      Bike adventure in Marsilles
I enjoyed the tour but it did contain a lot of gravel surfaces which my wife was not prepared for. My e-bike had gearing issues and the guide (Martin) swapped out for me. Bring lots of water in July.

Spectacular Route des crêtes ! Great rental at Evtt Provence
Super service with rented road & electric bikes at Evtt Provence in Marseille. A fantastic family and friends tour from Marseille to La Ciotat via La Route des crêtes (no cars allowed on Sundays). We were really well attended at Evtt for the rentals. Will definitely do again, not many option to rent both electric, gravel and road bikes at the same shop !

      This operator ruined our day!!!
We were misinformed about how far this was from the cruise ship port. We were advised to take a 20 min cab. It is at least an hour from the cruise port. We were 5 minutes late and advised them of this 20 minutes before departure time and they left without us anyway. I would not recommend doing any business with this company, nor would I recommend Viator because they don’t stand behind you in any circumstance when the tour operator does not deliver.

Awesome e-bike tour of national park
Incredibly fun time in the Calanques National Park traversing the limestone hills on our e-bikes and then ending with a swim in the Mediterranean! Our tour guide was fantastic; he was so friendly and ensured each of us on the tour had a great time! I would 100% recommend doing this tour if you’re holidaying in Marseille!!

A truly unforgettable experience that anyone visiting Marseille should experience!
We spent two weeks traveling across Europe, doing many fun activities and tours. This was our favourite experience by far. The views during the ride are awe-inspiring and riding and e-bike through the mountains was thrilling. Our tour guide was phenomenal; very knowledgable about the area, the path we were taking and the bikes. After a big bump, my bike suffered a fault that I was certain to make it impossible to continue the tour, but my guide managed to MacGyver together a fix using zipties and and a twig. A truly unforgettable experience that anyone visiting Marseille should experience!

      Wonderful e-bike tour!!
This is the perfect port excursion for active cruisers and far superior to a canned tour. Frank was our guide through the city and Calanques. I had personally never rode an E-bike so it took some effort to get used to it but Frank would cue the group when to change settings and gears. This is a mountain biking excursion, so being comfortable with heights, steep downhills and off-road terrain is important. But boy were the views worth it! We also got in some swimming, which was terrific with the warm late-June weather.

Great experience and a lot of fun
We had a really great tour! It was so much fun to ride on an e-bike, it was very easy and convenient. The landscape was beautiful and the guide supported with little tricks and tipps. We also had a Stopp to take a swim at a beautiful little beach. It was an amazing experience and we would recommend the tour 100%. The staff was extremely friendly although we had some booking issues (it was our fault), thanks again for being so flexible.

      Excellent activity
We did the three hour tour. The family rode e-bikes. I chose a mechanical bike for training purposes. I wouldn’t go mechanical unless you ride 100+ miles a week and 3,000’ elevation. Great views and route. Chance to swim at a halfway spot.

Amazing trip - do it if you can!
Amazing trip, incredible views, great stops, and the bikes re very capable making a rather inaccessible trip via foot (would take a full day on foot) efficient and easier. Would highly recommend. Cyril was awesome and was a great compliment to our tour group. Bravo!

We had an amazing adventure with Thomas! The ride was a bit challenging but he broke it up and was very aware and attentive to keep us all together. The views were breathtaking! We got a bit of history as well as a fun ride. It was interesting learning about the area from a local. It was a windy day and one of our party got winded and Thomas stayed with her and modified the journey to keep us all safe. We came from a cruise ship so it was a bit of work to get there but they were great about communicating on the timing to make it all work. Ride of a lifetime!

We are from the US and we’re not prepared for the level of experience needed for this trip. We had no previous experience on an electric bike, so if you do, then you will be much better off then we were, because there is a learning curve for operating. The trip starts off across from the beach in Marsallies in a garage. There were no restrooms facilities. The one public restroom about 100m away was not working. This was a problem since we were not staying nearby. Had to ask at some local establishments and offer euro to use facilities. After a very quick, somewhat confusing lesson on how to use bikes, we set off on very narrow crowded streets with a multitude of cars, trucks and busses, uphill, around quick, curved sloped roads. European riders seem to be very used to this. We were not and it was scary especially since we were not experienced on the gears. When we did get to the park, the scenery was gorgeous, absolutely breathtaking! We only made it through 1/3 of the trip because the surface was gravel and uneven, and there are many cliffs, no guardrails and we were warned of some steep uphill terrain coming up ahead in the tour, so we decided to turn back, not wanting to hold up any more experienced riders or risk injury. Our guide was a lovely man and gave us very good directions on how to get back into town. We were glad to have the opportunity to see what we did. I would recommend tour, but only if you have experience with the electric bike and riding in heavily trafficked areas, as you will need to do this for about 40 min to get into the park and then get to the trails that are no access to vehicles.

1st the Positive: The views are amazing as you would expect from the tour description. The Sormiou Calanque and beach front are beautiful and excellent opportunities for photo ops.

Now things to be aware of: The Business location is across the street from the gas station and may take a few minutes to find. That coupled with the fact there are no bathrooms there and your group must all be helmet and bike fitted, I'd recommend to be there 10-15 min early. As it was, we had to wait for a couple that arrived 15min late which put us behind the time schedule.

I would at least Look at an e bike Before you take this tour. The e-bikes are not identical and the instruction was spotty in my opinion. I learned the Most about e bike operation from Another tourist.

The degree of the hill climb on a gravel and rock road I was prepared for. It was challenging for this 60+ couple but we expected it and we were ready. What came as a surprise is that cars are coming with in Inches of you as you are biking up and down some of the roads. In fact the Real challenge came as we got into town and we navigated around cars, busses, scooters, motorcycles, skaters, etc. The roundabouts were the most challenging

In our group We had 2 gear chains come off and a flat tire. On two of those we had someone bike up to the front and get one of the guides to comeback and address the problem. At one point the second guide did not know which way to proceed as we were out of sight of the group . Everything worked out but I would think the second guide would be assigned to bring up the back of the group incase of any issues and that there would be a predetermined route for the tour.

It was commented in our group by experienced bikers that This Is Not an Introductory level course but for experienced bikers. Bottom line is , the views are beautiful and the course challenging. Just beware of some of the other Not so obvious challenges

Thanks for you participation and comments. I am a little bit surprise by some of your comments . We give many explanations before the tour both french and english. Apologize if it was not clear enough. With big groups we organize the tours with one guide in the front and one in the back. It was the case during this tour. We try to be out of traffic jam most of the time. But Marseille is a big city. 90 % of the tour is on cycle lane, small roads and forest tracks. This is a miracle in this city.

A brilliant way to dip into the beautiful Calanques National Park on two wheels. We had an excellent guide and well-maintained e-bikes to take the strain as we buzzed up and down forest gravel trails and roads. Highlight of the trip was cycling down (and up) the hairpin bends of the road leading down to the most beautiful cove where there was time for a cool drink or a dip in the clear blue waters off the sandy beach. A couple of words to the wise: this requires you to be confident on a road or trail bike as some of the routes are quite challenging. The hills are real and while e-bikes are amazing you’ll still need to put in a little effort. We absolutely loved it, would do it again and thoroughly recommend it x

This was the highlight of our holiday. The scenery was fantastic. The quality of the bikes and experience of our guide meant our group had a wonderful day. Our guide showed us how to use the gears and motor on the bikes so that our group all managed to keep up for the whole ride. The group contained all ages and abilities. Would recommend this you to anyone as a fun way to see the beautiful coastline of Provence.

We booked this as we were on a cruise heading into Marseille. There was a strike at the port the day we arrived & the dock workers were not letting traffic in or out. About 9:45 they stopped striking & we were able to leave - we should have been at the tour for 10am & it’s a 25 minute taxi ride from the port but Nicholas waited for us.

We were in a small group & it was amazing! The views were unreal & he was very knowledgeable & shared lots of information with us.

The bikes make even the biggest hills easy & the 3 hours went by in a flash.

    We’d highly recommend.

You can get a small boat opposite the rental place for 5 euros each into Marseille afterwards.

Amazing views high atop the calanques via e-bikes!! Nicholas was a great guide not over supervising but helpful in preparation from one destination to the next. The e-bikes were extremely helpful cycling rugged terrain and keeping up. However, I have been cycling for the last six years on a road bike in America and this experience was honestly terrifying as a “senior” and not a local, navigating traffic, rocky terrain, and new bike inexperience. Be aware it’s a memorable time but not for those who are risk adverse! Would I do it again? Probably! Was it worth the price? Definitely! Nicholas was especially considerate of English speaking guests!!

Great bike ride with amazing views!! Electric bikes helped with the steep climbs, but it still required some effort that a moderately fit person should not have a problem with. It was nice to have a 30 minute break by the water too. Definitely recommend.

My family of four (including 2 teens/young adults) had quite an adventure on this bike tour. Technically, we all know how to ride a bike, but this tour definitely involved more challenging terrain than we are used to. Uphill climbs, sandy and rocky trails, maneuvering around traffic - it was an experience. A couple of us fell at various points, though not terrible falls. User error, for the most part. Our tour guide was fabulous. He explained everything before and throughout the tour, and he was very patient with those of us who took a more cautious pace.

Was it worth it? Absolutely! The views are breathtaking, and there is a sense of accomplishment once the tour is completed. Our guide kindly took photos of everyone at various points throughout the tour. He also fixed my bike a couple of times when my chain came off. My bike just seemed to have that issue every once in awhile when switching gears.

The e-bikes are amazing! The only way I would ever have made it up a couple of those hills. They are very easy to use. Our issue was mostly with dealing with the terrain vs using the bikes.

It’s a great way to see the park. I recommend it, but note that it is not for those who are not comfortable bike riders. You don’t have to be an excellent rider (I mean, we survived), but comfort or confidence level is important.

The trip was fantastic. The bikes were brilliant to ride and the tour around les calanques was incredible with some challenging sections made comfortable with turbo mode on the bike.
The scenic calanque we visited gave us a chance to have a swim and enjoy a beer by the water.
Nicolas was a brilliant guide- very knowledgable.

The only downside was due to the size of our group (12) we had a couple of slower individuals which held up our progress a touch. To his credit, Nicolas was extremely patient with them.
Overall would 100% recommend to anyone
