- BostonAdamA0 contributionsGreat beers and bites with Noel as a guide! We had an amazing Beers and Bites tour with Noel during Oktoberfest. The perfect focus on local beers and snacks while interspersing some great history and fun facts about the area. We had the best spaetzle of our entire 2 weeks in Germany on this tour, and a nice variety of beers to complement our snacks. I'll say this...on two other instances during our trip, local guides/beer professionals recommended bars or snacks that Noel had taken us to during the tour, so we definitely visited the right spots! Noel himself is personable, fun, knowledgable, and brings a great level of energy and fun to this historic city. He was a fantastic guide, going so far as to give my wife and I a few Berlin recommendations for the second half of our trip (which were all spot-on references by the way!). The entire tour was great, we'd recommend it, and we can't wait to take another one in a new city in the future.Written October 1, 2024

He was super knowledgeable about the city and history and he also recommended a few other places to try after our tour, and we did! They were outstanding! Definitely recommend this tour!⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Written September 24, 2024

- brd19850 contributionsJust book it, don't waste time shopping aroundThe tour was awesome, got a great bit of history and took us through an amazing market we didn't even know existed. The beer and food were excellent - they even provided options for the non-beer drinkers on the tour. Our tour guide, Deniz, made the whole thing a remarkable experience. We had to tap out a bit early as we were heading to opening day of Oktoberfest the next day, I hope Deniz didn't take offense! I would not hesitate to book another tour with him again.Written September 22, 2024
- moveecollector0 contributionsFoodie heaven! Was just me and my friend. Bridget was amazing. We had the best time. She adjusted to me being so full so we collected food and had a lovely picnic at the end. She gave us tips for oktoberfest and where to go and shop. This is a must if you are a foodie.Written September 21, 2024

She answered all of our questions. The food was incredible!! Between the lunch and the special treats throughout the tour, we loved it all.Written September 19, 2024
- TravelDispatch0 contributionsGood guide, but underwhelming for the the price and marketing as the 'ultimate'Unless this is a different tour or recently was rebranded, I believe this tour was marketed as 'Munich's Ultimate Beer Tour and Bites;' we respectfully disagree. We met up with Daniel at the fish fountain in Marienplatz at 5PM on a Tuesday. He was very friendly and greeted us with 2 cold beers from his bag and we popped them open while the 5pm glockenspiel show commenced and he provided some history about the Munich child that appears throughout the city. We believed this was a small group tour and were surprised to learn that it would only be the three of us (Daniel, my wife, and me); not a big deal, but we wouldn't have minded others to join in the experience. We chatted about history and politics and he was very friendly. Our first stop was a butcher shop where we had brat and spicy sausage sandwiches and a plate of liver cheese; which is made with neither liver or cheese. It was a tender smooth bologna tasting meat with a slight bark on the outside. We also tried the non-alcoholic beer from Augustiner, which apparently is really popular and sells out regularly. From there we walked to the Oktoberfest Museum and had about 4 sampler beers and a few hot and fresh pretzels; the second best pretzels we had of the trip, but still not as good as at Kloster Kreuzberg. We then had a Pilsner from Giesinger who is the first brewery to be invited to Oktoberfest beyond the big 7; they are a more urban and craft style brewery that prides themselves as being the working class outsider brewery from the other side of the river. We then visited a small cafe to have a crafty style helles beer. We stopped in at an Alice & Wonderland looking gelato place before getting a beer to go from a corner shop. Despite Daniel being a great host and guide and having an overall good time, I don't believe the tour was worth ~$300 USD (~$150/ea). There are several options for beer tours and this was the highest priced and marketed as the ‘Ultimate;’ I don't think it delivered quite at that level. I'd recommend other travelers looking at other options and price points and deciding for themselves which tour works best for them.Written September 10, 2024
- brjs51680 contributionsA lot of fun and a lot of food with DenizThe Beer and Bites tour was a lot of fun! Our tour guide Deniz was very friendly and knowledgeable made for a pleasant experience. The intimate size of the group made it so that he could have one on one conversations with each of us and we were able to also get a feel for what life is like living in Munich from someone who has lived here a long time. If you are going on this tour prepare to eat more like a full meal (rather than just bites) and a significant amount of beer so don’t fill in on lunch beforehand. All the food was delicious Bavarian food and the beers were cold and tasty.Written September 6, 2024

- llamame_java0 contributionsUnforgettable Beer and Bavarian Bites Experience in Munich! We took this tour during our visit to Munich for Adele's concert, coming from France where we're more accustomed to wine, so learning about beer sounded intriguing. The tour turned out to be a phenomenal experience, offering a deep dive into Munich's rich beer culture, including the 7 traditional breweries, the beer-making process, and various beer types. We visited two charming biergartens and the Oktoberfestmuseum, where we enjoyed not only delicious beers but also sampled fantastic traditional Bavarian food like a baloney sandwich, regional sausages, and pretzels with Obatzda. Our guide, Kevin, was incredibly knowledgeable and did an excellent job creating a warm atmosphere and fostering connections among our lovely group of five. It was a memorable evening that we’ll cherish!Written August 30, 2024
- S77MSO0 contributionsGreat tour, great host!We had our private food tour with Kevin. He was an amazing host. Very friendly and extremely knowledgeable about Munich. The food and drink stops were all excellent and places that we would have never found on our own. It started to rain, and Kevin quickly adapted the planned tour to some inside venues.Written August 25, 2024

Personable and knowledgeable and made sure everyone on our tour was involved. Our snacks were great and the beer was better. 10/10 recommend, 12/10 if you get Noel.Written August 4, 2024

I STRONGLY recommend that before you part with the considerable cost of this tour you purchase and read Katrinas novel (Good Trash Vol 1, KC Blackbook on Amazon). The content of this book will tell you everything you need to know before embarking on the tour.
The 3 stars review reflects the fact that many of the tour attractions were closed which was not always Katrinas fault.

Dear Jane,
Firstly, thank you for your feedback.
We are very sorry to hear our Munich food tour did not live up to your expectations. This is unacceptable from our side. As a gesture of goodwill, we have sent you a Fork & Walk gift voucher.
Hopefully, you can give us another chance in either of our Munich or Berlin locations.
We are sure you will love your next delicious Fork & Walk experience, as soon as we have past this torrid corona period.
Our team is looking forward to seeing you again!

Daniel was a terrific guide. However, we spent euro $235 for two of us and do not believe that it was worth the cost. We stopped at one restaurant and had a nice snack. Afterwards, the stops consisted of very small portions of basic items (cheese, bread, beer). Perhaps we were expecting a “foodie” tour. To reiterate, Daniel was a very good. Guide

Had lots of fun on the tour with Iain! Though it was quite a busy weekend in the city centre, we enjoyed quite a few nice places and tried a bunch of tasty dishes. Though we have been staying in Munic for a while now, we still got to know a lot about its history and places worth visiting (and try something delicious :-P). Thank you for a great experience!

Our guide Iain was highly engaging, a true foodie and his historical knowledge was impressive, and the first stop was excellent (the Weißwurst, pretzel and Weißbier). The downside was the Viktualienmarkt experience. There was no engagement with the stall holders or the produce, just a platter of 3 different sausages, cheese spreads and breadsticks. There is so much more to see at these wonderful markets and you leave the tour none the wiser. The final coffee and donut is dreadful. Filtered coffee and a tasteless pastry. Munich has fabulous desserts and some good coffee but this tour misses the mark completely. If you are like us and do tours at the start of your visit to find the best places to go for the rest of your stay, then I would advise you to save your money or find another tour. We have done over a dozen food tours across Europe and this would be the least value for money in regards to the tastings provided.

We had a fantastic day with Iain, he is a really knowledgeable guy. We learnt loads about the history of the city and were taken to many of the main spots. All this combined with great food, beer and great company. Our day with Iain made us feel like locals. Thanks Iain, one we will not forget.

Kevin was a fun tour guide. I toured by myself while my husband was in a meeting with a small group visiting Munich. After our first stop for a traditional Bavarian breakfast, it started pouring. Kevin found lots of great stops and included extra food stops to keep us out the down pour. Rain or shine, I highly recommend.

Excellent tour by fellow Irishman Kevin. A superb raconteur who knew his way around the various beer gardens and food stops and provided a humorous narrative along the way. The food and beer was excellent and we enjoyed learning a bit about Munich too. I would definitely recommend this to any citybreak or concert goers.

Saying this was the highlight of my vacation is an understatement. While it is easy to find food in Munich, it’s not easy to know the history of the food and what constitutes “good” versions. Iain took the time to get to know everyone in the tour and made sure the food was accessible. He talked about the history of food and markets and beer in Munich as well as expertly navigating the cultural differences. I wish I’d done this tour on my first day in Munich because it gave me so much context and confidence.
If you want to feel like Munich is a place you could live rather than just vacation, book this tour! When I come back, I will definitely book it again.

We went on this food tour on our first full day in Munich. It gave us some bearings and a sense of the city. The food was enjoyable as well. Our guide Iain was personable and engaging, and shared much info about the city and its history over the course of the tour.
