Our tour guide, Gregor, gave us a very knowledgeable, well rounded perspective on the rise of the Nazis during this 4 hour walking tour of the city. You see some spectacular sights, learn some truly fascinating facts, and we couldn’t of asked for a better tour guide - Gregor brought it all to life. Would highly recommend. A must for any WW2 history buff. Thanks Gregor!

As this is the first tour of any kind that I have taken, I did not know what to expect. My hope was to connect my own knowledge of this historical period to the places and events where they took place. This is just one of the many positive gains I made from joining this walking tour. There is so much I wish to say in this review that I'll break it down into sections. But first, I would say that it was the best money I spent on my visit to Berlin hands down.

Sam B (as he asked us to make clear) is wasted as just a tour guide. A fellow Englander like myself, Sam really was a fountain of knowledge that he readily and confidently recalled at every stage of our 4 hour walking tour. However, he did far more than just regurgitate facts.

A passionate storyteller, I would find myself creating images of what he was describing as he was talking that only served to increase the emotional resonance of many parts of the tour. This for me is key.

It is not easy to balance tour participants' desire to learn more about this dark part of German history without stepping into sensationalism or being emotionally tone-deaf. I never once witnessed Sam misjudge something he said or how he said it. I won't ruin the content by providing spoilers, but what I would say is that you can expect to be challenged and even lost in your own thoughts for brief periods as you learn about Berlin's and Germany's National Socialist past.

So a great fact machine and excellent storyteller, which in itself would be enough. However, Sam also had a confident hand on the logistics of managing his tour party. We didn't get lost once, he provide a good break opportunity and calmly resolved some public transport issues.

Go on this tour with Sam B, you will not regret it and if you're anything like me, you will find experiencing Nazi Germany through Sam's expert eyes will more than justify the price of admission. Beyond recommended!

Our tour guide Cesar was clearly very knowledgeable about the period of history surrounding the Third Reich and Nazi Germany. Cesar did not simply state facts about this period of time in Germany's history, but brought the history to life with his detailed descriptions of people and specific events and a great deal of anecdotal information. I can not overstate how much information was presented to the participants of this tour.

On the tour, there was a nice balance of walking time and time spent with Cesar sharing information and explaining different sites on the tour. There were plenty of opportunities to take pictures as well.

One of my favorite parts of the tour was the German Resistance Memorial Center. I found the museum along with Cesar's additional information to be very, very interesting. Another very fascinating part of the tour was visiting the site where it is believed Hitler died in his bunker. Again, the information Cesar shared about what is believed to have happened, as well as other theories about what may have happened was quite intriguing.

Would strongly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Berlin and interested in the history of Nazi Germany!

I can’t praise this tour or guide enough. Our tour guide was Xavier and he was engaging, informative and passionate. It would be fabulous if every European city had a guide who could bring the history, the moment so vividly to life. It seems so apt to finish off a review in Germany with these poetic words as the Heineken family were originally from Germany “If Heineken made tour guides, they would make them like Xavier”

Wouter was fantastic. Very friendly and answered all our questions. The booking accidentally put German and English speakers together and he masterfully switched back and forth between each language to make sure everyone was learning. The sites you see on this would be almost impossible to find on your own, as they are not well marked or destroyed. This tour is a great overview of the war and the Third Reich. My history buffs back home will be jealous.

Caesar guided us from the Reichstag building through various significant sites to the Topography of Terror exhibit. Along the way he really brought history to life, as he outlined what life was like in Germany following WWI and how Hitler used this environment to his advantage. He was a terrific guide and extremely knowledgeable and I would recommend this tour to anyone going to Berlin.

Berlin was at the centre of some of the Western Hemisphere’s most significant events in the 20th century. Sam helped explain what led to these whilst we visited key locations across the city. A very interesting tour led by an excellent guide.

Sam was highly knowledgeable, and clearly knew what he was talking about. He told a cohesive story about the evolution of the city of Berlin through the 20th century. He tied together a brilliant narrative with the underlying theme of progress, hope and learning from our history. Would highly recommend.

This was hands-down one of the most interesting tours I have been on. Scott did an amazing job in showing his passion and knowledge of Berlin’s Nazi past despite a lot of it being destroyed. The tour shows you how the past has been memorialised one different ways and is a really useful way of looking at the city as a product of it’s roots. Would recommend this tour to anyone!

I have been travelling throughout Europe for the last month and been on a few guided tours. This was by far the most informative and engaging. Despite being a cold morning (2 degrees), I found myself completely absorbed in what Caesar was speaking about for the two hours and would willingly have continued the tour for a longer period.
Thank you so much for leading such an interesting tour for visitors.
