Our tour was wonderful, so informative and I gained a whole new perspective and insight on a time period in history that I thought I knew so much about. Hannah Schneider our tour guide was great! She had so much information and knowledge on the subject and taught me things I never knew before. If you’re a big history buff and ever make the trip to Berlin I highly recommend taking this tour, you’ll learn things that you never taught in school especially where I’m from in America. I learned a lot in three hours, but honestly I could’ve done it all day. Again can’t say enough good things about it and about Hannah, it was awesome!

This was a really good walking tour. Our guide was very knowledgeable but a little soft spoken so I was only able to hear about one half of what he presented. Also, we booked this in part because going into the Reichstag was supposed to be a stop, but our guide just skipped over that and pointed out the dome to us from several blocks away. That was kind of disappointing.
The thing I’ve liked about this tour company so far, however, is that all the guides we’ve had are incredibly well educated and informed and take their work very seriously.

I did the 3rd Reich Tour with my wife and 2 children (13 and 11). Our guide was Chloe who was also very knowledgeable and showed us a variety of sites including the Reichstag where she told us about the planned World Capital that Hitler had wanted to create. She then took us to the Soviet Memorial where she looked after the group extremely well when a man tried to gate-crash our tour and offer unwanted opinions on the Soviet role in the war and tried to drag our conversation into modern politics (he approached just about every group at the memorial).
We then moved on to the building where those involved in the Valkyrie plot were assassinated, the T4 memorial and finished up on the modern site of Hitler’s Bunker. There were no trains required for this tour.
A great way to get a condensed version of the history if you have limited time, Chloe was excellent.

We were extremely disappointed in this tour. Firstly, it makes zero sense to meet at Friedrichstraße station if the first thing we do is take a metro to go four more stops — a long time was wasted with the guide helping those without tickets buy them etc. So, anyways, finally once we were all at the right station, the tour actually begins 30 mins later. It began at the Topography of Terror, which says will be the final stop. Sure, no problems changing the order BUT this didn’t make sense as he said “you can go in after the tour” but we finished the tour over 1.5km away - so wouldn’t it just make sense to finish the tour exactly there so we could enter? Anyways, another real disappointment was the bunker. There is a sign there showing the bunker layout and giving more info but again, he said “you can go see that after the tour” — but then we would have to walk all the way back? None of this made any sense. He also started talking about what happened with Hitler’s death but then said jokingly “But I don’t f*#^ing care” — not overly professional when we are paying for you to care! I would say 50% of the tour was focused on WWII and the rest was about the Cold War, tips about bars, going out, conversations about Berliners, and a lot of the guide’s opinions about what’s happening in the Ukraine. So, for us, this tour made ZERO sense as it did not match the title. Also, we had done the “Original Free Berlin Walking Tour” the day before and it went to 80% of the same places (and that guide was much better) so this was really a waste of money!! I would NOT recommend it.

Dear John-P…
Thank you for your review. We are truly sorry that you did not enjoy our Third Reich Berlin tour.
Yours was on Oct. 3rd, a national holiday in Germany celebrating ‚Tag der Deutsche Einheit‘ or ‚Unity Day‘. On this occasion the area around the Reichstag would have limited access due to the mass events taking place there on that special day. That is why your guide chose to go elsewhere, rather than walk the group into a dead end. In the center of the capital we are occasionally forced to reroute because of street closures and/or security cauldrons due to events like protests, mass events, state visits, etc. We hope you understand our situation in this matter.
Throughout, the tour our guide would indeed point out sites, exhibitions and museums which, after an explanation, they would recommend all to visit in their own time, maybe at the end of the tour, or after the tour, or at any other time. It is just not possible to finish the tour at all of these sites.
Should our guide have used an expletive, then that is out of order for sure, and we apologise to you for that.
After all the years, and the many, many tours we have had the pleasure of giving in Berlin, one piece of feedback from our guests has been constant – how rewarding and interesting it is for them to engage with a native about their city, its culture, history, political, socio-economic state and any recommendations the guide can give to help enrich their Berlin experience. We are sorry that you did not appreciate this.
Here’s wishing you many happy travels and great tours in the future.
Kind regards,
Gerard

Had a fantastic morning with Eran on the tour. The knowledge he had made the places we visited so much more interesting than just walking past solo. His before and after pics of the areas were also great for context of the impact of the war. He answered all questions and actively tried to bond our group through questions and answers. He checked in with everyone sporadically throughout the tour to make sure we were all happy. I forgot to take cash to tip (rookie mistake) and I regret it as he really made the morning the best. Make sure you are able to tip at the end.

We absolutely loved the walking tour and the overall experience. The tour guide Asaf Leshem was incredibly engaging, knowledgeable with great sense of humour. We loved every minute of it! IN fact, this walking tour was the most central piece of our Berlin experience, we have built everything around it subsequently. Asaf has managed to be very impartial and diplomatic taking about such emotive and complex subject as modern history.

Jamie, our guide, was extremely knowledgeable and kept the facts flowing with interjections of questions. There were a couple of teenage girls who were studying WW2 history and it was a pleasure to see him asking about what they knew and seeing them answer with passion. A fantastic trip for all ages! Highly recommend this trip

Hannah was amazing!!! She was so knowledgeable about the subject matter. She kept the tour moving and provided us with many bits of information we did not know. She is incredibly enthusiastic and really knew her subject matter. The subject matter was difficult but she presented it in a way that had you wanting more.

Campbell was a fantastic guide, an Australian historian who's knowledge of Berlin, Hitler and the Third Reich was second to none. I actually downloaded a three day tour itinerary but decided to go with this great value for money tour - I'm so glad I did. There were lots of questions that were all answered and the locations visited were both fascinating and educational. 100% recommended, cracking three hours well spent.

This tour was just perfect for us from start to finish.
The subject that was covered and the detail it was covered in was a perfect fit for my daughter and myself. Some pretty weighty content and tricky subjects tempered with some really interesting lesser known facts. Great balance of stops along the way. The amount of walking was just right and we were blessed with beautiful weather. Campbell was approachable and informative and interaction with group was great. Was particularly impressed when he asked the group for their feedback on the holocaust memorial. Would definitely recommend this tour. Well done.
