lighter and darker moments of German football’s history. Well worth a visit!

    Wonderful Exhibition of German Football
The museum is located across the road from the south exit of Dortmund Hbf. There is a vast array of exhibits relating to German football over the years. Lots of old shirts, boots, posters, programmes and other memorabilia on show. I liked the displays about the Miracle of Bern, when West Germany beat hot favourites Hungary 3-2 in the 1954 World Cup final despite conceding two early goals. The exhibits about the 1966 World Cup final made me smile, with the German angst over the goal that did not cross the line ! Lots of interesting information about the effect of the World Wars on German football especially the insidious influence of National Socialism. I liked the details about the inception of the East German league until the falling of the Berlin Wall. East Germany’s historic win over West Germany in the 1974 World Cup in Hamburg is well covered. I spent a really enjoyable couple of hours here and the admission price was €19.

A must for any football fan
Probably one of the best museums I've ever visited. If you love football and the history of football then you must visit here. You don't have to be German just an interest in football. I spent around 3 hours here and it was amazing.

A history lesson for any soccer fan
A little gem in the city of Dortmund. Had booked on line before arriving and walked into the place no problem. There are lockers down the stairs to the right of reception to put your belongings into not to be carting them around. A €1 coon will work the lockers and returned to you when you are finished. It’s a must fir any soccer fan going to Dortmund for a match esp my 14yr son he loved it, the history was amazing even if most was in German the collection it vast and there is English translations. Well worth a visit

Great emotional show - must see
The museum is a place for the bucket list. It creates a lot of great emotions. It is easy to reach just opposite of the main station. Pricing is really fair.

This was a last minute experience, we booked online and skipped the queue for tickets. Lockers in the museum are great and was very handy for us. Food is good too although queues for merchandise were very long and the same queue you have to pay for food so food gets cold quickly. Would definitely recommend though. Very interesting

I am from Scotland and look forward to the opening game of Euro2024 with Germany. Been to Dortmund a few times but my first visit to this museum. I have long been an admirer of German football both club and national level. Excellent experience from the 1st World Cup win in 1954 onwards. The 3D show was brilliant. Any football fan would greatly enjoy this experience.

A very modern museum, with a lot of interactive screens and more which makes you feel like you are living the atmosphere. I love that it was a side deidcated to female football which is amazing as well as a team. A lot of history and prizes and trophies.
There is also a 3d cinema with a short movie, which is umbelievable good created, but no english, or at least some subs.
At the end, there are a few games which lets you play small football games but no one to guide you for them. There are free to play for anyone at will.
There is also a cafe and a souvenir shop which i finded a little bit too expensive for an average football fan.
Overall a nice experience if you love football, even more enjoyable if you love Germany football.

As a diehard footy fan who was in Dortmund for a Borussia game it seemed rude not to visit the National Football Museum.
It is well worth the visit. Even as an Englishman, the exhibits are fascinating, from the minute you enter with the exhibit dedicated to the first German World Cup winning team of 1954 right the way through to the modern era , covering everything in between including the pre unification days.
The great names and great clubs are all covered with some fascinating artefacts and I cannot praise it highly enough. All the exhibits are described in German and English this making it easier to understand.
Really worth while visiting, but allow about an hour and a half.

I got the Skip-the Line tickets through Viator and I'm glad I did. We went to kill time before an 1800 UEFA EURO2024 match, so the area was quite busy and the line for tickets long. Conveniently located across from the Hauptbahnhof, it's a terrific museum! Kudos to the people who designed and curated it. Fantastic job capturing the history and accomplishments of German Fußball. I learned so much and my son was absolutely delighted with all the memorabilia, especially from the 2014 World Cup team. While it's just 2 floors, there's a lot to see and read and it was well worth our time. They have a good gift shop with a wide selection of items and a cafe which we did not use. I highly recommend a stop here if you are in Dortmund and love Fußball/soccer or just learning new things about where you are visiting.

If you love German football, then this is the place. It has 4 floors with lots of memorabilia, very informative - even for English speakers. Level one you can have a quick snack before you enjoy the museum which might takes you around 2-3 hours' time to enjoy - with additional time if you want to play mini football at the basement.
The museum shows German football history from national team and Bundesliga clubs - recommended for all football lovers.

This museum diserves a visit even if you are not a football fun! The tickets are cheap and the cafeteria-snacks worth the visit too! Be careful to buy your tickets in advance so you wont wait the long queue.
