Excellent day tour of Utah, Omaha beaches and related areas
An full day tour from Bayeux made exceptional by our friendly guide Julie. She explained the allied objectives and the problems they had to overcome were visible first hand. Our first stop was the church at Sainte- Mere- Eglise and she offered a few new explanations regarding the parachute landings there in the opening hours of the landings. The museum at Utah was very good and we spent a good time on both Utah and Omaha beaches with Julie explaining in detail the problems the allies faced. The defences and topography of Pointe du Hoc were amazing with so much battle evidence still visible. The tour finished with a stop at the Normandy American Cemetary, a fitting end to one of the most memorable days we have experienced... much of which can be attributed to Julie's knowledge and enthusiasm...

Excellent tour to one of the most surreal places
We did the full day tour to Mont St Michel (from Bayeux) in early January 2025. The trip to Mont St Michel itself is a couple hours each way, so you spend a lot of time on the road, but our transport was a nice new Mercedes van so it wasn't too bad. You get to see a bit of the countryside at least. Mont St Michel itself is unreal. You've probably seen pictures, but you don't really appreciate the size, scale and beauty of it until you're standing right in front of it. The place just oozes history, having been around in some form for more than 1,000 years. A couple dozen people still live there, and there's plenty of souvenir shops and eateries to satisfy your touristy needs. Our tour guide Kate was awesome. Not only does she have a huge amount of knowledge about the buildings and monastery on the mount itself, but she also gave us a LOT of information about the history not only of Mont St Michel itself, but also of the surrounding region. In short, a great tour to one of the most visited places in France (and rightly so). Highly recommended!

        Must Do from Bayeaux
Eric was an excellent tour guide. He’s very knowledgeable, and you can see his passion for WW2. It was a jam packed tour and one of the highlights of our trip. We only had 5 on our tour, so it felt like a private tour. The van is comfortable, and the stop for lunch was very good. I liked not having the food price included. This is an absolute must do in your lifetime. These men sacrificed so much for freedom. I’m so glad we did this tour from Bayeaux. It gave us extra time at each location.

        Highly recommend this great tour!
We had the best day! The tour that Alec gave was so informative and very interesting. The visit to the beaches, The Utah Beach Museum, and the stops in between were fantastic! The American Cemetery in Omaha Beach is so moving and breathtaking. Be sure to be there for taps. What a beautiful and emotionally great site that pays tribute to those who gave all. Alec’s recall for numbers and interesting facts is remarkable. He, an Englishman transport who lives in France knows more about the USA, Great Britain and France together than anyone - especially ourselves!

        Omaha Tour
Ou guide was very knowledgeable and made very efficient use of the time allotted. He spoke English. I would definitely recommend and take this tour again. The area is large and the history vast, this tour allows for a good understanding while also covering a lot of areas geographically.

        A meaningful experience
I have wanted to see the Normandy beaches for quite a while . Finally had the opportunity in December. The weather didn’t really cooperate, but we were ready for it. The stories of Eric , our guide, were still compelling and he clearly knows his stuff. We were a small group of 8 in the van and as expected at that time of year, it was pretty empty. We really got a good sense of what the fighting had look3d like. I’ve taken off one star because I felt very rushed at our last stop, the US cemetery. It was closing at 5, we got there about 4:30 and they wouldn’t even let us walk all the way down because it closes at 5 on the nose. Nor did we have time for the Visitor Center there, which I had read was fabulous. Sadly, this was because we spent about 45 min listening to Eric while standing outside the first stop at the church. While interesting, that stop could easily have been 15-20 minutes which would’ve left us more time at the end. I felt as if our timing was off all day.

A memorable trip to St Michel's.
Katell picked us up in her clean and modern Mercedes van and drove us from Bayeux to Mont Saint-Michel. The journey took about 90 minutes, after which we made our way to the island. Katell's English was excellent, and her historical knowledge of Mont Saint-Michel, the Normandy region, and the military involvement during World War II was outstanding. She patiently guided us through each area of the monastery, explaining everything carefully, passionately, and precisely. The pace of the tour was perfect. Well done!

Fabulous and deeply moving day on this day trip from Bayeaux. Matt was the tour leader, and from beginning to end, he brought to life the history of the D-Day landings and the weeks that followed. Highly recommend.

        Awesome tour !
The trip to Mont St. Michel was an excellent day ! We were delighted with our tour guide Julie, who described the history and uniqueness of the site with great detail and showed us the distinct beauty and highlights of the area and took the extra steps to answer all of our questions. We highly recommend her for your guests !

        Best Tour Ever!
This was, by far, the best tour I have ever had and the highlight of me and my wife’s France trip! Bucket list item checked off! Seeing the sites of where American soldiers landed and jumped into Omaha Beach and Utah Beach was amazing. My great uncle was at Omaha Beach on D-Day and to see where he landed was a moment to remember. Eric, the tour guide, was very kind, very knowledgeable, and all around amazing. We will definitely book with Gold Beach Company again!

        Memorable Day in Normandy
Alex is a terrific tour guide! He has an extraordinary understanding of World War II Normandy, and he's passionate about the people who have stories that need to be told. His telling of those stories in the places they occurred is incredibly moving. He's also very funny. The combination made for a very enjoyable and memorable day.

        Incredible Site, Solid Tour
This was a well-organized tour of an amazing place. We thoroughly enjoyed visiting Mon St Michel, from the long walk across the land bridge to the climb to the top of the monastery. Our tour guide was good, very knowledgeble and personable. I would have enjoyed more interaction - more stories and chat - during the long drive between Bayeux and the site (and back). Otherwise, very pleased with the tour.

        Excellent Tour
This is a full day tour of the D-day area, with five stops - the town of Sainte Mere Eglise, Utah Beach, Pointe du Hoc, Omaha Beach, and the American Cemetery. We had some free time at Utah beach to visit the museum (entrance fee included in the tour price) and at the cemetery. The tour was well-organized and our guide was excellent. Every stop was interesting and the stories from our guide were moving. We especially appreciated the sequence: visiting the cemetery last, we were in time for the daily playing of taps and lowering of the flag - a very nice ceremony.

Excellent trip Lucas ran in a knowledgeable, efficient and accommodating way. His English was perfect. He took time to gauge what we were interested in and when we said, the individuals stories bring the history alive, he creatively tailored the trip to small sites he said he often didn’t go to but this led to a fascinating trip. He did the headline sites too. Unhurried, keen to answer detailed history questions, we had an age range of 72 to 22 and all loved the day. I would strongly recommend this tour and if fortunate enough, Lucas as the guide.

Arthur was an exceptional guide and provided us with a rewarding and personalized experience. Our tour was on June 6, the busiest day to visit, but he knew how to avoid the crowds without missing any of the major sites. He was knowledgeable and passionate about WW2 history and showed us many lesser known sites with fascinating scenery and artifacts. Highly recommended

We had an outstanding private tour with Thomas. His passion and knowledge of WWII in general and of the sites we saw was far beyond our expectations. He was kind and patient with our questions. He took us off the beaten path to see some unique bunkers that were not on the main tourist sites. He kept our 3 teenage daughters engaged with his props and pictures and stories about specific soldiers. I truly recommend a private tour with this company and with Thomas if you are able to book with him. It was a highlight of our trip and well worth the money.

My entire life I have wanted to come study in the footsteps that my Grandfather took in Normandy. I was extremely close to him and this was a very personal experience. No ordinary guide would do. I have a B.A. in Military history which set the standards high. To make things even more difficult, I needed to see where the 90th Division fought which is not as nearly publicized as other units.
When we arrived in Normandy Matt had requested a brief ice breaker in the evening before we got together the next day. Matt arrived and immediately pulled out a photo of my Granddad and said “Is this Seth?”. I couldn’t believe it! It was a photo even I had never seen. He had spent much time studying and preparing for us. I immediately knew we had the right man! Matt took us to the main attractions as expected yet went above and beyond taking us to all the off the beaten path locations making my personal trip more than I could have ever asked for!

We had a wonderful 8 hour tour with John taking in all the D Day sights. He was extremely knowledgeable about the activities of the WWII that surrounded the landing at Normandy, both on the beaches and the surrounding countryside. Would highly recommend this tour to anyone wanting an account of what happened during this amazing time in history!!

Phillipe, the co-owner of Gold Beach, expertly guided me through the museum, Pointe Du Hoc, Omaha Beach, and the American Cemetery at Colleville-she-Mer. I was able to see sights that otherwise I would not have located, such as the panoramic photo of Omaha Beach from where Medal of Honor recipient Jimmie Monteith captured and disabled WN60. Excellent value for my first visit to hallowed ground.

We had a two-day private tour with Alex. Thorough, thoughtful, detailed and enlightening visits and insights to Juno, Omaha and Gold beach invasions. My only regret is that we didn't have longer. We are big fans of one-on-one tours and Alex was as good as one can get. Simply terrific two days! Thank you, Alex and Gold Beach Company.

Our guide Thomas is both a Historian and Archaeologist. Having grown up in the region, he has the perfect background for a tour guide. He enthusiasticly shares his knowledge of the D Day invasion with both a historical perspective as well as with anecdotes he has gathered from returning veterans. His day tour of the American beaches includes all of the key locations. And, if you want to visit a specific site, he will take you there as well.

Matthew, of Gold Beach Company, was an absolutely wonderful guide. He was professional, courteous and amiable. His knowledge of the Normandy WWII sites and battles was encyclopedic, and he was passionate in conveying the power of the events that took place there. I would recommend him to anyone planning a visit to any of the historic Normandy sites.
