Overview
Beaujolais is renowned for its light red wines and this tour adds a fun twist to a wine tasting experience. Zip around the vineyards on a Segway, visit the medieval village of Oingt, and enjoy views of the French Alps. Finally, stop at a local wine cellar to sample a variety of Beaujolais wines, paired with tasty regional specialties.
What to Expect
Meet your guide in the morning or in the afternoon depending on the duration of your Segway tour. First, you will be trained on how to use your Segway. Then, you’ll be ready to enjoy the tour with confidence and pride. Each circuit is designed for everyone to enjoy the beauty of the Beaujolais countryside and its historical villages. You have the possibility to select a 1,15 hour tour or a 2-hour tour.

The 1 hour and 15 minute Segway tour starts from a wine-makers’ home, also known as a “Domaine” located in a charming village next to Villefranche-sur-Saone. Your local guide will take you through vineyards and other beautiful landscapes. You will stop to take pictures of the hillside and the many small villages surrounding them. After exploring the fields of nature, continue thru the medieval village of Oingt to admire its beauty and character. You will then head back to the wine-maker’s home by roads and through fields. You will be welcomed by the winegrower who will happily introduce his wines and local products to you.

The 2 hour Segway Tour starts from the Cave de Fleurie. It is a renown cooperative cellar where many winemakers of the region join forces to make a fine Fleurie Vintage Wine. Follow your local guide through the vineyards and enjoy the wonderful landscape and the fields of nature. You will make many stops to take pictures of the hillside and the famous church overlooking the Fleurie village. You will then reach a fabulous view point where, on a clear day, you can see the Mont-Blanc summit and the Alps from afar. You will then head back to the wine cellar by roads and through few fields. You will be welcomed by a winegrower who will happily introduce local wines and local products to you.
