Great guide, but the overall experience is very average and can be improved significantly.
Chris was great - very knowledgeable and helpful. We liked him a lot and he made experience good. But the selection of vineyards is questionable - the last one, Chateau Fortia, while considered to have some good vines (objectively/reviews), is not really worth visiting. Nothing to see and tasting experience is far below average at best. I contacted and tried to inquire the list before the tour and was told it will be selected closer to the tour. And when I inquired closer to the tour and asked what I was really interested in I was told the selection is set and will bee great. While first 2 chateaus are worth a visit and provide and good experience (Gardine, Nerth), overall I would not recommend and would rather pick the chateaus you like and go on your own schedule.

Intoxicated with the Pope's preferred Wine Appellation and History
Christopher is a responsible and punctual. He made sure he managed all aspects of this tour perfectly. We visited 3 wineries and 1 chocolate outlet. Also visited the ruins of the castle in which the pope had resided and which was then used by the Germans in WW2 and mostly destroyed. Had wine tastings in all 3 wineries. As Chateau La Nerthe was our first one we spend maximum time there with the very quirky Mr Alexi who was very passionate about all things wine. Interesting that one full section was blocked out & never discovered by the German overtake in WW2. After a fast lunch in a beautiful restaurant nearby, we visited Chateau de la Gardine with its funny bottle designs. Again the hostess lead us to wine tasting and we curbed our gulps and spat out more as we were getting intoxicated Finally we visited Chateau Fortia the smallest and me Ms Miguenelle and team. Time being short didn't visit the storage areas and bought some wines In between visited the Castle which was lovely and full of history, which we really loved but the heat was too much to stay longer. Finally the Chocolate outlet Chocolaterie Castelain was comparatively a let down as we couldn't see production. Also we do not get the choicolates we prefer to be packed and weighed and given we have to take the pre-packed sets. So we did. Mr Christopher on the other hand is knowledgeable, very interested in his line of work 7 that shows. Makes sure we are enjoying as well. Guides us on the right buys and was so wonderful to drop us off to the market center in Marseilles after a shirt stop to drop off our purchase at our hotel. He was so thoughtful to pack us some souvenirs of Provence. I would highly recommend Christopher always he is really wonderful person

The Romans, Van Gogh & Nostradamus
A day in Provence with Christopher is like a dream you want to keep having over and over again. There was perfect communication even before we met...with a great solution as how to see everything on my wish list. Somehow between Arles & Saint- Remy we managed to view magnificent Roman ruins, the street where Nostradamus lived, and where Van Gogh underwent treatment as he continued to paint. And the smell of the lavender just added to the mood. Besides being charming, intellectual, personable and all around delightful, Christopher was very attentive to my energy since I was still recovering from a cold and not feeling at all like myself. It truly was like being shown the in's & out's of the most charming cities by a close, personal friend. I only wish we had more time to spend (and that I had felt better). Do not hesitate to take a tour with OohProvence. It is truly an OohLaLa experience!

A highlight of our two weeks !
We had a spectacular day, very well paced and planned through the French countryside to small villages with Laurent, who must know every inch of the area. He is a great storyteller, funny, and opened our eyes to seeing things we may not have noticed on our own. Plus, he knew a few good shops along the way. Highly recommend him and this company. Their communications are terrific every step of the way!

        Absolutely recommend. 10/10 experience.
Our guide Laurent was a terrific guide. He was friendly, and incredibly insightful and knowledgeable with every place we visited. He tirelessly introduced and explained the history/facts of sites, monuments and areas. Laurent made the entire day an enjoyable experience. We were all comfortable and felt the day was easy and relaxed. We recommend Laurent to anyone looking to enjoy a day visiting and being charmed by Luberon villages.

This was a fabulous day tour for us
Laurent and Chris were fabulous, they were informative, interesting and helpful while being a little fun as well. They arranged and managed a great day for us amongst the town and chateaus that we loved from start to end. We came across the world to see and experience this - so high expectations…. And they exceeded even those.

Oh La La - A bit of French Country Provence in Napier - Quiet & Beautiful
Stunning Quiet Accomodation in Napier set in a quiet setting in a beautiful garden. We stayed for three nights perfect accommodation in French Country Style - welcoming muffins on the table. Two Rooms - Large Lounge at the front and good sized Bedroom out the back. The decor is antique French chic - comfy bed with high quality linen, good bathroom with hot shower and fluffy towels. There is a self service breakfast of cereals, fruit and toast provided along with coffee pods, teas. There is a microwave. This was all adequate for us but others may wish to go out for dinner. We absolutely loved this accomodation check in was easy and friendly. If you love something that fits in with a beautiful garden with mature trees and statues that you can take an evening stroll in. You might see a rabbit and there are some quail as well. The garden has a gazebo and covered area just outside for use. This is suitable for couples.

        Simon/Cupkovic French Experience
Our guide, Laurent Nurisso, was excellent. We actually did three full day tours including the tiny hilltop villages tour from Gordes to Lourmarin, Marseille, Cassis, Nice, and Cannes, among other cities. It was historical, educational, fun and a real exhilarating workout, too! On future trips to France, we would definitely use OohProvence again and strongly recommend them!!

        Absolutely Wonderful!
My husband and I were on a cruise and had limited time to explore Provence. The Ooh Provence team organized a perfect day with visits to three wineries, a fantastic lunch, and a beautiful drive with views of Mont Sante Victoire. It was a bank holiday, so scheduling visits required an extra effort, but it was absolutely perfect. Highly recommend!

        Excellent Tour
This private tour was well worth the price. Our tour guide, Laurent, sent us a text message the night before to introduce himself and let us know where to meet him at the cruise port. He was there holding a sign with my name right on time. We arrived in Provence early so Laurent took us to the top of the mountain where we were treated to magnificent views of the French countryside. He took us to three local wineries of varying sizes, but all of them were small, family owned vineyards where we received personal service and a personal tasting guide. Two of them gave us an extensive "behind the scenes" tour of their own wine making process and we walked the vineyards, entered the cellars and saw the holding tanks and barrels so we could see how the wine is processed from vine to bottle. One of them had a small restaurant where we enjoyed a delicious lunch, accompanied by their own wine, of course (the lunch is not included as stated in the tour description but it was not expensive). Our guide ate lunch with us and we enjoyed getting to know each other and became friends. We tried so many different wines that we lost count, but it was probably close to two dozen by the end of the day. The car was very clean and he had cold waters for us as needed. Laurent even gave us a small gift upon departure. We felt fortunate to have such a local, knowledgeable guide - it felt more like a family friend showing us around his town. I would highly recommend this tour and that you request Laurent as your guide.

        An amazing experience!
Christopher is an excellent guide. He provided us background in the region and guided us through our tastings in our first visit to Chateauneuf du Pape. I highly recommend Oop Provence if you are traveling in this region. They can enhance your visit and mike it unforgettable. The private tour is so worth it!

        Best vacation experience so far!
We had a great day in Châteauneuf du Pape with Chris! It was nice to have everything arranged beforehand and get a second take on the wineries and the history of the region. Lunch was a real treat, and we liked the wine so much we ended up shipping a case home. Overall a great experience, especially if, like us, you only have one day to take in the Châteauneuf region!

This was a fabulous tour - from exploring the history and architecture of Arles to enjoying the nature and beauty of the Camargue. It was an area I have long wanted to visit and Christopher was an incredible guide. We saw so many different intriguing areas but the day still felt very relaxed - it was like a day trip with a long time friend rather than a formal tour. I can't recommend oohprovence and Christopher Curtis enough, and definitely look forward to more tours with them when I am next in Provence.

Thank you for reviewing the tour - I had a great time too! The nicest thing doing what we do is that we get to share a little bit of your vacation. The Camargue is a really interesting part of Provence - very different to the cliché, Provence and combined with the ancient Roman town of Arles, we hope to show a new angle to what people know and understand - we are lucky to live in such an interesting and diverse region. Look forward to catching up with you next time you come visit and hope all is well in L.A! Best wishes Christopher OohProvence
