About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:

- coletted1550 contributionsNice afternoon tourWe were excited about doing a wine tour in Avignon that did not take up the whole day, so this was perfect. One note, though. Eat lunch beforehand as this particular wine tasting tour did not offer food pairings, just wine. Our guide was funny, knowledgeable, and made an extra effort to connect with all of us. Highly recommend!Written September 19, 2024
- BirdieLue0 contributionsPerfect tour for cruisers who stop in Marseille, FranceThis tour was specifically tailored for sailors stopping in port on a cruise, and I was sailing solo on Virgin Voyages. The tour was called "Shore Excursion: Aix-en-Provence and Cassis." Our lovely guide, Ines, met our small group of seven at 9:00 right as we left the port area. Short walk. Super easy! The van was a Mercedes, and the drive to Aix was lovely. Ines was so friendly and knowledgeable and shared so much interesting history with us. She walked with us for a short time in Aix pointing things out, and then we were on our own to explore. Aix is called Little Paris for a reason. Simply adorable. From there we drove back to the coast to the village of Cassis. She took us to a look out point first (incredible) and then we drove down into the village. Some of us took a boat ride which was breathtaking. I enjoyed some local wine and just had a lovely day all around. We were back to the ship by 4. I can't recommend this tour enough! The company, A la Francaise is very easy to work with and helped me out tremendously because I left my bag of souvenirs in the van. Amelie went to a lot of trouble to get them shipped back to me in the US. I am so glad I booked directly with them and not through Viator.Written September 19, 2024
- Karen W0 contributionsWine tasting in ProvenceFlorian (I am sorry if I spelled this wrong) was our amazing guide for our afternoon wine tour. He was so nice and informative. Our tour was in English, and there were only 6 of us total. He personalized the tour, he was easy to understand, and you could really tell how much he loved Avignon, Provence, and the wines produced there. The booking provided clear and easy meeting point instructions and everything ran smoothly.Written September 2, 2024
- jordansS473MS0 contributionsProvence Guided Walking / Driver Tour - HoneymoonMy wife and I had an absolutely wonderful experience A La Francaise Provence as a part of our honeymoon. We leveraged the business over the course of two days to assist with walking tours of Avignon and Saint Remy, trips to wineries Chateauneuf Du Lape and transportation services to and from our hotel. Overall, the experience was well organized, able to be flexed accordingly and fairly priced. Our guide, Emile, was 10/10. He was kind, timely, flexible and incredibly knowledgeable about an array of topics, answering any and all questions about the region we had (especially about wine!) We recommend his services to any individual, couple or group traveling to the Provence area. Additionally, he was an excellent driver, making my wife and I feel completely safe each time we joined him in the car, even through the tight streets of some smaller villages. We will be sharing details of the company and experience with all friends and family looking to book trips to the region in the future.Written September 1, 2024

Make sure to take the stairs to the top, if you’re feeling up to it! Our guide with the spectacular mustache was absolutely amazing. - W82HDrachelb0 contributionsThank you Sylvia!Had a wonderful time (despite the heatwave!) exploring the art history of Provence. We stopped at Arles and St-Remy de Provence, but saw miles of beautiful countryside in-between. Our guide, Sylvia, was incredible! Her knowledge of Van Gogh and the region's history was amazing, and she made the tour feel very personalised to us. So grateful! As English speakers, the tour was very well adapted to help us get the best experience and Sylvia's English was fantastic. Would recommend to anyone interested in Van Gogh, or just new to the area. Thank you!Written August 8, 2024
- SonnyLondon0 contributionsA great way to see some of the highlights of ProvenceOur tour guide Remi drove us around hot Provence in a wonderfully air conditioned mini bus and gave us a brilliant explanation of Provencale history, cuisine and culture to set the context for our visits to the picture postcard beautiful towns of St Remy and Baux de Provence. Walking around these idyllic relaxed towns was a treat. But the jaw-dropping highlight for me was the Pont du Gard whose Roman majesty has stood the test of time through two thousand years. Great itinerary with plenty of time to soak up the atmosphere in all three locations. A very time efficient way to spend an afternoon while in Avignon.Written August 6, 2024

Good in theory and spirit, but poor execution. We were a large group and got divided up into two vans. About half way through, my van had to go back to Avignon to pick up people who had booked just a half day tour, resulting in less time for lunch in one of the villages. Since we then had new people, some of the same information was repeated. The two vans had different experiences, timings, and information.
Our guide, Jerome, was hustling to give us a good experience and stopped at a few extra sites, which was appreciated. However, we drove around in circles, took short cuts that actually took longer, and it was clear there wasn’t a set established driving route. Also, we were driving waay to fast and still it took 11 hours. Maybe less is more?
The website advertised a skip the line experience at Pont de Gard so I thought that included the museum/experience/top of the aquatic-duct, but really it was just access to the site itself.
In the end, we did make it to all the sites as advertised, mostly, but it was an experience and a little more finisse is needed.

I read reviews here and tried to follow them up to see if I wanted to spend a day this way. They were mostly true. What I missed is this. If the company wants to adjust, it will. We ended up with what amounts to two half day trips because the company put half day people with us in the morning and then in the afternoon. Driving back to Avignon is a big waste of time (like an hour and a half?). The tour is very rushed as it is. For instance, we only drove through St Remy. Had I known this could happen, I would have cancelled. We still had fun but it felt too irritating to recommend

This tour offers experience of different parts of Provence, mainly in Luberon. Opportunity to see some nice little towns, Roman monument of Pont du Gard and some nature gems. Itinerary is well designed- packed, but not exhausting. Mini van was comfortable and our guide Florian was very nice and experienced and ready to answer all our questions. This tour is not focused on lavender fields, although we have seen some on our way. The tour started and finished on time, pick-up was according to the plan.

We were extremely pleased with our small tours on October 1 and 2. The bus was a great size, and the driver was good. We loved our tour guide, Lucy, she shared wonderful information and moved at our pace. We were able to take photos and walk a little slower when needed.
I appreciate your flexibility when our numbers were changing and when we flipped the two days. I would highly recommend to anyone to use your company. Thank you!

A fun trip around Avignon. Our tour guide (Jérôme) was both knowledgeable and experienced. He gave special attention to both the rhythm of the whole group and of individuals/families with special needs. When I go back to Avignon for the theater festival, I’ll certainly take the tour again. You just can’t get enough of Provence, can you?

When I planned my visit to Provence, I saw that there were many places that I would not be able to visit owing to not driving and the lack of time. This tour gave me the opportunity to get a true taste of Provence by seeing many of the sights that I would have skipped. Pont du Gard, les Baux, St. Remy, Gordes and other towns in the Luberon were on the itinerary with a lot of free time at each allowing exploration. This long (10 1/2 hours) and exhausting day did for me what I could not do for myself. Thank you!

We did a day trip with Provence Reservation leaving from the Avignon Tourist Information Office. The company was very responsive to our queries during the booking process. Our guide Remi was knowledgeable about the area and friendly. For the first part of the day we visited the towns of Rousillon, Gordes and Fontaine-de-Vaucluse. In each place we were given about an hour to explore on our own. This was a great part of the day, and we were lucky to have good weather – Remi knew the best places to stop for good photo opportunities. We had to buy our own lunch in Fontaine-de-Vaucluse. Recommend ordering food before walking up to the spring as it is about 20-30 minutes return walk and we didn’t have much time to eat afterwards (although we were allowed to eat food in the minivan if needed). In the middle of the day we returned to Avignon to collect more people for the afternoon. This felt like it added a bit of time to the trip as we had to navigate the Avignon traffic. In the afternoon we had a brief stop at some Roman ruins near Saint-Remy-de-Provence before visiting Les Baux-de-Provence for about an hour and then Pont du Gard for about an hour. It was a long day, from 9am-7.30pm, with a lot of driving, but it was a good way to see the different parts of Provence while leaving the driving and navigating to somebody else. Overall recommend this tour.

I signed up for this tour as described on the Trip Advisor page. I was looking for a tour that included the Carrieres de Lumieres at Les Baux along with the villages. When we got in the van our guide reviewed the day's itinerary and it did not include the Carrieres de Lumieres. I asked her about it and she said it was a trip only to the Provence villages. There was nothing to be done at this point so I just went with the flow. If you want to see this particular sight, however, do not take this tour. If they don't include a feature in the itinerary it should not be listed on the tour description. Everything else we visited was fine and the guide was satisfactory, but the tour description needs to be accurate. No satisfactory reason was given for the exclusion,

The tour was very thorough and well organized. We saw all of the sites as advertised. The van was comfortable and had adequate space. The times allocated per scheduled stops was about right. The best feature was our guide , Olivier. He is very knowledgeable of the cultural, political and civil history of Provence, France and Europe. An excellent learning experience.

This company’s “grand tour”...
Had a wonderful day touring with Emmanuel. He accommodated is with requests for extra time where we wanted and skipped things we didn’t want! He was a wonderful driver - not all great guides are also great drivers!
This was the most comprehensive tour that could be booked. We left at 9:00 in the morning and got back after 7:00 pm!!! Just remember that it’s a full day!!! Pack some waters to bring in the van. Maybe some snacks...it’s a VERY full day! If you ask, your driver can stop and get you a “grab and go” lunch...our version of this tour did not have a lengthy lunch planned.
