    WW2 your experience
Excellent knowledgeable guide. Relevant landmarks visited . Appropriate pace . Chance to ask lots of questions . Would have liked a bit more specific WW2 information as a bit general and came in your specifically for this historical element .

    Book this tour!
Book this one!! We started our weekend in Berlin with this tour. Jim was our guide, it was excellent, covered so much and so many places leaving you wanting more. His energy and vivacious style bring so much of Berlin’s history to life. He’s full of local knowledge too - we picked his brains on local authentic eats and we’re just back from taking his advice! Nom nom.

Third Reich walking tour. Paul Our guide who Was Australian was informative knowledgeable and a great guide. He had warmth and was interested in our small group who were also there enjoying all the points of interest Paul shared with us. We had six people in total in our group and it was an enjoyable amazing part of our day. I can't recommend Paul enough if you're lucky enough to get him as your guide you won't be disappointed. Outstanding tour with a brilliant guide in Lewis.
I can’t speak highly enough of this tour. Our guide Lewis was unbelievably informed, and described the history of the city through its dark past perfectly, especially loved his quirky but excellent delivery, highlight of the tour was his explanation of the Berlin Wall, first class tour.

Georgia also gave us tips for places to eat and drink after we had finished the tour The weather wasn't great at times but she did her best to keep us dry and warm stopping for a hot drink and snack. Thanks Georgia.

Of all the city tours we've done in various places, we reckon the Cold War Walking Tour was the best. Jamie really knew his subject and enlivened it with stories of people - sometimes poignant, sometimes amusing (e.g. his partner's mother finally had a Trabant car, which she received 10 years after she placed the order.) He paced and structured the tour really well and took the time to answer all our questions. We felt we had gained a great depth of insight into life in Cold War Berlin (both East and West).
To be strictly accurate, the Tour should be called the Cold War Walking and Public Transport Tour. A bit of a mouthful, but it's worth ensuring in advance that you have at least a day pass.

My husband and I took the Cold War Walking tour with Pip as our tour guide today and we really enjoyed it. Pip was an engaging, accommodating, and very informed guide. She took us around to various parts of the city and shared a lot of great information and stories with us along the way. If you are interested in the Cold War, we highly recommend this tour!

A walking tour that has left us as a family inspired to learn more and visit more of the tours. Maria D (Brazilian Maria) was exceptional, we are a family of 4 including 7yr old son and 11 year old daughter I was worried on meeting at 10am about the lack of children and how our youngest would get on. Maria’s intro had the kids hooked she went at a pace they could understand but also engaged with some others on the group who were very knowledgable on the subject. The DIY approach would not have kept young ears listening or engaged for 3 hrs in way in which Maria did, if you are unsure whether to book absolutely do!!

Nikolai was an amazing tour guide, he was so knowledgeable and really brought a sense of personalisation into the tour which really allowed me to visualise the cold war. The stops along the way showed both sides of the cold war and were really insightful. As a first timer to Berlin I really recommend this tour, which summarises the post-war period in an amazing way, bringing history to life.

Taylor had a very nice touch and led extremely well - he just gave us the right mix of humour and information . He didn't grandstand or bore us with too many of his own views. It was also the right length I'd say.

Maria was knowledgeable, witty, and friendly throughout the tour. Her insights made the tour feel well rounded and helped us better understand the context of the information presented. While it was initially overwhelming to be surrounded by so much information at the wall, she did a great job of explaining the key points and answering specific questions we had.

I highly recommend this to anyone wanting to visit the wall and learn more about the Cold War. She made a very heavy topic feel more accessible and digestible, and for that we are very thankful.

Fantastic walking tour with Glen, an incredibly knowledgeable and interesting guide. Tour includes travel on S Bahn and U Bahn so public transport day ticket is needed, would add there are lots of steps in and out of these stations.

The Berlin Wall Memorial at Bernauer Strasse is very extensive and seeing this with a guide really brought it to life. The final stop at Karl Marx Allee continued the theme of life is East Berlin.

I love our tour with Chloe so much. The Cold War is a piece of history I’ve been interesting in since I learnt about it. I went with my grandparents on our short city break - they themselves lived in Germany during the Cold War and hadn’t been back since and really liked seeing the wall from a different perspective and finding out all the niche info on escapes and methods from the Stasi.

I totally recommend this tour to anyone considering one. My only point is that there is not many places to sit on it if mobility is an issue.

Our guide Jamie is a local graduate student specializing in nationalist movements. His base of knowledge regarding the Cold War and the social forces in existence during the time before reunification was extensive and his storytelling was superb. The anecdotes he related are the way history is taught by the professionals, and Jamie definitely qualifies as one of them.

Had a excellent cold war & third reich tour with Martin. He is passionate about all things Berlin, and tailored the tour perfectly to our needs. He has an amazing eye for the detail, and he provided interesting details of the Berlin wall & tunnels that were new to us even after doing the in-depth underground tunnel tour with another company. Martin made a 5-Hr tour very easy with anecdotes and bringing the details to life with good storytelling. Our first tour unfortunately wasn't a good experience but with Mike's help we got Martin to take us out on the second tour. Mike, the owner, has been great with communicating about the tours in Berlin. overall, a great experience and will recommend Insider Tours.
