Worth booking but....
It is a good use of an hour and value for money. A decent audio description of the history and views.

If it is full it might be a tight squeeze however.

I would recommend you book a specific time as you get priority.

However a nightmare to find the start. Literally you must find number 17 in the street it starts. We discovered the sign when the train arrived. We have used a lot of these “trains” and most have a booking kiosk. This one is in a shop by the bus stop with a very unhelpful sign.
You have to go into the shop to have your ticket “verified” before you can board.

Hello, thank you for your feedback. We are aware that the stop is not easy to find. Our starting point had to be moved following the many works on the streets. The signs at the stop is here to help our travelers and indeed you have to validate your tickets before boarding on the tram in order to welcome you in the best possible conditions.

Nice one hour tour of mostly the North side. This will probably get you into some neighborhoods you would have missed. Sadly, no off and on is included. Discount with the Lyon City Pass.

Disagree - not at all worth the money
The tram is very cramped with up to 13 people in each compartment (and stifling in summer). You don't really see very well (the so called glass roof doesn't help at all) and frankly apart from the featured painted building and a rather sad scrappy bit of roman ampitheatre there is little to see apart from modern buildings covered in graffiti.
You will see just as much by taking a 2euro bus up and walking around. Actually probably more... because you can't get even get off the tram for photos.
Bumpy waste of an hour.

It was a pleasant ride but what we saw was dispppointing. Only saw one of the frescos and croix rousse itself is a bit run down. Most of the trip was past boarded up buildings and dusty streets

Learning about Lyon

The tram trip was an excellent way to see Lyon for someone who has limited capacity for walking. Our only problem was that the speech portion of the audio tour was sometimes too low to hear, and the music was too loud. Nonetheless we really enjoyed it.

Take the tram vs the bus

The tram covered the more historic places. The bus stopped running at a location in town and we were told to disembark , wait a half hour, and then re-board another bus that was simply sitting at that location. We opted to leave the tour at that point. It was not worth the time and money. The bus took you to the more industrialised sections of the City that evoked no charm whatsoever. Lyon may be the Culinary Center of France, but it definitely lacks the charisma of Paris.

Very good. Nice information about the points of the city and some historical facts. The only problem in my opinion is that sometimes the audio comes after we have passed the building that they are talking about. Beautiful sightseeing. I recomend.

Hello, thank you for sharing your review with us. I understand your feedback about the difference of time between what your hear and what you see. The Lyon City Tram is running in the city center and it's sometimes difficult for the driver to launch the explanation at the perfect time due to demonstrations, accidents, traffic... However we hope that you enjoyed your trip to the Croix-Rousse!
