The BEST tour company in Europe!
Meet the Locals is THE BEST tour company in Europe!! Our family has been a client of Meet the Locals for the last 7-8 years, since we first started to travel to France with our children at age 3 and 5. (They are now 10 and 12). Their entire team is absolutely amazing and have created so many memories for us – private tours of the Louvre, Versailles, Musee D’Orsay, sweets tours in St. Germain, the Tower of London, and others. Each of our tours have been geared perfectly towards our children’s ages and interests and have been fun and entertaining for both children and adults! They offer a great selection of options on their website and will always work with you to tailor to your interests. We first met their team while in Paris, and they now offer tours in several countries, including Italy, England, and Scotland, and of course many great options across France. On our most recent visit for Christmas 2024, we had yet another amazing experience with a city walking tour of Strasbourg, France with Christelle (Who we knew from a previous tour in Paris the year before!) that gave us a chance to learn about this beautiful city and experience their Christmas markets. We finished our holiday trip in Paris with a sweets tour in Le Marais with Amy, who gave us a wonderful day strolling through Le Marais, learning about its architecture and history while tasting a variety of delicious Parisian sweets. I highly recommend meet the locals for families and adults alike who are looking for a memorable and first class experience while in Europe!

Kid friendly and engaging tour of the Tower of London!
Mehru guided us on a tour of the Tower of London and was fantastic! We were a group of six adults and six young kids ranging from 3 to 9! She was patient, knowledgeable and engaging! Highly recommend!

Amazing personable experience with our guide Laurine at the Louvres. My kids loved loved it!
The tour company was great and our guide Laurine was amazing. Laurine made the treasure hunt/art history experience memorable for each of my kids and for us adults. She was able to meet my kids at their different developmental phases (4 year old and 7 year old), had a different booklet for each of them, and was so interactive. Thus my daughters loved her and loved learning about the art work and history and were able to walk for 2 hours in the Louvres (something that they usually whine about). The communication with the company was very reliable and seamless. I would definitely use the company again for our family travels.

Family Chocolate tour in St Germain
We had a wonderful time with Blandine! She was incredibly patient with our kids and made sure we got to hit all the spots even though we were running a little long. The kids loved all the treats and we got some great history of the city along with tips for other parts of our trip. It was definitely a highlight of our time in Paris for both us and the kids!

    Great experience!
Sonia was absolutely fantastic. She was kind and very engaging. She was good at tailoring the tour based on our kids' interests. We had a really great time on the tour and learned a ton! I would definitely recommend this tour to anyone with kids. Without this tour, we would have been overwhelmed and the kids would probably have been bored and complained a lot!

    Tower of London Scavenger Hunt
We booked the Tower of London Kids Tour for July 26, 2024. The booking experience was easy, and communication with Albane was great right from the very first click. On the day, our guide Mehru created an amazing experience for our multi-generational group of five (ages 7 to 77). We really appreciated how she was able cater the tour to our group, sometimes even on the fly when our daughter surprised us by being a little more scared of the gruesome details of history than we all expected. Mehru was able to find places for us to sit, take photos of our group at the best spots and even offered to video record us climbing up a very tiny spiral staircase. I won't spoil any of the really creative details of tour, but needless to say, more daughter loved the special touches. Even though the tour was a little on the expensive side, we could definitely recognize the difference in quality service, Mehru's impeccable knowledge of the different towers and layout of the Tower of London, the history of all the people who have inhabited the castle, and it's greater importance within the history of the City of London. We absolutely could not have replicated the experience on our own. This was definitely the best tour we booked of our entire two week trip. If I could give more than 5 stars, I definitely would. We highly, highly recommend, and will hopefully have the opportunity to book another tour the next time we visit the UK or Paris.

    Amazing Family Adventure
We did multiple tours in Paris and London over ten days with seven family members of three generations. It would not have been possible without the expert assistance starting with Dominique, who planned our visit and Sonia in Paris and Catherine in London, who were excellent guides. They engaged the teenagers and made sure the grandparent using a wheelchair was accommodated. Every tour was informative, well paced, and fun! They took such good care of our group, making adjustments as needed for traffic, kids' jet lag, etc. The kids' favorites were the Street Art and Baking Macarons workshops in Paris and the speedboat on the Thames in London. Everyone loved the Eiffel Tower, the Louvre, the Tower of London and Hampton Court. There was just the right amount of history and fun facts to keep everyone going. Thank you to Meet the Locals for making this a trip of a lifetime for our family.

Average guided tour of the Louvre
We booked the Family treasure hunt private tour at the Louvre, timed entry. Our tour was suppose to start at 9am. Our family arrived on time at 8:45am. Our guide was a little late, few min. We waited to enter and then proceeded. Our tour didn’t actually start until 9:20am and it was suppose to be for 2hours. Our tour ended at 10:55am. I was expected actual two hours with our guide exploring the Louvre, and instead we got 1.5hr. She had an activity book for my two young ones but basically ended it went the 2hr window was over. Beware it’s not actually two hours, but they include the time it takes to enter. I also had a teen louvre tour booked for the same time. We were a large party and the tour guide on that one had to check in her battery for her bike and we all entered at the same time. She also finished about 11:15 am (only 2hours instead of 2.5hr). I think the guide should have been able to show more and explain more. And for what the company charges, I felt it was very expensive and I didn’t get what I paid for. Beware that your actual tour will be shorter than the time listed.

    Such a memorable experience!
Booking our tour was so easy and accommodating. By taking the tour with Doina I feel we recall a lot more of the magic of Versailles and this period in history. Doina’s knowledge of Versailles and French history meant our questions could be answered and the handy workbook for the kids meant they took home a special memento of their visit. Thanks to having a dedicated guide we have some very special family photos to remember the visit. We visited on a Sunday and the lines weren’t too bad but still very handy to be able to skip these on a hot day with little people.

    Fantastic Family Experience
Just wanted to drop a quick review letting everyone know how my family and I highly recommend the Louvre, Sainte Chapelle, Tuktuk Paris tour - special shout out to our guide, the amazing Lauren. My kids absolutely loved the treasure hunt at the Louvre. We did a handful of other tours during our Europe trip and this was by far the best.

    Full Day Tour of Paris!
Nathalie TRES BONNE!!!!!! Ma fille l’aimait et Nathalie est favourite! She was the perfect way for us to start our Paris and French vacation! Nathalie was great connecting with our daughter who started out quiet and shy...we learned so much about the city and spent some nice time in Montmarte, which is where I (mom) was most interested in, as I knew we wouldn't get there without a guide! HIGHLY SUGGEST!!!!

Not skip-the-line but a great guided first taste
Two hours would never do justice to the Louvre of course - but we chose this to ensure our 13 and 11 year olds got a feel for the place whilst not missing out any of the most famous exhibits. Cindy was very personable and knowledgeable about the museum and its contents, as you would expect. She did an admirable job maintaining a level of enthusiasm and engagement with two children who had not slept enough the night before. For the purpose for which we purchased the tour, I would not hesitate to give it five stars. One point which could be made clearer is that you may still need to spend 20+minutes at the start clearing security as the entry tickets get no special treatment - which was a little disappointing given the price of the tour. Other than that minor niggle - five stars and highly recommended as a first taster of the Louvre.

    Meet the Locals are Outstanding!
The six of us, four adults and two young children, recently visited Paris for six days. We wanted to visit both Musee d Orsay and the Louvre. We didn’t want to spend most of the time waiting in lines and we wanted a plan to see the good stuff. So we engaged Meet the Locals to guide us. A wise choice At the Musee d Orsay Fernanda was our guide. As an employee there she got us through the lines and knew the place like the back of her hand. Her English was perfect, she was personable and knew her subject matter. She explained the great works with just the amount of background to keep us all engaged. An outstanding young lady! At the Louvre we signed up for the Treasure Hunt to engage the grandkids. Our guide was Tatiana. She completely captivated our grandchildren. They were excited about the hunt, had fun and learned a lot about the art. Two days well spent producing a lifetime of memories.

    Family excursion at the Louvre
Excellent family experience!! Jessica was amazing. Our boys were engaged and very much enjoyed the learning activities. We were able to see many of the key works of art in a well organized set of activities. One of the highlights of our family vacation to Paris.

    Great company
I highly recommend this company. Dominique helped organize a wide variety of tours for my family in Paris including the Louvre, the Orsay, Versailles and Montmartre. She was super responsive to my emails and calls and made sure all the details were worked out before we arrived to Paris. The guides that did the tours were great with the kids and we had a blast.

My boss and his two girls had the most amazing experience with Laurine. They loved her so much they booked her again on the same trip. My boss is very particular about quality of the guides and tours and was so impressed. We cannot wait to book again for our next holiday. 10/10 for the tour, the organisation, and the guides. Thank you Dominique!
