Our four-hour tour with Vincent was exceptional! Not only did he teach our English-speaking group about the culinary highlights of Lyonnais culture, he also shared amusing and interesting stories of the city’s history. The restaurant and shop owners/managers whom he introduced us to along the way were all knowledgeable, friendly, and passionate about what they do. Importantly, there was no active selling going on. We were able to just enjoy our time and focus on the flavors and lessons we were learning. If people want to go back to those restaurants or shops later, they certainly can. We will! Excellent way to spend part of a first day in Lyon to get your bearings. The Vieux Lyon area is magnificent!

We think this was the best tour we have ever experienced. Megane was exceptionally knowledgeable and informative. She answered all of our questions in English even with our colloquialisms. We tasted cheese and meat, a traditional Bouchon lunch, chocolate paired with dark beer, and a praline tart. We wandered through the hidden passageways called Traboule. We also watched a demonstration of the traditional silk weaving with a Jacquard loom. We had a wonderful time and would highly recommend this tour to anyone who wants to learn more about Lyon’s food and history. Megane made the tour special.

This food tour is a must-do in my opinion! Very friendly tour guides who know the city very well. This tour is a great way to learn about the history of the city and how that intertwines with the food culture. My friend did this tour and recommended it, and I would recommend it too!

This was a perfect way to spend our first day in Lyon! Our tour guide, Vincent, was knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful! We were a bit concerned with how it was going to go, post COVID lockdown, but it couldn’t have been more perfect. It was not too ridge but also safety measures were respected. As for the content, we learned great information about everything from the city’s architecture to history and even saw a silk shop with and old loom and real silkworm, and of course tasted the most amazing food along the way. The shop owners were all lovely and everything we had to eat was incredible!! We tasted cheeses, traditional Bouchon Lyonnaise classics, charcuterie, chocolates, and some praline offerings. Plenty of wine and water were also available. Everything was local to Lyon and divine…and we were stuffed when we left! I would recommend this tour to anyone that is looking for a taste of Lyon mixed with some history. This is not to be missed and worth every penny!!

This tour exceeded expectations. Our guide, Vincent, was terrific and kept everything moving at a good pace. Vincent also talked to each of the 9 people on this tour which encouraged lots of engaging conversations within the group while we walked. Each of the food stops were very good to fantastic. Some of the shop owners were so passionate and clearly loved their “passion” for food.

The tour included a lot of information and history about Lyon and the historic old town area. Everything was interesting, nothing was boring.

I highly recommend it.

An amazing food tour by #lyonbiketours. Started off with sampling local cheeses and wine , followed by a visit to a local bouchon, got to try a variety of cured meats , some local beer to be had with chocolate and ended with the famous Lyon praline brioche and coffee. Our guide Pierre was so knowledgeable and had a great sense of humor .. #lyon #lyonbiketours #crémerielyonnaise

I can't pick a favorite part of this food tour because all of it was so wonderful. Our guide, Amandine, facilitated such a great experience, sharing the rich history and culture of Lyon while encouraging mingling among the participants. The food was delicious, and I truly learned a lot. As a solo traveller, this was the highlight of my trip to the city.

Vincent was enthusiastic about why food is so important to the Lyonnaise. He treated all of us like special guests at a dinner party. Vincent entertained us with stories about old Lyon, making the history of the city come alive. I highly recommend this tour to learn about and enjoy Lyon!

Oliver was a fantastic guide. We not only got a great sampling of Lyon’s food options, but also a wonderful look into the city’s history. But beyond simply being a good guide, he provided us with an experience closer to a good friend showing us around his hometown.

He was fun, personable, knowledgeable, and never felt like he was giving us a scripted tour. I cannot stress enough how great of an experience we had.
