Really nice tour, our guide was very knowledgeable and a great story teller. He drew attention to details you would probably not see if you tried to discover the sites by yourself.

Cold War Tour Guide Nickolai is Berlin's Hidden Gem
Sep 2021
Wow. The best word I can use to describe our Cold War tour with the amazing Nickolai, is simply, wow. Nickolai is a true gem. From being open in sharing his own storied past with to being immensely knowledgable about the vast history of Berlin, Nickolai was for us the true star of our entire three-day trip to Berlin. In addition, Nickolai did an amazing job giving us unique insights into both sides of communism, Berlin's history, "Ostalgia", and the Cold War itself. We all felt his perspective was well-founded, well-researched, and well-explained - allowing us all to see things from multiple sides and come to our own conclusions (or inconclusions, even!) More than all of that though, it was his contagious passion and clear excitement for the city's history that truly made our four hours with him memorable, enjoyable, and something we were all instantly eager to recommend to our friends and family. I cannot recommend this tour and Nickolai enough.

Basic info: tour: Cold War Walking Tour; guide: Nickolai; time: Saturday morning, early September; weather: chilly when standing around; group: we were three people and the overall group was 16 (max. 20); walking: we didn't actually walk very much - we stood around a great deal listening to Nickolai and we took the subway multiple times (price is not incl. in tour ticket).

Outstanding
Oct 2020 • Couples
Nikolai was an amazing tour guide, he was so knowledgeable and really brought a sense of personalisation into the tour which really allowed me to visualise the cold war. The stops along the way showed both sides of the cold war and were really insightful. As a first timer to Berlin I really recommend this tour, which summarises the post-war period in an amazing way, bringing history to life.

Great Tour - Barnaby was the Best
May 2019
Barnaby, our tour guide, really made the excursion what it was. He was knowledgeable and super friendly and was not afraid to make fun of himself or us (which we really enjoyed). It was the perfect amount of tour, travel, friendly conversation, free time and history. Definitely recommend.

Great tour!
Mar 2020
Knowing very little about the Cold War, we found this an excellent basis for finding out more. However I would recommend this to anyone.

Walking tour, 4 hours, with public transport utilised. Ronan was our tour guide, and he was great!

Cold War Walking Tour with Jan / March 3rd
Mar 2020 • Solo
I am writing this review as a 'Thank You' to your tour guide Jan.
He was our guide on March 3rd for the Cold War walking tour and he did a wonderful job.
He had a lot of knowledge to offer, very good details about all the places we walked by, and extra ones, and better than that was his passion for his job, really motivating us to listen every single word.
I can really say that I this tour was one of the highlights of my visit to Berlin!
Well done and keep up the good work!

Super!
Pip was our tour guide and she is smart and interested and makes great conversation. She is incredibly knowledgeable and ready so answer all questions about this complicated history. Most importantly, and what sets Pip apart is how intuitive she is - it was colder and more windy than any of us expected and she knew to tuck us into corners and warm spots.
