What to expect
Depart from your Bayeux hotel in a private, air-conditioned vehicle and get acquainted with your accomplished guide as you drive through the picturesque Norman countryside to your first historical destination. Discuss your flexible itinerary with your guide and adapt your tour according to your interests.  Head first to the landing beaches of Omaha Beach and Utah Beach to delve into the turbulent history of the sites; browse the intriguing exhibitions within the Airborne Museum of Saint-Mere Eglise; and take moment of quiet reflection at the American Cemetery, a commemorative area dedicated to the American soldiers who died in the bloody D-Day battles.  Continue to Sword beach to see the site on which the British invaded Normandy and then enrich your historical knowledge further during visits to the Hillman Bunker Complex and the Merville Battery Museum. Read moving messages that pay testament to fallen soldiers in the Commonwealth Military Cemeteries and then feast your eyes on the ancient architecture of Ardenne Abbey, a sacred structure in which 11 Canadian prisoners of war were executed.  After your explorative excursion, return to your Bayeux hotel in your private vehicle and bid your guide farewell.

Visiting Normandy highlights with Rene
Nov 2019 • Friends
This was our first visit to Normandy and we had an excellent guide in Rene, a very knowledgeable guide who had excellent English and was a gracious host. He picked us up at our hotel in Bayeux and we enjoyed a very memorable day with him! We so appreciated the personal tour!

The jewel of the trip!
Oct 2019
My husband and I spent two full days with Adrien in October on a private tour of the Normandy beaches, Sainte-Mere-Eglise, Point du Hoc, the Bayeux Tapestry, and a calvados distillery. Adrien spoke perfect English, and could not have been more solicitous about what we wanted to do. He was a great host in all respects, as well as an excellent driver, and that Audi was certainly comfortable! He picked us up right on time at our hotel. His knowledge of everything we saw and a variety of other subjects as well was nearly encyclopedic. He was an engaging story-teller, and talked just the right amount. He timed the sight-seeing very well, and found a wonderful local restaurant for lunch each day. We learned things we would never have learned in a museum, and felt as if we got to know a Bayeux native in the process. We found ourselves missing him during the rest of the trip!

Best day of our entire trip!
Jun 2019 • Friends
My mom booked this tour mainly for my dad between our stops in the Loire Valley, Mont St. Michel and Paris, but both my parents, my best friend and I had the most amazing day thanks to our guide, Phillip! When we walked around Pointe-du-Hoc and heard the other tour guides robotically rattling off their scripts devoid of personality or passion, we knew how lucky were to have such a knowledgeable and honest guide! Omaha beach, both the American and German cemeteries, Pointe-du-Hoc and Bayeaux were all incredible and moving. By the end of the day, it was if our friend we’d known for ages was showing us around instead of someone we’d only met earlier that day. Thank you for such a fun and interesting day! Looking forward to drinking my calvados! :) Couldn’t recommend this tour more!

Private Tour from Cherbourg
Oct 2018 • Couples
We were on a Seabourn Cruise and hired NST to do a private tour for us. Adrien was our guide and he spoke flawless english. We were picked up right at the ship in an Audi A8. He struck the right tone of telling the human side of the time as well as the military battle plans. We spent the entire day with Adrien and left feeling like we had learned so much about the bravery and sacrifice of so many. Truly a day to remember. Thank you NST.

Inspiring D-Day tour
Aug 2018 • Couples
After many trips to France, this past August we decided to include a visit to the Normandy as part of our trip. To make the most of our time, we decided to book a private tour with Normandy Sightseeing Tours. The entire experience far exceeded expectations. In short, our tour guide was awesome. His knowledge of the region, history of the events & planning of the D-Day invasion were nothing less than amazing.
Our guide was extremely professional, on time, courteous and explained everything in detail. His English was outstanding, so we understood every point he made. On a private tour, it is the customer’s responsibility to provide lunch for the tour guide. He made a reservation at a wonderful small restaurant along Omaha Beach – it was delightful. We were picked up at our hotel in Bayeux on time and returned on time as well.
I high recommend Normandy Sightseeing Tours. Their guide gave us a wonderful day along the coast and allowed us to understand and interpret the great sacrifices the Allied troops made during this dark period. The day made us proud Americans.

Outstanding Private Tour
Jun 2018 • Family
We spent two days in the Normandy/Bayeux area with our tour guide David Basnier. We had high expectations for our tours and he exceeded them! From the time he picked the four of us up at our hotel to when he dropped us off at the train station on the second day (making sure we got on the correct train back to Paris), he was a first class tour guide. He is extremely knowledgeable and clearly loves sharing the history of the region. We can't say enough good things about Mr. Basnier.

Thoughtful, insightful and historical overview
Jul 2018
Karine did an excellent job sharing the history, sites, knowledge of the area. This was a moving and impactful tour for my family of 6. I highly recommend her! She even planned out our trip so we would see the lowering of the flags at the US Cemetery at 5:00. This was a moving experience.

Bucket List experience
Jun 2018 • Couples
David Basnier (met us at the train station) took my wife and I and our two friends on the tour of Normandy Beaches and did a marvelous job in explaining the sites, took us to a great lunch spot and managed the time so we could see everything. What really was my highlight was seeing the US Cemetery and the taking down of the two flags at the site. I highly recommend this tour to all history buffs, an experience you'll never forget.

A Tour of Mixed Feelings
Jul 2017 • Friends
I am older, having been born during World War II. My father was a part of the war in Europe, and the invasion of Normandy has always stood out as the defining moment of this war. So, my expectation was one of reverence and awe. I was expecting more memorial and less commercial. The result was mixed, and I will explain.

This is not to say that the tour itself was below expectations. Our guide was well versed and very personable for the entire tour. I recommend this tour to you.

When one thinks about the invasion of Normandy, one thinks about beach landings and assaults. In reality, the assault at Pointe du Hoc required an ascent straight up the 150 meter cliffs, and right into the teeth of the german defenses. Two of three lives were lost here. Yes, you see the concrete bunkers and artillery positions, and you get a good description of what happened here. But, the level of commercialization is such that it is a bit off-putting. The beaches of Omaha look and feel essentially like a resort, and with little or no memorialization of the bloodiest battle of the invasion. Too bad.

The American Cemetery and Memorial, on the other hand, is just what one would expect. It is an awe-inspiring, beautifully-situated memorial that appropriately honors those who sacrificed all for the greater good.
