Potsdam: Private Tour with a Vehicle – Time for Palace Entries Included!

By Vexperio |
Potsdam was a city of kings – a German Versaille where the Hohenzollern monarchy of Prussia constructed lavish palaces in which they could spend their summers. It was also the setting for the Potsdam Conference, where geopolitical giants Josef Stalin, Harry Truman and Winston Churchill met in the summer of 1945 to seal the post-war fate of Germany and Europe. This 8-hour tour with a car takes you to Potsdam to experience the pomp and grandeur of Prussia and explore the origins of the Cold War. With your own private vehicle, you have the opportunity to explore much more of the UNESCO-listed palace gardens than would be possible by just walking. As part of the tour you will also be able to enter both the Sanssouci and Cecilienhof palaces. Please be aware that palace entry costs are not covered as part of the tour and that you will be supplied with an audio guide for the duration of your visit to each palace.

          Great all-in-one experience!
We had a wonderful experience on this all-in-one tour for Berlin. The bus was waiting on time at the cruise port. It was spacious and comfortable with reclining seats and overhead storage. There was a stop midway for snacks/drinks/souvenirs and bathroom break. FYI, there was a line for the ladies room…nothing new. Lol. We arrived in Berlin and was met by our tour guide Tobi who would accompany us for the rest of the tour. He was extremely polite and very knowledgeable on German history. He himself was well-deserving of a five star review. There was a lot of eye opening WWII history on this tour. We admired how the German locals took ownership of their dark past during WWII. Overall, I would recommend this tour if you’re looking for an all-in-one experience.

          perfect city break
Locals here are wonderful! I had so many interesting conversations during our free time in the city. Also our guide didn't disappoint, he was super passionate about the history of the city and was even able to interest my son.

Make the most of your limited time in Berlin
When we booked a cruise that included a stop at Warnemunde, I knew that I wanted to take an excursion to Berlin- I'd been many years ago and wanted my husband and son to see the city. We chose Vexperio because we were booking Normandy tour with them and they give a discount for multiple tours. This turned out to be fortuitous- the tour was excellent! Ann, our guide was very knowledge about about both Berlin and German history. On the bus ride she gave us an overview of the area, the history, and primed us for what we'd be seeing. She and our bus driver, Wally, had to make some changes due to road closures and areas blocked off because of the Euros but we were still able to see the city. My only complaint is that we did not get enough time in this wonderful city, but that was the fault of the ship's port times and not the excursion/Vexperio.

          Immersion into medieval era
Put your armor on, take your sword and fight for the glory! That’s how you feel seeing the medieval buildings. If you like this portion of the history this town is definitely a must-see! The tour guide takes you to see many iconic monuments and after you can walk around and experience the vibe on your own.

          Outstanding !
The tour to Lübeck from Kiel was really enjoyable! We had a great guided walk through the city, then lots of time to wander around and check out the historic buildings on our own. We are very passionate about renaissance architecture and this tour did not disappoint us. It was a perfect way to soak up the charm and history of Lübeck in a day. And the guide showed us where is the best German beer! ( It was so delicious!!) We definitely recommend it for anyone visiting the area!

          Great time!
While we usually lean towards exploring towns like this one on our own, Lübeck felt different—our guide did an outstanding job showing us hidden gems and sharing local stories, like at the Holsten Gate and St Mary's Church. Their insights added a depth we wouldn't have discovered solo, making this guided tour unforgettable!

          I loved this tour
One of the nicest places I have visited recently. I must say, it's a photographer's dream! Our guide said that Lübeck is known as the city of short distances, and he didn’t lie, as you can easily explore it on foot:) The medieval vibe is just fantastic, it is definitely a must-visit for anyone who appreciates history! Highly recommended!!!!

          Beautiful Lübeck
The pickup from the port was smooth, a port assistant was waiting with a big sign and guided us to our bus. We took the tour to Lübeck because I wanted to see something romantic with my boyfriend. The town was absolutely mesmerizing, the views were soo worth it.

I fell in love with Lübeck!
The mediaeval buildings create a VERY romantic atmosphere, making it a great tour for couples! The tour was well-organised, giving us plenty of time to wander and discover on our own – just the way I like it hehe! I highly recommend it for a charming getaway. If you plan on visiting, don’t forget to enjoy a little marzipan snack – Lübeck is famous for it! :)

          Intimate city with friendly locals
Lübeck is a wonderful, intimate city with a quiet, charming atmosphere. We were really lucky to be in a smaller group and out of season (april). The weather was a little cooler than we expected, but it made for a pleasant surprise. And tour was so worth it! The guide was cheerful and explained everything patiently. The locals were so friendly! They even treated us to some delicious homemade cookies. Thanks for this tour! And thank you, Ms. Hoffmanee, for the delicious cookies!

          lovely trip
One of the most romantic places I’ve ever been to <3 I really enjoyed the whole trip, it was super comfortable and despite the weather we totally fell in love with this place (to be fair I never actually heard about it before). We had a lot of time to explore the city and buy some souvenirs (and of course eat something). I really recommend it for couples.

          Great City to Visit!
With a group of 6, this was a wonderful way to see Berlin when coming in from the cruise port. It ended up being cheaper than if we had scheduled a bus trip with the cruise. Communication prior to the trip was great. The driver was there on-time and ready to go for the 2 1/2 hour drive into Berlin. Our guide, Benjamin, was also very good. He told us a lot of interesting history about the sights we were seeing, and even though there were a lot of unexpected events happening in the city the day of our tour, we were able to see a lot and get back to the ship on-time. I would highly recommend this trip!
