- johnsE1701PD0 contributionsWonderful way to see the cityHighly recommend this tour which will give you a great feel for the city; especially the stop in the beer garden for lunch! Can't praise highly enough our guide Susanna. She also did a great job in managing a group of 16 cyclists and at the same time remembering each person's name!Written September 8, 2024
- marcusc2790 contributionsFun Cycling and surfing in Munich - who knew 😁Great way to see Munich . Susanna was a fantastic guide for us and our family. Third Fat Tire Tour in a European city we have done and it didn’t disappoint. Munich and Bavarian History well described and at times very delicately handled as it is not always easy with WW2 issues . Beer garden and refreshments were perfect and the stops were fun … surfing in Munich - who knew 😎👏👏A great tour 👍Written September 1, 2024
- Explore3968360 contributionsPrivate Tour - MunichWe booked a private tour with Fat Tire Tours for the day after we arrived in Munich. This is our third time with Fat Tire (once in DC and once in Paris), and we couldn't recommend them more highly. The tour guides are well-versed in the area and the history, and they are flexible and great to work with. We really enjoyed getting to know Munich during the time with our guide Rob - he was a wealth of knowledge and wonderful! He did a great job connecting with both our daughters (ages 16 and 11) and keeping them interested in and engaged in the history of the city while also keeping us safe. Munich is a beautiful city and is so lovely to cycle through - thank you, Fat Tire Tours, for once again showing us so much of the city! Rob was also wonderful about grabbing photos of our family for us throughout the tour!Written August 18, 2024
- Escape5442210 contributionsA great way to see a lot of MunichMunich has good and well used infrastructure for bikes, scooters and, in this case, Segways. It's a really fun way to easily get around a large part of Munich and see a lot, with loads of useful local information and tips from Karl to give you ideas for places to visit during your stayWritten August 14, 2024

- nicolasbZ1025LD0 contributionsPerfect way to get an overview of the cityI loved this tour! Munich is flat so this is a great way to get a quick overview of the main sites. I did this tour first day in Munich, and then went back to spend more time to some of the spots that caught my eye. Guide was friendly and made the tour fun as he gave historical and cultural background. I highly recommend it.Written August 1, 2024
- 715jbg0 contributionsOne of the best tours in Munich !!!!!!This cultural bicycle tour around Munich has got to be one the most interesting tour I have ever booked. Our guide Canaan was more than excellent. He was knowledgeable, entertaining and quite insightful about the key sites we visited while enjoying our bicycle ride. I strongly recommend this tour !!!Written August 1, 2024
- I8134LOthomass0 contributionsGroup bike tour and English Garden stop a mustFat Tire Bike Tours is a great way to see the city, uncovering things you would not otherwise see. We spent 3-4 hours canvassing the city, hearing some great history covering a wide range from the early kings thru WWII and Olympics. The tour also introduced us to the English Garden - a must see our list. Beer garden stop a great experience and we went back later to swim in the river with the locals. Rob, Our Tour guide, was an amazing guide. The only downside was that we had 20 on our tour due to all in town for Taylor Swift. So that was a bit chaotic but had a great time.Written July 28, 2024
- jandbr0 contributionsGreat Overview TourThis was a great way to both get an overview of Munich and learn some of the Third Reich related history at the same time. Susanna was our guide and was patient and helpful. It was a pretty easy ride with several stops. The Beer Garden stop was a nice break in the day and the food was pretty good and reasonably priced. Family of 3, 2 adults and a 13 year old.Written July 20, 2024

An incredible tour with an excellent guide! The 3.5 hour length of the tour went by quickly. The segways were fun and easy to learn to use. They made a tour of the city much more feasible than walking would.
Our tour guide was passionate about Munich and its history. We were taken into the world of medieval Munich when it was a trading crossroads famous for its beer. We were also painted a challenging, but also hopeful picture of Munich's WWII history and its efforts to turn to a brighter future. I can't recommend this tour enough, despite its price, best activity of our European vacation!

What a great day out! First we had a reminder on how to ride a segway and the local rules, then we were off - history, sights, stories and insights from our excellent guide, Dan, who made the trip superb! Some of the group had not used a segway before but after 5 minutes they were very comfortable so don't let that put you off. Munich is an excellent city to visit this way due to the wide roads, cycle paths and open space.

This was a great tour and excellent value for money. We booked the 2.5 hour tour but as nobody has any pressing business the tour extended to just on 4 hours. The segways are excellent and intuitive to use after 5 minutes training. The guide is very knowledgeable and presents his tour with enthusiasm.

Very enthusiastic and knowledgeable guide, who came around a lot of relevant perspectives on the culture, history and architecture of Munich. And a very thorough introduction to driving segways. His love to the city and area made us conclude that we have booked way too little time here and we need to come back.

A fabulous insight in to the history of Munich and Bavaria. Our American guide was knowledgeable interesting and managed some of the more challenging facets of Munichs past with gentle dexterity. Familiarisation with the Segway was carefully and patiently delivered and we were given frequent reminders about the road rules and risks throughout the tour. This was a fabulous introduction to Munich covering a large area of the city and its history. Thank you.

Segway is great fun. Our guide Rob taught everyone how to be confident in about 15 minutes, then we were off. Rob was an excellent tour guide - knowledgeable and fun. You cover a lot of ground on this tour - physically and historically. You visit ancient and modern sites including the key Nazi points. Rob doesn't get too heavy but tells the stories well. He encourages questions and takes photos for you - which is unusual. An addition bonus is that Fat Tire will give you big discount on subsequent bike rentals. We went back the next day and hired bikes for 5 Euros each for a whole day! This allowed us to head east to the English garden then West to the Nympenberg Palace.

Fat Tire are the way to Segway in Munich. We had an excellent half day tour with Rob. Easily ride from place to place and cover a lot of the city in a relatively short time. Rob was a very knowledgeable guide and took us through a historical journey as well as being a great leader on the Segway. I couldn’t recommend this tour high enough for those who want some in depth knowledge of Munich. I always love riding the Segway as well. Thanks Rob and Fat Tire Tours.

What a great few fun hours. Mark our tour guide was very attentive and supportive, making sure we we all confident and safe on our Segways before we took to the road. The tour itself was extremely interesting and took in all the key sites Munich has to offer.

Casually paced our tour guide curated the stops to our interest. He added a stop to see the glockenspiel. The information was just enough for us. We covered all of the old city and the river and the newer portions. Also segways are so fun. We definitely saw some things we otherwise wouldn’t have come across.

Can i know which company is this? Is their site name called seg-tour-munich ?
Prices on TripAdvisor is slightly cheapers, but it doesnt say which route we are taking - Classic or III Reich Tour.
Written September 3, 2019
You know, these tours seemed to be operated under a couple of different names; not sure about that one. The one we went on had its office just off of Karlsplatz/Stachus. And we just did the general Classic tour — we wanted to do the III Reich tour but it was not available in English when we were there.

Does the 15:00 tour in English on 9/9/19 start at the central train station? We are staying at the Eurostars hotel on Arnulfstrasse. Thanks Hugh
