An amazing and knowledge filled visit
Regis picked us up and dropped us off from our hotel in Paris making our visit simple. We started out visiting the the town of Verdun and making our way up towards Fort Douaumont and the Ossuary. Regis' knowledge of the events and the context he was able to provide to everything all the way down to the roads we were driving on was exceptional. Anything that you wanted to see related to WWI he was able to provide. As a bonus he took us into the Argonne forest to share personal family history of his great grandfather's service in the war. When I return to France I will be sure to take a tour with Regis again.

Full day trip of Somme and Villers Bretonneux
Service and knowledge of Adrian was very very good. The ease of the pick and drop off was great and the vehicle was also really great. The history laid against the landscape was surreal, and this coupled with Adrian's knowledge and guidance made for a really great day. It was a long day, but a very full and enjoyable day!!

      Profound Experience
We had a great day out it was a real opportunity to understand Australian war history on the Somme and get a realistic perspective and life endured by the Aussie Diggers. Regis our guide was very knowledgeable and I would recommend this tour to all Australians interested in our war history

Great Personalized Trip with an Expert Guide
It was absolutely the best tour I've ever had. Regis was courteous, accommodating, and extremely knowledgeable of the military events leading to and through D-Day and more. We never felt rushed at any of the stops. His restaurant pick was spot on too. He definitely made a long day from Paris to Normandy and back so very pleasurable and memorable. It was such a humbling experience. Do not miss out on this wonderful opportunity to pay homage to the greatest generation.

      Outstanding tour guide!!!
We thank Regis our tour guide for the most memorable tour of the Meuse Argonne Region on September 14th. His personal tour provided such detailed information about the battle, the various monuments, and other interesting events that occurred in that area. My husband was elated to visit the town of Dombasle where his grandfather arrived when he served during the war. Walking the cemetery and visiting the church was sobering. Seeing the demolished church and German bunkers on top of the hill really put things into perspective. And then the finale was walking in the forest and seeing the trenches and craters where the shelling occurred. We spent 3 weeks in Europe touring many cities but we both concluded that your tour was one of the highlights of our trip. Thank you again!

      A Tour Like No Other
This tour was a hybrid of Verdun, the Argonne and all things AEF. Regis was fabulous and extremely flexible, we corresponded for a couple of months to ensure that I would be walking in the footsteps of my grandfather. The tour took us all over the American and Franco/American Battlefields. I learned early on that if it was recommended by Regis - it was worth seeing and exploring. An accomplished English/French speaker, he was able to open doors that, for most, would remain locked. Regis also ensured that the history of France's Ancien Regime, Napoleonic era, and the Franco-Prussian War were liberally sprinkled throughout the tour to ensure that timelines leading up to the Grand Gurre remained intact. One of the highlights was to be taken to the Haute Chevauchée (High Road) where his uncle had fought and was wounded. For the AEF student, this was a rare treat as it, and its monument, are buried deep in the Argonne Forest. After walking the battlefields, the WWI American Monuments and Cemeteries were not to be missed, they are some or the most beautiful in the ABMC inventory. On a lighter note, the tour became uproarious when we found out that Regis was a bread, pastry, and dessert fan. Every gas stop contained at least two of the three. Last, he is a generous host, tremendously well informed, and fun. When you leave his tour, you are leaving behind a friend.

Viator in France gone wrong, in a bad way
Pictures are stunning, not! Because we didn’t get the opportunity to take any! We booked this tour in Nov 2022, that’s almost an entire year ago. My husband has a relative buried in the WWI American Cemetery and much of our visit to France centered around this one tour. None of his family can afford to visit the grave site, so we are making this pilgrimage to his grave after being there for 105 years. Our guide called at 10:38pm before a 6am pick up to tell us he couldn’t come, because his car broke down. He stated he could not make alternative arrangements, had to take the car to the shop the day of our tour and we could go in a week or so. When you are leaving in two days that is not helpful. We then called the Viator help line in the Philippines, at first hesitant to refund our $848, there was no offer to make right on a less than 8 hour cancellation by the driver/guide. The very least they could have offered would be a reduction on the price of the two tours we had booked with them in Belgium, right? Then after almost an hour on the phone, and repeatedly asking to talk to a supervisor, the call center person hung up on us! Think real hard about using Viator, and if the tour in France goes through Adrian Roads - cancel now!

Perfect way to see such a historically significant region!
Being able to see these locations is one thing, but having the guidance of a tour operator such as Regis is invaluable for adding color and depth to an already profound experience! Regis greeted us 20 minutes before departure and got us situated in the very comfortable van for our drive out. He made sure to engage each and every one of us with stories of the area and genuine insight that only someone who has a great interest in the subject is able to provide. Being able to see Pointe du Hoc, the memorials, the beach, cemetery and museum all in a single packed day was a wonderful experience made even better by Regis's excellent commentary and engagement through stories and pictures. This tour is very focused on the subject and you do not sacrifice time spent at significant places for 'padding' like you might at other tours. Lunch was also very very good. If there is only one tour you do on your trip to Europe, make it this one.

Had no contact details of the tour, couldn’t find the place correctly
After I could only book for 2 people minimum, I had a timing matter that could have been resolved easily if I had contact details that actually worked. No one ever answers the phone or emails so yeah it basically ruined my trip to France. I honestly wish I never came here in the first place.

An amazing tour of the Somme Valley
Thank you for the day spent in the Somme Region. We were amazed by its beauty and its sad past. You set the scene and aroused our imagination of the battles lost and won and the price paid for the freedoms we enjoy today. Walking through the gravestones and reading the epitaphs left tears in our eyes. Viewing the trenches brought us closer to the horrors of war. The consoling factor was the vibrancy of the small towns today and the joy on the faces of those leaving the baptism ceremony in Albert, signifying new life. We thoroughly enjoyed your company and that of Carmel and Greg. Thank you for sharing your knowledge of this time in history with us. We are always hopeful that the ‘powers that be‘ learn from these terrible events. We will cherish these photographs and gladly spread the word of Adrian Roads back home in Australia. We wish you every success with your company in the future.

      Caen Memorial Museum, private visit
As part of our private Normandy Area visit, this Museum was "one of the must places to visit, too". It has a wider perspective that only war times,, starting from City of Caen's older history. Of course much has been dedicated to WW2 times, as Caen (occupied by nazi-germany) was important center for defenders of Atlantic Wall. Concerning second world war times, there is lot of photos, couple films (small theatre) and many equipment, goods remaining to show how they really outlooked at those times. Exhibition continue also by covering stories that tell times in west France during Cold War times (1950's). So covering many hundred's of past history, it's a remarkable and indeed in-depth stories, full. Interesting in to see how many (local) girls and boys from schools were doing some of their exercises by following & answering right points into their books,,, and learning. Recommended place to visit, minimum visit time inside, I would say is 2 hours.

      Don’t hesitate! Book this tour!
This tour was the highlight of our week in Paris! The guide, Regis, was phenomenal and his love of history and knowledge of events and places was evident. I firmly believe that visiting these sites on your own would not give you nearly as much information or have as much of an impact on these hallowed grounds. Regis weaves stories of real life WWII soldiers, historical pictures and where those relate to current day. He keeps you engaged and all in perfect English. We never felt rushed at the sites, and even enjoyed lunch together at a local restaurant. Yes, it’s a long day but well worth it! Pickup/drop off was a breeze, the minivan was comfortable holding the max 7 people and an added bonus was seeing some of the beautiful countryside of France. Don’t hesitate - book this tour!

      Bucket list trip
Hands down best tour we have ever taken. Besides the obvious humbling experience of being in such a historic place where so much was sacrificed for freedom and what is right, the trip was augmented by the best and most knowledgeable guide we have ever had, Regis. I encourage you to take this trip and ensure that you have Regis as your guide. You will not be disappointed.

      Don’t miss this tour!
Wonderful tour! Regis is very knowledgeable. The only time we felt a bit rushed was at Pont do hoc but that is only because my husband is an Army Ranger and that is sacred ground for them. The Omaha Beach museum was wonderful and a place we would have missed had we not been on this tour with Regis. Next time we are here we will book another tour with him.

A little “dot” of a town in the Champagne region.Beautiful rolling hills and greenery, along with vineyards surround this town. We stopped by o. The way home from our vineyard tour in the village of Chigney Les Roses.
We found a bakery on the Main Street (name forgotten) that sold us some incredible pastries and a delicious baguette. We then stopped by a WWI cemetery with an interesting history, drove around the town for 20-25 minutes, got lost and found a medieval fortress with part of the town included within its walls.
Just a unique experience. Don’t worry about planning things here, just drive and wander to find little hidden gems of your own.

These woods are silent now. But if you look the scars of war are there 100+ years later. Regis was a most excellent and knowledgeable guide. The American cemetery and monuments were impressive. I hope to tour with this company again.

I scheduled this trip for my 85 yr old father and 60° husband. Pick up in the pouring rain at the meeting point. God bless Regis for being early and getting the men on their way in the dry comfort of the van. Both my Dad and father were moved and impressed by the memorials they were able to visit. Both had ancestors that were based and fought on these battlegrounds. Regis accommodated my fathers more limited endurance walking while still ensuring they could get to the places they both wanted to see. Highly recommended. So grateful for the support of this opportunity to honor the dead.

This was a truly outstanding tour that significantly exceeded our high expectations. Regis Piteux, our tour guide, was very knowledgeable, courteous, and patient. He picked us up on time in a very nice van, fully explained what we were about to see, and then took many pictures of our group as we viewed the sites he had lined up for us. Regis took us to an outstanding restaurant in Chateau Thierry for lunch, where we enjoyed the best meal of our time in France and Germany. Our group consisted of two American adults, two German adults, and one German 11 year old, all members of one family. Each of us was impressed with the high quality of the tour, including the 11 year old who commented on how "really cool" the day was. In fact, he thought it ranked right up there with his visit to the Eiffel Tower and Disneyland Paris! In addition, Regis handled the different sensitivities of Americans and Germans with respect to the battles of WWI with great sensitivity so that no one was in any way offended. To net it out, we would recommend this tour, and any other tour led by Regis Piteux and Adrian Roads to anyone from adults to families with children. It is our intention to request Regis as our guide when we return to tour the WWII battlefields of Normandy. Burrell & Sharon Landes, Littleton Colorado, USA.

Regis, our guide, was very knowledgeable. He did everything possible to make our trip enjoyable including accommodating my son’s wheelchair. This is not something he would normally have done
