I took my kids, 10 and 13, to Stephane's course not quite knowing what to expect or what they'd make of it. Three hours later as we emerged from the restaurant where the class is hosted, my son turned to me and said "That was SO cool!" and my daughter added a happy "Yeah!"
Stephane goes into detail about what makes a good crepe work -- why the ingredients are what they are, the role each plays in the crepe, why the proportions are what they are and what goes wrong if any of those are off a bit. Many tips about how to mix properly and why it's important to go fast sometimes, slow sometimes and the order to mix things in.
All of this is interesting but also gives you confidence that you'll really be able to reproduce great crepes back at home if that is a goal above and beyond the experience itself.
The experience itself is worth the visit on its own. Stephane is enthusiastic, always ready with a helping hand or tip. And how often do you get to step into the back of a real working kitchen in a restaurant in Paris and give the main course a try yourself? And have it work out just great?
Stephane seems committed to not just providing a great experience but to sincerely giving us a chance to make great crepes at home. We're all looking forward to giving it a try when we get back

My wife booked this wonderful crepe cooking class for the whole family. We are a family of four with a 16yr old and a 13yr old. Stephane was just an amazing teacher and passionate crepe maker. He had a really fun enthusiastic flare that really made the class so much fun. Our kids were a little skeptical of the whole idea until Stephane starting presenting his love of crepes. We all had a blast. We all learned something we will keep with us for life. And we all want to make crepes at home! For something fun and different in Paris, take this class! It is so well worth it AND you get to eat your own very delicious crepes :^)

This class was extremely fun and informative! Chef Stephane kept the class engaged with his sense of humor. The history of crepes was especially interesting. The class was technical enough to learn why and how ingredients are used without being overwhelming. His step by step instruction for the technique of crepe making was easy to follow, resulting in the best crepes I have ever had from any restaurant! My teenage daughter loved the class too. Definitely make time to take this class!

My granddaughter (13) and I thoroughly enjoyed this class. It was the perfect way to end our trip to Paris. You make your own dough and then actually try your hand at making the crepes. They turned out delicious. We learned techniques that can be applied to cooking and baking in general. Chef Stephan is great and I highly recommend the class.

My wife and I did this class for my birthday.
Stéphan was immensely entertaining and such a patient instructor. He told us everything about the preparation for, history of, and cooking of traditional crêpes. I had no idea there was so much to know!
After the instruction and cooking, we sat down for two servings of our delicious crêpes accompanied by Stéphan’s delicious, homemade sauces.
If you’re into gourmet food and fascinating history, book this class!

Fabulous way to spend a few hours! Stephane was a wonderful communicator; his love of crepes and gallets shone throughout the class. Great for family groups or on your own. Maximum of 8 people gave everyone an opportunity for hands on practice. Even though my crepe wasn’t shaped perfectly, it tasted amazing! Definitely have to try this at home!!

I've taken a handful of cooking, and baking classes in Paris. Of them all, this class is my favorite. Stèphane, the teacher, chef and owner of Caramel Sarrasin was truly exceptional. The class is informative, warm, friendly and so much fun. Class sizes small, so it's intimate. I highly recommend taking this class.

My family and I had a terrific time with Chef Stefan. We had four children with us who ranged in age from 9 to 18. Everyone had a great time and learned a lot about crepes and galettes. The crepes we made were delicious and Chef Stefan took time to make sure we all understood what we were doing and had a great time. He was very patient with us all, especially the younger ones, and he had a great sense of humor.

Wow! Our family including a 17, 15 and 11 year old loved this experience. Stephane is engaging, informative and talented.
Our class had 8 people which is probably the maximum for a comfortable class.
Upon arrival, Stephane provides you with local cider (alcoholic and non alcoholic) and water - you can have as much as you would like through the night. Everyone also gets a disposable apron. So you don’t need to worry about destroying your clothes.
Thanks to Stephane, we learned not only the secrets of making delicious galettes and crepes but the history of the pancakes. He has great energy and excellent story telling skills. And his special sea salt caramel sauce is the die for! Don’t skip that!

We loved this 3 hour crepe making class! Chef Stephane was funny and charming while sharing the history of crepe making, and was helpful and patient as we each took turns making crepes from start to finish. All worth the reward of eating our creations, yum!
