    Nice fishes
You can have a look at a lot of different fishes. They have sorted them starting from the river flowing through Munich, then fishes from the sea.

Sea life Munich... Not what you expect
The kids were so excited to see the sharks and there was even a picture with a beluga but since it was in German only, we only realised that the beluga whales were only on video with a short clip with their life story. The indoor lighting was poor, the sharks very small in size. Just to keep it short and clear, NOT A VALUE FOR MONEY place to visit.

    Fun, but fairly expensive
We enjoyed Sea Life. It is expensive for spending only 1.5 hours there, but the kids loved it. It's a little difficult with all the restrictions at the moment, but there were employees making sure there's space between people.

One or two tanks worth seeing - that’s all folks
Nothing spectacular here. One or two tanks with a bit of wow factor but in the main very ordinary. Not cheap to get in so save your money for better attractions.

    Cute fishes to see
Really nice and very chill aquarium with various types of fishes. Do recommend to visit, specially with kids. Staff seem to take good care of the fishes. All though not all of the signs have english translation, so for those who like to read the sign and can’t German, might need to take their translator with.

    Great
We loved this aquarium. There were unusual fish and we particularly liked the short dragon fish and the jellyfish . We spent a couple of hours here .

    Fairly small
Nicely done but on the small size. Price was too high for the size. Basically took about an hour and a half.

    Passes an hour...
An easy way to pass an hour...wasn’t too crowded when we visited...exhibits are fairly tame...kids would like it....not a must see to be honest. Would not revisit....

    Pricey for a small tour
If you're expecting to see big sharks or dolphins or big fish in general, do not go. They don't have big fish. They do have some small sharks & lot of different small fish though. For the €13 entrance fee I paid, which was an online discount price, I expected much more. Not necessarily that I wanted to see more fish, but more information in general. I like that it's fun & interactive for kids & they have small games to play, but for adults, it needs more. There's only 1 section which is a touch & see section with an employee explaining certain things about shark eggs, star fish & sea cucumbers. But what I really don't understand is, why they're selling plastic bottles in their shop at the end. They advise people not to use plastic, or to reduce plastic use, or keep the oceans clean, but they're selling plastic bottles in their own shop. Pretty disappointing to see

    don't. waste. your. money.
literally the only reason we ended up here is because our hotel rooms weren't ready for us and it started to rain..... 1st of all... the line to get in was ridiculous. it was like $80 for our family and took us maybe 30 minutes to walk through. it took us longer to wait to buy the tickets. The exhibits were terrible... Ive been to many wonderful aquariums; the Baltimore national aquarium, the New Orleans aquarium, Virginia Beach aquarium and the Charleston aquarium among many others.... this place is small, and had more pictures of animals than any actual animals. All 4 of my kids including my 5 year old thought this was boring . If you're in Munich --the fish/aquarium area in the zoo is 10 times better plus you get to enjoy a whole beautiful zoo. two thumbs down.

    Private tour with Barbara
My daughter wished for a visit to Sea Life as a reward for a stellar report card. Barbara made this tour something special for my six year old. It was truly a wonderful experience. Her enthusiasm, attention to detail, patience and knowledge captivated my daughter and made this a family day that she holds dear to her heart. This is less of a review for other visitors and more of a message to Barbara and her bosses. Barbara made our day. Thank you. From my daughter: “Thank you for letting us name the crabs!”

    Hmmm
It was too small and boring for that money. There wasn't even any small cafe - just a gift shop with candies and pop-corn and few tables. Saw better sea-worlds in smaller cities.

Decent enough aquarium, but it's pretty small for what you're paying for. An adult ticket is about 21 euros; you can finish looking through it in about an hour or so. It's mostly fish and a few mini sharks but nothing crazy. Plus, there are a ton of kids which is understandable, but they take up most of the space when they bulldozer through the exhibits since they're small.

Dear Sophia, thank you so much for your review! We are sorry that you found our price-performance ratio insufficient. We show over 2,000 marine creatures in 39 aquariums and let our visitors explore local aquatic life, among other things. Thus, the circuit leads from the Isar to the Mediterranean to tropical waters. Our highlight is our shark species, because here you can marvel at the largest variety of sharks in the whole of Germany. It's a pity that we couldn't completely inspire you with our inhabitants. Best regards from the SEA LIFE Munich team

This wasn’t top of our list for places to go in Munich, but after three days of rain it turned out to be a brilliant place to visit for the kids.

We spent almost two hours here, and the kids were enthralled by the sharks, rays, jellyfish and everything else in all the tanks. There are more than enough rooms and viewpoints to keep them interested, different tanks with different creatures, and even the chance to handle some of the things you find under the water.

Some of the rooms towards the start did get a little crowded, but it thins out as you go.

You might have to queue outside if it’s busy - the staff were handing out umbrellas while we waited - but they keep the queue moving.

Make sure you hunt around for discount leaflets or offers - we got 25% off with our Munich travel card, but I’m sure there are other (possibly better) deals as well, as no-one seemed to be paying full price.

Dear Tunes79, thank you so much for your detailed review! We are glad that you and especially the children liked it so much with us! We are indeed a popular destination when it rains, but it's also worth coming to us when the weather is nice, because you can relax wonderfully on our sun terrace overlooking the Olympic Lake. And you're right: we always have promotions with various partners where you can save big. Best regards from the SEA LIFE Munich team

Located in the Olympic Park next to the BMW World, only reachable by bike, scooter or feet.

Dont be fooled by the similarity of names.
Sea Life is not an amusement park like Sea World. There are no shows or coasters.

It‘s more like a small aquarium trying to bring sea life closer to the visitors while maintaining a good habitat for the animals.
Pretty cool is touching shark eggs at one point.

It‘s not a day filling activity, in about 2 hours max you have seen it all.

Dont miss the opportunity to sit at the back, when the weather is warm enough staff comes out and brings animals to hold and explain em.
Don‘t fall in love with those as they are mostly food for the fishes ;-)

Hi SebC210, thank you for your review! We show 39 tanks and 6 terrariums with several thousand fish as well as our inhabitants of the tropical island. And with more than 20 different shark species you can also marvel at the largest shark diversity in Germany. The focus is to playfully convey why the sea and its inhabitants are worth protecting. There are many interactive stations where visitors young and old can have fun and learn a lot. And you're right: After the excursion, you can relax on our sun terrace in the middle of the Olympic Park and treat yourself to an ice cream. Many greetings from the SEA LIFE Munich team

I know why many rank Sea Life so low, they just rush to it like in a Zoo.
But uis you take your time and talk with the Employers they will inform you about the Animals. So many of them have a Story you will miss by rushing.

Its Amazing, the employers make it even better.

Thanks Marcel an #Teamtotenkopfäffchen

Given the laws for the area, my family and I got COVID-19 tests before entry. We bought our tickets ahead of time and had a specific time slot. My husband tested positive even though he was Asymptomatic. Understandably, we went immediately into self isolation and could not go. The aquarium refused to refund our tickets even though we provided proof of a positive test and the test was in the location right outside the aquarium. I definitely do not recommend, as the tickets were expensive and they are very rude and inflexible. I would understand if the cancellation was for another reason but we have no control over testing positive for COVID and not going for everyones safety. Not worth the money if they can’t refund for having COVID.

Hello, thank you very much for your review! We are sorry that it did not work out with your visit with us. Cancellation (even under the mentioned conditions) is unfortunately not possible, but surely you were told that the tickets can be changed up to 5 times free of charge. So you could have simply made up for the visit at a later date, when everyone is healthy again. Best regards from the SEA LIFE Munich team

We were looking for a rainy day activity and decided to visit Sea Life. We have been to a few aquariums around the world, being in Munich expectations were high. And we were bitterly disappointed as there is not much to see and the ticket price is way to high for what is offered. Not that much to see, in 45 min you are done.

Can't really recommend, just disappointing.

Great fun for kids. Standing in the rain was not fun, but the staff gave us umbrellas. Visitors without a ticket bought in advance (online) had to wait a little bit longer.
