Fantastic tour of Normandy Battlefield sites!
What an amazing 2 day private tour! Our guides Olivier and Anton went above and beyond to make our tours both as informative and memorable as possible. Their history knowledge of the areas was admirable but most of all we enjoyed the stories of soldiers they shared with us, as they were most moving. We are so grateful for this humbling experience and thankful to these gentlemen who made it so special. A very big thank you Olivier and Anton! I would highly recommend Overlord Tours.

Moving day touring WW2 sites and surrounding towns.
My friend Craig booked our private tour for 4 in July 2023 for our October 2024 cruise ship stop in Le Harve. We chose the following Itinerary - Longues sur Mer Batteries, Omaha Beach, American Cemetery & Bayeux. We met our friendly and charming guide Ben at 8 am and off we went. His breadth of knowledge was outstanding and along with his maps and photos really made D Day come alive for us. Because of the small van size we were able to directly access Omaha Beach and stand where the US troops had landed. Looking up the bluff as our troops did that day was incredibly moving. The beautifully landscaped and tranquil American Cemetery overlooking Omaha Beach was wonderful as well . We really enjoyed our visit to Bayeux with its beautiful cathedral and gorgeous tapestry museum. Relaxing lunch in town and we headed back to Le Harve. Unfortunately due to a random road closure we did not stop in Honfleur but used the rest of our time to tour around the port city. There were huge stockpiles of wind turbines that will soon be placed in the ocean. I can not say enough how much our group enjoyed this tour, tires and all! (Inside joke)

      An emotional experience
We were so fortunate to get a last minute reservation for the 9B Day Tour, with pick up and drop off from our cruise ship. Valentine was a wonderful tour guide with a wealth of knowledge about D-Day - as we visited Omaha Beach he showed photos and maps to take us back in time and even drew a diagram of the Allied invasion in the sand. Our visit to the American Cemetery was so moving, we just wish we had more time there to see the Visitor Center. Our visit to Bayeaux was lovely and we had time to enjoy a stop at a restaurant to get crepes, at Valentine's recommendation. Our final stop at Honfleur was lovely - just long enough to stroll around and visit a few shops. I think I would have given up some time at either place to have more time at the American Cemetery. An experience I will never forget and am so grateful we had the opportunity to go with Overlord Tours.

Great tour - Ben was awwesome!
We had a half day tour with Ben. He was absolutely a delight. My 24 year old son was with my husband and me. He said he found Ben to be very engaging and he paid attention to all the details Ben told us about. We had time to walk on the beach and it was extremely low tide - Ben showed us the yellow buoy marking where the tide was when the boats landed on the beach. By the time we left the tide was coming in and the buoy was surrounded by water. The cemetery was also very moving. We cannot say enough good things about this tour and especially Ben who made it a trip to remember!

      Great tour, fantastic tour guide.
This tour was fantastic. My wife and I are huge WW2 history buffs and the tour and information we received was very accurate. Our guide, Adam, was knowledgeable and funny. We had an incident right at the beginning of the tour where a local farmer blew out one of the windows of the bus, and Adam acted like it happens every day for him. He continued with his discussion on Omaha beach, let us walk around for a while, then led us on foot up to the American cemetery. He told us he would leave us to explore for an hour while he picked up a new van. He had it down to the minute, and exactly an hour later he was pulling up to continue on to Pointe Du Hoc. Great tour, would 100% recommend Overlord tours to someone looking for a WW2 battlefield tour group in Normandy.

We had a great day with Antion, fantastic content and great Band of Brothers insights. We visited many of the sites that easy company called home for a night. Saw where they took down enemy gun installments. got a more realistic understanding of how many other great less publicized feats of bravery added to the overall success of operation Overloard

PERSONAL, INFORMATIVE, UNIQUELY PERSONAL WWII tour
NOT TO BE MISSED. Our guide Ben was AMAZING. Not only does he possess a degree in military history but grew up in a near by town making his information uniquely personal. We could never have covered as much territory with efficiency of travel if we were on our own. Ben's stories were incredible and painted a wonderful picture paired with the environment we were treking. Our tour was completely in English so we didn't miss a beat of information we were seeking. This was worth every single penny we spent. Highly recommend.

      Mandatory for All Americans
Oh my gosh! This tour was EXCEPTIONAL! Our tour guide for Omaha Beach was Remy. He is a WWII history buff. It's his passion, and it shows. He was unbelievably knowledgeable, provided us with personal stories about men who were heroic on that date in June of 1944, and could answer all our questions. I would recommend this tour to EVERYONE. It is difficult to get out to Normandy, so make the most of your time by using a professional guide. Remy made our visit just that much more. The Greatest Generation set the bar high. To hear about them and the undertaking that was Operation Overlord is truly something every American should always remember.

      An Experience of A Lifetime!
This was the best tour I have ever went on! It was an experience of a lifetime and the OVERLORD tourguide, Guillame made that possible for my wife and I along with our 4 sons. With the aid of photos and maps, he made the tour come to life for us. He fulfilled our every wish. It truly was an amazing adventure.

      3 wonderful experiences in Normandy
We had 3 full day private tours. One of Juno, one Omaha and one Band of Brothers. Antoine, Remy and Ben were each fabulous. Knowledgeable and enthusiastic and all the time in the world to adjust to our requests. 5 stars each. One very tiny note is to the invitation to provide this review; you mention only the U.S. The 4 of us are Canadian and one lost a relative in the war. Not to minimize at all the contribution of Americans to the war, but they were not alone

Antoine, Remy and Ben - all 5 star OVERLORD guides and experts on D Day and the beaches of Normandie!
We were fortunate to have 3 different guides for our 3 consecutive day tours - Juno, Sword, Omaha, Utah, easy Company - Band of Brothers but equally knowledgeable and wonderful to be with. Individually and together their expertise was top notch. We had 3 cold, rainy days but no corners were cut. We saw everything we hoped to see and many expected bonuses. We were so happy with their unified approach that it is important to remember theses soldiers and their battles

      deep knowledge exceptional experience
My son and I took a 4 day private tour that included a special day devoted to my fathers time in Normandy with the 4th Infantry division. Our guide, 'Thierry, was always on time and deeply knowledgeable. My son was a career airborne soldier so Thierry adjusted the tour to our special interests. the experience was exceptional and I would recommend Overlord tours to anyone interested in an unforgettable experience on Normandy. Good advice for lunches also!

Best Tour we have ever experienced
We had an amazing tour by our guide, Oliver. It exceeded our expectations as we were on a trip with a great friend where this was on his bucket list. Oliver was so informative and knowledgeable with a great sense of humor. I would highly recommend. Probably the best tour we have ever experienced.

Perfect 1/2 day Normandy tour for our day trip from Paris!
Great afternoon tour by Steven! This was my 3rd time to the area but I wished I had done this tour earlier! Steven’s knowledgeable insight made this such a rich experience for my wife, and in-laws (first visit for them). The balance of time between Omaha Beach, US Cemetery, and Pointe Du Hoc was perfect. If there is a down side at all, it’s that the timing doesn’t give you a ton of time to meander or contemplate at the sites. It was a great pace for us to take the train up and back from Paris and make this a very memorable day trip.

This was a fantastic tour. Our guide, Pierre, was excellent. Very knowledgeable and able to answer every question he was asked, including some fairly obscure ones! He presented the information in an interesting way, easy to understand and not just ‘facts and figures’. The stories of individual exploits and heroism were particularly engaging. We visited quite a few sites but it didn’t feel like we were overloaded. There is so much to see that you can’t see everything in one day but I really felt we got an excellent and comprehensive experience. Booking was easy and the office person I dealt with was also very good with info about parking, timing etc. 10 out of 10 all round.

From signup and pickup to drop off, the tour exceeded expectations for this very special trip. First, the company is very wonderful and friendly while booking your tour(s) and answer all questions very quickly. We opted for the Omaha and Utah Beach full day tour with pick up in Bayeux.
The pickup area is clearly marked and well organized - especially when the clearly marked vans arrive. Our guide (Valentin) greeted us all warmly and we are off on our day trip. He explained the day very clearly, answered all questions we had when we started off, and then we began our busy day.
Our guide was a wealth of information! Not only did he clearly explain the history and significance of each of the sites he also had some other stories of the areas we were driving through and was beyond prepared to answer our questions. He also had so much passion for the history. We also ran into some of the other guides along the way and they too seemed very friendly and very familiar with the history.
The tour itself is a very special visit to history, especially if you have family ties to D Day, Normandy, and/or WWII. The full day tour was emotional and special and I highly recommend this tour for those who really want to learn even more about D Day and World War 2. The guides put so much into learning about the sites and battles that I recommend this tour for those who want to engage and ask questions. This is more than a site seeing tour - it's an opportunity to learn about history in a very personal way.
I cannot thank the Overlord Tour Company enough for making my visit to where my father and uncles landed between June and August of 1944 the most special first time visit and experience.

Outstanding tour!!! We have used several tour companies across Europe. This by far was the best tour company and guide we have ever used. Our guide Ben was fantastic. A local to Normandy and has a passion for history, and the back ground for it, as he has a degree in history. His attention to details and his story telling in a comical way, made this tour enjoyable for even my teenagers. Who generally don't pay much attention and don't typically enjoy these trips. We were in a group of 8 and after the first hour, because of Ben, we all felt like friends discovering history together. We can't thank Ben enough for sharing his time and stories with us. And to cap this off, this was cheaper than all the big tour companies that pop up on the top of a Google search. Do yourself a favor and scroll down a few ads and look for Overlord tours when booking a guide for Normandy.

We had Remi for a guide for our group of 8. He picked us up promptly and was a knowledge guide including photos of the areas we visited that gave us a good historical view of what happened at the time. He was able to tailor the tour for our group and also accommodate for the weather which was blustery cold that day. He selected an excellent restaurant for lunch and even allowed us the opportunity to visit Honfleur which was not part of the original tour, but a place the group was interested in visiting. I highly recommend Remi and the Overlord Tour to learn about the history of the area.

We had no idea what the private tour would entail aside from touring the major landing beaches and possibly a museum. We missed the museum but I’m really glad we did. Remy was our guide and he 100% went above and beyond. He handled working with our son so well and was beyond patient while explaining each sight we went to while also pausing for our son’s endless questions or distractions & getting right back on track when we got distracted with our son. A private tour was the best way for us to go about the tour and albeit pricey, it was what we needed with an active little one. I remembered seeing a Band of Brothers tour option online after we were through the majority of our day and we got a tiny bit of it at the end but we’ll be back for a full on Band of Brothers tour for sure! As soon as I mentioned Band of Brothers to Remy he just lit up with even more knowledgeable
information and took us to a few places that were part of the series. Being able to see real life locations from a well known show is something we’ll never forget!

An amazing experience and unforgettable at that. Overlord was the best choice for a tour we could have made for Normandy and seeing the WWII history and it couldn’t have gone any better!

Only suggestion we thought of (which was hard because it truly was such an incredible and essentially a flawless experience)… when we went to Saint Mere-Église, we saw the Airborne Museum which has a gift shop so we did ask Remy to take about 15 minutes to find a memento for home. He was 100% ok with it and said we had plenty of time to add it in. A stop like this built into the private tours (and even group tours) would be genius!

Overlord Tours gave us exactly what we wanted, a private tour with who we consider their best guide Mickaël Patin - courteous and with expert knowledge on the subject of D-Day Operations, unit and personnel.

Originally booked and paid for in October 2020, they maintained our reservations and honored the original price and requested guide. This was our 2nd visit and we continue to learn the events and terrain.

I have an avid interest in WW2 and have a family member buried at the American Cemetery, first time to Europe. I researched several "D-Day" tour companies and was a bit late in doing so, discovering many tours were already booked a few months before our trip. Fortunately there were two spots available for a full day beaches+St. Lo tour with Overlord which had mostly favorable reviews onine.
Very professional operation and our guide Remi was outstanding with a deep knowledge of every place we visited (and there were many). Not only did Remi educate the group of about 8 (all couples from the States) about the "big picture" pre, during, and post D-Day but he added multiple layers of nuanced detail and information of the areas we visited. Remi's English was perfect (he has the best darn hair!) and the flow of the day was just right.
    Comfortable van
    Umbrellas provided
    Pacing-timing perfect
Private time to reflect at the cemetery and at the beaches
    Highly recommend, book early.

We weren't sure what to expect booking a tour of Omaha + Utah beaches for late Nov, but this tour highly exceeded our expectations. The weather cooperated, we practically had the place to ourselves, and were accompanied by the best guide - Thierry. Thierry was very informative and engaging, and a phenomenal story teller. His interest in the subject matter was palpable and infectious. This is certainly not "just a job" for him, instead you can tell Thierry prides himself on being able share the area's history with its visitors. He's the kind of person you'd want to spend a full day with - and that we did. The van was spacious and clean. We had options for lunch, and our stops were perfectly timed to ensure we were able to see & do everything on our itinerary. This review is an easy one to write, and we won't hesitate to get in touch with OverlordTours if we make it back for further exploration of Normandy.

This tour provides a good overview of the landing beaches and a couple of other sites related to D Day. Our guide, Thierry, was knowledgeable, articulate, and gracious.

He had some helpful maps and interesting pictures, which were presented at various stops along the tour.

We had toured the area on our own several years ago—I would definitely recommend visiting the sites with the benefit of a guide.

Unfortunately, the visitor center at The American Cemetery was closed due to covid, so we were only able to tour the cemetery.

The tour makes for a long day, but is very worthwhile.

And thanks to Thierry, who kindly returned my scarf to our hotel after I left it in his van!

My wife and I did the Overlord tour#2 full day. This was an outstanding experience and our tour guide Remy was excellent. His depth of knowledge, professionalism, experience, and passion was top notch. The amount of preparation was readily apparent, maps, pictures, and the lectures he gave at each stopping point were truly enlightening. We could have spent all day at each stop enjoying his lectures. We are very pleased with our tour.
The van we rode in was very nice, it fit 8 people comfortably and Remy continued his lectures on the region as we travelled from site to site.
I recommend you carry a backpack to store water, snacks, and other essentials with you. There is a lunch stop in Sainte-Mer-Eglise where you are able to get a sandwich or two (not a full sit down meal, due to time constraints) and then you are able to tour the airborne museum. After the lunch and museum visit, your tour continues.
It is a full day tour, we arrived back in Bayeux around 6:30pm.
