About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- N1101TDjesseg0 contributionsBaden- Baden, Black Forest tourScenic and informative tour a definite MUST SEE TOUR. Not only for the history but for the beautiful scenery. From the historic mineral hot springs of Baden- Baden, to the scenic views of the wine vineyard and altitude views of the Black Forest (1000 feet above sea level). Also to get to the Black Forest you will travel on the famous Autobahn. If you’re lucky to get Willy as your guide you will have an even more enjoyable experience. If you can only afford one trip this is it. It’s an all day event, and it is slowly paced so it is suitable for all ages and physically fit levels. From the hiker to the older senior citizens this is a can’t miss tour. 5 stars.Written October 1, 2024
- 436heidio0 contributionsGreat tour! Our tour guide Alberto was amazing. He had that typical German seriousness but was very comedic about it. Our bus driver was also great. The tour itself was amazing, so glad to have done it! Absolutely stunning. The only thing I wished was that there was more time to explore around the town Heidelberg. We only had an hour and then you had to be back at the bus. However, that timing is dependent upon how long your group took to look around up at the actual castle and go through the pharmacy museum. I would heavily recommend this tour to anyone!!Written September 15, 2024
- Jazzmom120 contributionsStorybook villageThoroughly enjoyed this tour. Boris is an amazing tour guide who spent the time to get to know everyone on the tour. Rothenburg was storybook beautiful and a “must see” location that would have been difficult to get to without renting a car. The tour brought us right to the edge of the old town and walked us around the main sites before giving us time to explore on our own. Highly recommend. Great for solo women as I felt very safe in this environment.Written August 15, 2024
- Gregmiller760 contributionsTour canceled without notice! My wife & I signed up for this tour months in advance of our recent trip to Frankfurt. We received confirmation via email. We arrived at the arranged pick-up site only to be told by the guide for another trip (to Heidelberg), that, because we were the only ones who signed up, our tour had been cancelled! (There was no notification of any kind to confirm this). The guide told us that our only option was the Heidelberg trip, but that “it was better than spending the day in our hotel”! I appreciate that the tour company did refund the difference in cost between the tours, but canceling the original tour with no notice is no way to treat customers!Written August 6, 2024
- Leticia G0 contributionsAmazing!Amazing place! Loved the beautiful architecture, university culture, food and friendly atmosphere. Enjoyed the castle, shops, and delicious food. I would definitely recommend and I hope to return again in the near future.Written July 29, 2024
- Dametrvlr0 contributionsAvoidI will avoid this tour company moving forward. Our driver was incredibly disorganized. The van wasn't filled up with gas when the driver arrived, so we had to stop and do that. Then he also made us leave our tour early so we could stop and get gas "so it's filled up before we leave tomorrow" for the next tour. No parking was designated at the stops, so the driver had to waste time looking for a spot to park. He was also making a lot of borderline xenophobic jokes that made us very uncomfortableWritten July 5, 2024
- DANZSA0 contributionsHeidelberg and the CastleWilly was an excellent guide for this tour, we enjoyed the scenic drive, the interesting commentary along the way and the overview of Heidelberg given by Willy. There was enough free time to explore this beautiful village before heading to the castle to wonder around enjoy a magnificent of Heidelberg. Highly recommended.Written June 29, 2024
- VjollcaG10 contributionsGreat experiencePeter was very knowledgeable and nice. The tour was interesting and the castle and town were lovely. You tour the grounds of the castle and the town surrounding it.Written June 22, 2024
- Dametrvlr0 contributionsNot worth the money. This tour is very disorganized. The vehicle was not ready at time of pick up, our guide had to stop for gas. He also stopped 3 additional times, including to mail a personal letter. They do not have confirmed parking in Strasbourg or Baden Baden. You will spend upwards to 30 minutes looking for a place to park. The petite train in Strasbourg should not be offered, because the last thing I wanted to do after being in the car this long was immediately walk to a train, then get rushed right back to the van. No time to explore Strasbourg at all. Only 30 minutes were allotted in the Black Forest, most of the time is spent in Baden Baden. Even our tour guide didn't seem to enjoy this tour at all. He kept telling that it was "all driving" and repeated the same jokes over and over.Written June 20, 2024
- taishar20240 contributionsHistorical and Awe-inspiringThe castle was amazing, just like our tour guide, Boris!!! He was so knowledgeable and shared so much historical and statistical information that it was an experience we wouldn’t have enjoyed or learned so much without him.He was so accommodating and personable.Written May 28, 2024
- CinthyaD0 contributionsNice 1/2 day experienceIt was a beautiful 1/2 day on a Great self tour of the castle and the amazing gardens, with the entrance include audio guide in multiple languages, the castle and grounds are amazing and you have a Beautiful view of the town for great pictures.Written May 25, 2024
- Carl S0 contributionsNot up to TripAdvisor standardsThe van was late and not cleaned and ready (gas) for the day. It seemed this guide might be a last minute arrangement. He seemed to have his presentation and did not address questions well. This was the worst and last TA tour we have taken. One other TA tour on this trip was first class all the way. This tour was too expensive to have an experience like this.Written May 21, 2024
- emcat10 contributionsGreat experienceLots of history, explain with an excellent tour guide. Great views of the city make sure you book the Funicula to go up the mountain for another two stops gives you a very beautiful view of the surrounding areas! You can grab something to buy have a drink just enjoy the absolute beauty you’re in!Written May 14, 2024
- Stephanie H0 contributionsNot worth the costThis was an incredibly long trip that needs to be thought through by the tour operator. There were no meals included and the only opportunity we had to get something to eat was at a gas station. The road to the Black Forest was closed, so we didn't even have the opportunity to have any Black Forest Cake. We walked through Baden-Baden, but there wasn't any time given to shop or eat. Strasbourg was very nice, although we had very high winds. I would recommend just taking the train into Strasbourg for the day. Go on the little train that takes you around the city. Our guide/driver Willi was very nice, but he is a very aggressive driver an I was almost to the point of taking the train back to Frankfurt. The worst part is that they crammed 8 of us into a small van. It was extremely uncomfortable for such a long trip.Written April 16, 2024
- aliceo8160 contributionsLovely trip but long drive with unsafe driverTrip was lovely and the sights were beautiful. However, did not feel safe with the driver /guide Willy as he was using his mobile phone without handsfree earphones, at times speaking for more than 10mins and then at times texting or checking his text. This is especially dangerous on the way back on the Autobahn with heavy traffic!Written March 10, 2024

We were picked up in a Ford Transit van, 6 adults squeezed uncomfortably in the back where for more than 3 hours you felt every bump in the road. Then on our way to visit listed sites we suddenly did a u turn as the driver has mistimed the boat, the only one operating for the day…..we were lucky he found it? Then lunch, again the only place he could get to open just for us was a disappointment, food average at best and then we had to pay for water & coffee……..other unhappy travellers challenged the host as to why we were not going back to the sites, eventually relenting we drove an an additional hour in the van to drive past the site.
Most businesses in the little villages were closed, which the host repeated regularly.
Suggest they should not operate in winter.

Just to put things into context, the tour is primarily by air conditioning bus. You drive to a town outside of Frankfurt which is nice to see but not a lot to do. You then have lunch in a cafe , no issues with the food but the setting could be improved….
The boat itself is fine and was the best part of the tour - the boat was a public ferry make no mistake. The boat ride lasts for an hour to a town nearby where you board the bus., again. The wine tasting really needs to be reworded, as we returned to the same cafe we had a meal in to be greeted by 4 shot glasses of wine for each member of the tour. This was disappointing. All in all the trip wasn’t what we expected it to be and not worth 150 euro each.

This was an absolutely incredible trip. Our guide took time to walk through the bus and talk to each group personally. He welcomed questions about the country and the area. The restaurant was so unique, the local food was great, and we really enjoyed the wine tasting. We wish would have purchased some! The boat cruise was top knotch. I would recommend purchasing a guide book before getting on the boat to tell about the castles you'll see on the way. There's a shop right by the boat, and our guide recommended the best book option. Would highly recommend this trip!

Our tour guide Michael was funny, welcoming, reliable, and provided wonderful narrations on the trip (but still left lots of quiet time for us to enjoy the scenery). Food was good, drinks on board the boat were nice, and so many castles! My favorite was the chair lift over the mountain. The entire trip was relaxing, informative, and very fun.

The boat ride was cool, but had my friend and I known it was only 1 hour out of the 7.5 we would’ve driven ourselves. The restaurant was mediocre and beware not even the water is included with your lunch … literally everything is extra. The other people didn’t know that either. Cable car = extra water or coke or beer= extra … everything on boat= extra. Guide was awesome but honestly a bit of a rip off for such a short time on the boat. You can’t tell me a 15 euro meal and a 45 minute trip(x2) is worth 160 usd especially when the boat ride separately is 20-30 euro.

Should have read the negative reviews before booking… they were spot on.
The food was bland and low quality, the restaurant had tacky souvenirs covering all the space on the walls, ceilings, and most of the floor. Navigating through narrow pathways to our tables in the bathroom felt like a challenge course.
The only redeeming part was the boat ride down the Rhine with views of spectacular castles. The public ferry has a top floor where you can enjoy soaking in the rustic and ancient landscape of the Rhine Valley.
After feeling refreshed from the boat ride, we were let down by being led back to the same restaurant we lunched. It got worse as we found ourselves in a smaller, more crowded room in the back for wine tasting. As per the other reviews, the wine tasting was cheap wine (€26-45 per bottle) in half filled shot glasses. The ice wine was the only one that was unique, but would classify it as a dessert wine. We left very ready to be done with the tour and head home.
Overall, would not recommend.

Overall trip was definitely worth it. They bring you to areas you wouldn’t otherwise think to go to as a regular visitor. Lots of culture and history, a ton of castles and old cobblestone towns. Really good trip for pictures. At the lunch, the food is decent, but they charge/overcharge for water which is petty. This is the same place you’ll go back to at the end of the trip for the wine tasting. They then try to upsell you on wine. If they hadn’t snaked us for $2.50 for a glass of water (each) I may have been more interested in the wine. Overall though, trip was great, guide was great, boat trip on the Rhine was very nice. Would recommend.

This was a great trip and was a fantastic experience. This tour is accessible if you are able to take a couple of steps into the van/bus. Most surfaces are flat and easily taken in a wheelchair. The cruise boat is accessible but only on the first level, not outside. You still get great views and will have a fantastic time. Highly recommended. Great food, great food, and you will learn and see lots.

Good tour, exactly as advertised. There's a cable car style ride down a side of a mountain, time to walk around the cobbled stone streets in one town, and a 1.5 hour "Cruise" on a river boat. Try to get a spot on the upper deck if you can, bring a hat on sunny days. The lunch is basic but it's included (drinks are extra) and the driver / guide is very knowledgeable and helpful. It's a great way to see the Rhine river valley in one day.

We took a 30 minute taxi into the city, walked 30 minutes to get to the meeting point, only to find that our trip was canceled. The frustrating part was they called me 4 times in the past two days to see if we could switch to Friday or Saturday, but I told them Sunday was the only day we could. They assured me it wouldn't be a problem. I checked my email and they did email saying they couldn't get enough people to come, so they cancelled. I just wish they would have told me that instead of assuring me sunday would be fine. I would have tried to make a way to make Friday/Saturday happen. Just disappointed they didn't try to call me to let me know. We did all that traveling for nothing and our day was wasted.

What is the best recommended way to travel to the meeting point from Best Western Wein-Und Parkhotel Nierstein? Should we drive our rental car 39 mins and pay for a parking garage or should we take public transit? would we be able to get public transit back to hotel at 9pm?

The meeting point is opposite the station and I would assume there would be public transport well after 9pm. There might be a similar tour departing from Mainz perhaps?

We are landing in Frankfort at 9:00am. We are concerned that we will not get out of the airport in enough time to get to the meeting place by 11:00am. If miss our all-day tour, can we transfer our tickets to the half day tour that starts later that day? Our tour is booked for Saturday, the 18th.
