Planned an ambitious full day touring Munich and pleased to say I wasn't the only one. Started early with a trip to Dachau concentration camp which was as sobering and insightful as expected. This was followed by a rare and frank exploration of the Third Reich.
It would have been great if the trip to Dachau left earlier (as we ended up having to rush back to catch the Third Reich tour). We were asked to arrive 15 minutes before departure but ended up loitering for quite a while before finally setting off to the train station and then waiting for departure. It was a good opportunity to get breakfast next door but it would have been better if everything was planned for/scheduled

Thanks for the review. We ask all our guest to arrive 15mins before the schedule departure time of their tour. This is firstly so we have time to check all our guests in for their respective tours. It also means if everyone arrives on time we can even get things started a little earlier. Its sounds like you guys were some of the punctual ones arriving 15min early, as requested. It would be wonderful if everyone always did the same, though the reality doesn't quite always match up to that. It sounds like you had a valuable experience on the two tours all the same and enjoyed a little breakfast before hand which is great to read. Thanks for choosing Radius Tours.

Steve was our guide during the concentration camp tour and he was great. He was very informative and clearly passionate, yet respectful of the location. He made traveling from Radius Tours to the train station to the bus stop to get to Dachau very easy, especially for someone who has never been to Germany before. Later that day Josh led us on our walking tour and he was equally as passionate, but was able to be more expressive through the use of pictures, etc. Both guides had decades of research, both professionally and by their own personal travels which adds the whole experience. Would definitely recommend these two tour guides.

Grit our guide was excellent. She explained the history, life at the camp and the struggles of the people vividly. The tone was appropriate for the sober nature of the conditions.

Josh was amazing, the images and speech at each stop on the tour had great depth and he answered questions with ease due to his vast research . He was perfect for my son to help him in his History exams.

My husband and I did the combo tour and it was GREAT! I learned more about WW2 from these tours then I have from all the books I’ve read documentaries I’ve watched. Steve was our tour for dachaus and he was extremely knowledgeable and answered all my questions. Josh guided us for the third walking tour and he was fabulous. He presented the information in a way that made it fun and kept me interested for the duration of the tour. To visit the sights that the third reich used to meet at was wild. Overall, I’d recommend this tour to anyone and if I’m ever back in Munich I would definitely do them again.

The trip to Dachau was very well done - comprehensive and was dealt with the seriousness that it deserves. You can visit Dachau without a tour guide - there seemed to be sufficient information put up there. But for those of you who are short on time, this would be a perfect choice.

The second trip was pretty neat too. Loved the guide! However, I felt the trip to not be very well organized. It was a bit all over the place.

But if I had to consider making this choice again, I definitely would. I did learn a lot!

Achim was a fantastic guide. He was so knowledgeable and shared so much about history. I am a big history nerd, majored in history and am a teacher. Even having read a lot about this period I learned so many new things. The trip to Dachau was fantastic. There were some crowded spots but this is to be expected. It was the end of the school term in Bavaria and lots of kids needed to fulfill the requirement to visit Dachau after COVID kept them out. It was no problem because Achim brought us past the crowds and gave us all the info we needed. I loved the bookstore and could’ve spent hours there.
The walking tour of Munich was excellent as well. We walked around the “party quarters” and again Achim taught us so much about the history of the Nazis, Hitler and the war. It made my history nerd heart so happy to learn and see these sights that I had only read about.

Dachau tour with Mat was very insightful. May was very knowledgeable and engaging providing a lot of knowledge and insight into the camp as well as the area. Told the story of the camp and of the holocaust in a very structured logical manner and covered all read adequately in order for us to get the full experience.

The Third Reich tour with Josh was very comprehensive and informative covering the entire Third Reich from pre-inception until the end. Josh has put a lot of time and effort into his tour providing numerous images, maps and stories to tell the full story of the Third Reich.

Must do for history buffs and those wanting to learn more about WWII and the atrocities of the Holocaust.

Mat was an excellent tour guide of Dachau which is a sobering experience that everyone should do.

Josh was equally excellent and informative on his WWII walking tour of Munich. Visiting the specific sites where this history took place will be a lasting memory.

The entire tour is highly recommended.

Very fast paced tour but interesting if your are a student of Nazi history. The visit to Dachau is one that every American should attend to get an idea of what can happen when you have an ideology of hate, a megalomaniac as a leader and a business community that only cares about its bottom line.
As our guide kept saying, stay focused on your politicians to make sure it doesn't happen again. We live in stormy times!

We decided to do both tours. The Munich third Reich tour in the morning was a helpful foundation for understanding more once we got to Dachau. Keith was our tour guide in the morning. He was very good and very knowledgeable; we appreciated his candor. Most of the tour took place in old town, so we took the train to old town from the tour office at the station. We probably walked at least three miles on this part.

In the afternoon we had a short break, and so we grabbed a very quick lunch at the train station before meeting the group in front of the radius tour office. We boarded a train and the guide gave us some
History before we got off the train and onto a bus to Dachau. Train was about 10 minutes, bus about 5.

The guide did a good job explaining what happened here. It was eye opening and sobering to say the least. Hard to imagine humans treating other humans this way; but we know it happened all over Europe under Hitlers rule. Kathleen was our guide for the afternoon. She also did a good job and was very knowledgeable.

Overall we walked about 8 miles this day. Yes it is a lot, but for us it was worth it to learn about this part of history.
