Our tour guide Michael was funny, welcoming, reliable, and provided wonderful narrations on the trip (but still left lots of quiet time for us to enjoy the scenery). Food was good, drinks on board the boat were nice, and so many castles! My favorite was the chair lift over the mountain. The entire trip was relaxing, informative, and very fun.

This off season tour left a lot to be desired.
Our tour guide, Micheal, was terrific. Wonderful English, funny, and full of information. The pickup location was great - close to the train station and easy to find.
The tour itself was lacking. The cruise portion was only two hours. We had a lovely drive to the river, but missed two of the included stops we were supposed to see -
'explore historic Rudesheim' - no time was allowed for this and there was no point as the town was closed up due to off season. Not a soul to be seen or a shop open. We were supposed to stop at the Neiderwald Monument but that didn't happen. I was told it would be after the cruise, but it wasn't, and in fact it was dark after the cruise. There is no stop at Loreley (summer only). We were also to stop at an attractive alleyway Drosselgasse, but that didn't happen. After getting off the cruise we did a short wine tasting, then headed back to Frankfurt. The last two hours were in the dark, so no more sightseeing. We understand in the off season, the weather may not cooperate or many businesses may be closed. The tour should be moved to start earlier so sights can be included before the cruise and/or more of the tour is in daylight, and it certainly should be priced for the off season, as much of the 'included' experiences are not offered. According to the online availability/pricing calendar, the price is the same every day, all year long. I would not do this again at this price.

We took a 30 minute taxi into the city, walked 30 minutes to get to the meeting point, only to find that our trip was canceled. The frustrating part was they called me 4 times in the past two days to see if we could switch to Friday or Saturday, but I told them Sunday was the only day we could. They assured me it wouldn't be a problem. I checked my email and they did email saying they couldn't get enough people to come, so they cancelled. I just wish they would have told me that instead of assuring me sunday would be fine. I would have tried to make a way to make Friday/Saturday happen. Just disappointed they didn't try to call me to let me know. We did all that traveling for nothing and our day was wasted.

Very relaxing tour. For those who cannot do extended walking, this is a wonderful choice.
The cruise allows viewing of multiple castles and villages as it moves along the river. This tour included a simple meal at a local restaurant prior to embarkation. The scenery is beautiful. Relax inside the boat or out on deck.

It's fine we switched to another castle trip under the bad season and weather, just noticed us early not on the same day morning please. Also it would be better alot alot if we can start our trip likes 10am, so we can have an hour for lunch or shopping in that small town, unbelievable no time for lunch since 11am to 5pm... Thank god the tourist bus failed electric for 40mins before get back to city so I can have a quick coffee and cake before back...

Our guide was very friendly and knowledgeable. The bus ride was nice and cool and comfortable. Lunch was at a local restaurant and they served schnitzel and fries. It was ok and you had to pay for water and drinks separately. The river cruise was a bit boring. We did go during a heat wave which made it very hot but you just get on a boat and ride down a river. There is no tour guide explaining what you are seeing. It was not what I was expecting for the price. The wine tasting was a few wines they were trying to sell you. Overall it was ok. I wouldn’t recommend if you’ve seen a lot of Europe and castles. This was on the lower end of scenic cruises.

I joined a couple from Colorado and the 3 of us comprised our "group." Our van driver was fun and with just 3 of us he was able to readily field our questions. The chairlift ride into town is worth the extra cost. Since it was the start of the season and because maybe there are still some lingering Covid concerns, our cruise was lightly attended. Lunch was good; the wine-tasting event was fine ("Zum Wohl!"). This was fun, relaxing; and a nice way to finish an interesting trip to Germany.

Wonderful day spent viewing many very historical sites by boat, bus and ski lift. Our group was lucky to get to take the ski lift down and see the beautiful valley from the lift before the lift closed for the season. The guide was phenomenal and very knowledgeable about German history. He was very personable, and I would love to take other tours with him as the guide. The restaurant where lunch was served was beautiful and well worth exploring. Very nice to have tastes of wine. The ice wine was one that I have wanted to try for some time.

Good tour, exactly as advertised. There's a cable car style ride down a side of a mountain, time to walk around the cobbled stone streets in one town, and a 1.5 hour "Cruise" on a river boat. Try to get a spot on the upper deck if you can, bring a hat on sunny days. The lunch is basic but it's included (drinks are extra) and the driver / guide is very knowledgeable and helpful. It's a great way to see the Rhine river valley in one day.

1) How long is the 1/2 day river cruise that starts at 3:15pm? I only see the 7 hour, 45 minute duration for the full day. 2) Where is the meeting spot for that? Same as full day or diferent?
We are flying in from New York, USA. We have had our COVID vaccines. Will be there June 1st. Do we have to have an actual covid test 24 hours prior before we get there?

What is the best recommended way to travel to the meeting point from Best Western Wein-Und Parkhotel Nierstein? Should we drive our rental car 39 mins and pay for a parking garage or should we take public transit? would we be able to get public transit back to hotel at 9pm?

The meeting point is opposite the station and I would assume there would be public transport well after 9pm. There might be a similar tour departing from Mainz perhaps?

We are landing in Frankfort at 9:00am. We are concerned that we will not get out of the airport in enough time to get to the meeting place by 11:00am. If miss our all-day tour, can we transfer our tickets to the half day tour that starts later that day? Our tour is booked for Saturday, the 18th.
