City Tour by Red Double Decker

Discover vibrant and historic Hamburg on this hop-on hop-off double-decker bus tour.  With your single-day pass, relax for the 90-minute full tour, or design an itinerary with 29 possible stops like St Michael Church, St Pauli Fish Market and the renowned Reeperbahn red-light district. Enjoy unobstructed views from the open-air viewing deck (weather permitting) and onboard commentary in English and German. Upgrade to add an hour-long harbor cruise!

What to Expect
With your 24-hour ticket, see the best of Hamburg by bus with onboard commentary offering snippets of local history in English and German. Hop aboard the bus at St Pauli port or at Central Station, and enjoy the flexibility of choosing your own schedule, pace and tour duration.
Grab a comfortable seat in either the indoor or open-air seating section (weather dependent) and take in the sights along the full route (approximately 1.5 hours long). Sit through the entire loop, or hop off at any of the 29 stops (full itinerary listed below) to explore top city landmarks. Another bus will be along in 30 to 60 minutes (depending on the day and season) to pick you up.
Soak up the prestige of Town Hall and get a dose of German expressionist architecture at the elaborate Chilehaus. Then tour the lively St. Pauli fish market — visited by some 70,000 people every Sunday! — and Hamburg’s famous Reeperbahn red-light district. For a glimpse of Hamburg’s maritime history, upgrade to include an hour-long cruise through the city harbor. You'll float by container ship terminals, the picturesque warehouse district and the eye-catching Elbphilharmonie concert hall. (Cruise runs from April to October only.)
Disembark at any stop along the route to end your tour. Easy!

Disappointing tour

We have done hop-on-hop-off buses in many cities around the world, but this is the first time we had a live guide who told us that we would get an English commentary as well as the German one. Well, that was the first disappointment -...More

A decent enough experience - worth doing

We boarded outside the main station on Kirchenallee c 9.15am, from where they seem to start. I had a Hamburg 5 Day Pass ( not worth it for me) so the 18.50 euros Red Bus cost was included. It left on time at 9.30am and...More

Great way to discover Hamburg

The itinerary is great to discover Hamburg in about 90 minutes. Punctual and reliable. The tour guide speaks German and you get headphones if you want to switch to another language. Highly recommended

Do not hire this company if you speak another language other than German, every four buses one is with audio in English, you stay more than an hour waiting for the bus and you can not enjoy the ride. The guides also find that they...More

Try the other company - this one is the pits

This would have to be one of the most painfully slow hop on hop off city bus tours I have ever experienced. If you only speak English forget it. Headphones are available but the live or recorded German commentary is so loud you won't have...More

No they did not. We took the shuttle bus provided by our ship into town and the shuttle dropped you and picked you up at the town center. The hop on hop off bus was right there. Personally I wouldn't bother, I didn't find it... More
