Lovely tour of the river spree
Dec 2019 • Friends
Lovely cruise down the river spree in Berlin. The meeting point was easy to find as it’s near the big dome. We arrived early and it was cold soon got boarded and sat at table with audio guide which was very useful. We ordered drinks and goulash and currywurst. The food was nice but expensive.

Uninspiring
Nov 2019
This early evening cruise was spoilt by the lack of being able to see the outside lit buildings in darkness whilst the interior of the boat was also lit.

Festival of lights boat tour
Your was good and price was fine for what it was. Staff could have been friendlier. Overall it was okay but we expected more.

Great time aboard
Dec 2018 • Friends
we had a great time aboard. Berlin's Spree is so peaceful at winter time with all the sparkling sights. You can relax from a long sightseeing day, even book an early dinner ahead.

It's Cheap For A Reason!
Dec 2018 • Friends
We arrived at the dock about 5 or 10 minutes before departure time (we got a little lost on the way and the boat wasn't at all well signposted at the dock). I make this point only to underline that we weren't late arriving.
We were three people and when we boarded there didn't seem to be any free (unreserved) seats, so we had to squeeze in with two other pairs of tourists. When we were looking for seats, we were standing around for a couple of minutes trying to spot some. The guy who'd checked our tickets and the waitress onboard were both quite unhelpful and borderline rude to us. They offered no help in finding us seats and when I said to the guy who'd checked our tickets that we were unable to find somewhere to sit, he told me it was our own fault as we were late arriving. Again, I'll remind you we were there 5 - 10 minutes before departure, so they weren't exactly delayed because of us.

I've lived and worked in Germany and I speak fluent German, so this conversation took place completely in German, meaning there can be no misunderstanding of his or the waitress' tone/meaning. She complained to us twice that we were in her way before we sat down. (We were, but she offered us no help in finding a place to sit which was clearly the reason we were standing around.)
So, we managed to get a spot with a pair of German tourists and another Irish couple. They were very pleasant companions and they and the beer were probably the highlight of this tour. The 'guided tour' was actually a German recording played over speakers and for non-German speakers an individual recorded tour on one of those dictaphone type devices you get at museums. The other Irish couple had these, but said they were pointless as mostly when it told you to look out at a specific landmark, you couldn't really see anything because it was so dark. The German version over the speakers was even more useless; even the native speakers at our table couldn't hear any of it (neither could I) so it was just the vague noise of someone talking in the background. Some of the buildings did look nice when lit up at night, but it wasn't anywhere near what I was expecting. I've done a day time river tour of Berlin and it was really wonderful. This fell seriously short of expectations.

Some easily resolved issues:
It wasn't mentioned anywhere on Viator that it was possible to book a table for a meal, which we would have happily done.
Likewise it didn't advise you to arrive 20 - 30 mins before departure time (which it should, because not everyone will think to arrive so far in advance of the stated tour time).
They need to invest in their speaker/tour system.
They need to hire staff who are used to dealing with tourists and will actually be polite and patient with them.
I wouldn't recommend this tour to anyone. If you want a river tour on the Spree, book a daytime one, or perhaps an evening one from another company that's a little more expensive.
