About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- X4892GUroberte0 contributionsPoor Service and Expensive, Mediocre MealIt was a very rainy day and a dark and rainy night in Paris. In spite of the rain and the high river flow, we departed on time. That is the good news! The dining areas on the boat had no warmth or pleasant ambience. A bit like an expensive cafeteria. Service was perfunctory, at best. There didn't seem to be any leadership in the "front" of the restaurant. We certainly felt more like customers than guests. Food was not worth the price, even when considering the extra costs associated with a river cruise. During our 16 days in France, we ate lunch and dinner at many nice restaurants in Paris, Lyon, Chateauneuf du Pape, and Avignon, some Michelin starred and some not. Several quite expensive. This was the only restaurant where we felt like we wasted our money, paying a lot for average food and substandard service. The toilets ran out of towels in the sink area well before the dessert course. They were never resupplied even after staff was informed. Throughout the trip, there truly was little or no effort made to make the cruise a pleasant dining experience. In spite of the rain, Paris is always lovely and beautiful and the views were still nice out the windows. Because it was raining so hard, we asked the restaurant to call us a taxi or other car so we didn't have to walk back to our hotel through the street flooding. We made this request bout 20 minutes in advance of our expected arrival back at the dock. At the completion of dinner, no taxis were available, perhaps because of the high demand for taxis due to rain or perhaps because they never bothered to call anyone. Given their remote dock location and the expected needs of their "guests", you would think that the restaurant would have relationships with drivers and taxi companies that would be responsive to their needs. Eventually, one of the wait staff was kind enough to walk up the stairs to the avenue above, stand in the pouring rain, and hail a taxi. Bless her! We finally got out of the restaurant about 30 minutes after the completion of our meal. Save your money and don't go on this dinner cruise. There are hundreds and hundreds of better, and less expensive, dining experiences in Paris.Written October 28, 2024

- punkyroxster0 contributionsMemorable experience on River SeineThe views, service and food were amazing! The booking was easy to make, and even though I had some trouble initially, I reached out via email and the staff replied me promptly, allowing me to book it successfully. The cruise was easy to locate and instructions to get there were given very clearly. Would definitely recommend anyone who is visiting for their first time to get on the cruise :)Written October 4, 2024
- brucerC9352QB0 contributionsA truly great dinner cruise on the SieneThis was not the dinner cruise we were supposed to be on, but our original dinner cruise was canceled by the operator, so we decided to opt for the Ducasse Sur Seine dinner cruise. At first I was hesitant to book because we are not really foodies and the menu selections were a bit intimidating, but I'm so glad we did book this dinner cruise. The boat is spotless and the tables are not right on top of the other, so you feel you have lots of room. The staff were friendly and very attentive. The food was excellent. The boat is electric so there is no vibration to know it is running.....very quiet and serene. There is nothing like Paris at night. It is so beautiful and being on this dinner cruise just enhanced the experience of looking at all the great Paris landmarks.Written September 27, 2024
- BarryAscot0 contributionsSuperb… the only river cruise in Paris I would ever want to do…Back in March I was staying for a few days with my family in the wonderful Hotel de Paris in Monte Carlo. We dined at their top floor Michelin restaurant which was excellent however unfortunately their famous 3-star Alain Ducasse restaurant was closed during our stay. Later I had the pleasure of meeting the hotel’s general manager and we were soon into discussion about great hotels and restaurants around the world. I happened to mention that we would be staying in Paris a few weeks later. He told me that he and his wife had really enjoyed their dinner cruise at Ducasse sur Seine and highly recommended it. This was high praise indeed coming from the hospitality professional in charge of the entire top hotel in Monte Carlo. I booked for my wife and I. The boat was immaculate as were the staff and the table settings. Unfortunately, my wife could not accompany me at the last minute and so I ended up dining alone. I am in no doubt that this is the very best dinner cruise available in Paris and clearly a wonderful experience for couples. I also enjoyed it immensely although a pleasure shared is a pleasure doubled. The service I received especially from my main waiter was perfection itself, intuitive and most enjoyable. All of the courses were excellent, I have quite an appetite when at exceptional restaurants... and I most certainly did not depart after a great dinner and a lovely cruise needing anything else to eat. I was extremely happy with both the menu and wine list. This is however a tourist attraction as are all river dinner cruises even though the standards provided are very high, they cannot pick and choose other guests. Although it didn't bother me, the way some of the tourists were dressed was disrespectful and certainly lacked class. Shorts and a T-shirt may be okay for Disneyland Paris but there were a good few of these dotted about. You should also expect the occasional larger group... When I was there, one table of circa 12 businesspeople on a jolly were most amusing to observe. You can expect to see the occasional group. However most people were appropriately dressed diners… so this is what to expect. There are also a substantial number of appropriately dressed diners so this is what to expect. I just don’t get those people who attend such a lovely dining experience in shorts and T-shirts. The stroll along the port to the boat was most enjoyable as was the walk back into Paris after the cruise, especially when I walked through a huge nearby public space which was clearly the place for Parisians and tourists alike to hang out in the evening and which is not far from the boat. I have never before had any interest in dinner boat river cruises anywhere, as I would not normally expect the food and service to be any good. That is why this particular riverboat dining experience is superb, it ticked every box and I was very happy to thank my waiter with a substantial gratuity. After dinner most people seemed to be in a hurry to get off the boat. I stayed behind and lingered, along with a few other couples, enjoying an excellent cognac and the peace and quiet. I am posting some of my photographs which are self-explanatory. This is the river dining experience for discerning diners. As for those who disrespect the occasion through their choice of attire... they don't know what they don't know... because they don't know! However they can provide some entertaining people-watching and it doesn't hurt the atmosphere. There is no way I would have booked a dinner cruise on the river had I not received the recommendation I did. It is a pleasure to pass this on...Written September 14, 2024
- tobykitty0 contributionsA Magical Last Night in ParisMy husband and I decided to spend our last evening in Paris on this delightful Ducasse sur Seine dinner cruise. Our decision to book a reservation was based on knowing it was part of the Alain Ducasse group and all the great reviews we read. The boat offered an elegant ambience. The service and food were exceptional. The boat glided quietly on the Seine and offered a peaceful experience with wonderful views of the city starting and ending at the Eiffel Tower. I would definitely recommend this dinner cruise.Written September 9, 2024
- KimKfromGA0 contributionsDefinitely worth going on to see Paris!Certainly a wonderful experience. If you do not drink alcohol, it is confusing for the servers. There were not a lot of choices that were non-alcoholic. However, that is really my only complaint. It was a wonderful evening. Beautiful sites and no better view of the tower at night than from the boat.Written September 3, 2024
- Leanne B0 contributionsDon’t arrive hungry! We were so excited and after reading the multiple emails about dress code we braced ourselves for a stylish evening…’no T-shirts or shorts’ was the strictly enforced code…that wasn’t enforced. Now it shouldn’t bother what someone else wears to dinner..but it takes the shine off the occasion when someone turns up in shorts, runners and a T-shirt! Ok…now we’ve established I’m a snob: what else? Look…the food was good but the portions are tiny…TINY! It was 4 courses of amuse bouche. The dining room was nice and it’s just long enough not to be rushed or boring..but for the price: take a cheap cruse and then go have an awesome meal in almost any of the other 14,000 restaurants in Paris.Written August 23, 2024
- PamelaB4120 contributionsGo for the experience not for the foodWe had been excited about this dinner, but unfortunately, it did not meet our expectations. Perhaps this was because we had dined at Les Jules Verne two nights prior. While the courses were well presented, each lacked something ( taste and/or texture). Also, in retrospect, we should have ordered a nice bottle of wine instead of the wine pairing. The quality of the wines (except the 2013 Dom Perignon) didn't justify the price. For over $1000 Euro, we had expected a once-in-a-lifetime experience. There were many positives: 1) the tables were well spaced; 2) the servers and sommelier were professional and friendly; and 3) dining on the Seine was a beautiful experience.Written July 5, 2024
- 574aimeer0 contributionsVery bad food, even worse serviceThis was by far the worst meal of our 2 week European trip. The food didn't taste fresh and the texture of every single was mushy - tasted like bad airline food. The service was even worse! I had to get up to ask for waters to be refilled after 20 minutes of not seeing any service staff, only to find the staff in the galley eating bread right from the serving bowl - standing around chatting. My husband and I did this dinner cruise several years ago and have such fond memories. The food, service, and ambience was wonderful...unfortunately the quality has gone downhill considerably. The views on the Siene were divine, would highly encourage anyone to do a dinner cruise!Written July 1, 2024
- hoytw20230 contributionsVery Disappointing Anniversary Experience at Ducasse sur SeineOur recent anniversary meal at Ducasse sur Seine regrettably fell well short of expectations. Despite the visually appealing presentation (although the lobster was presented as a variation of brown sauces which was not very appealing?) , the dishes also lacked flavour and taste. The jus were particularly bland, and the lobster bisque had an unpleasant gritty texture. Additionally, the palate cleansers and strawberry dessert were unexpectedly bitter, diminishing the overall dining experience. Although some of the waiting staff provided excellent service, their efforts were undermined by the kitchen's lackluster performance. It seemed the kitchen staff have lost their passion for what they do, resulting in a meal that did not meet the high standards typically associated with the Ducasse name. The evening was salvaged somewhat by the picturesque setting on the boat and the extensive wine menu. However, the overall experience felt more like a tourist trap than a fine dining affair. As travel industry professionals, we will not be booking our clients here in the future. In our opinion, Ducasse sur Seine does not uphold the prestigious Ducasse reputation. Such a shame - as it could so easily have been such a great experience had the food lived up to its €200pp price tag!Written May 18, 2024
- thyme580 contributionsNot worth the money...disappointingWe were very much looking forward to this dinner and cruise but were disappointed. We would not recommend, nor return. We had no problems with the staff, they were all attentive and polite. One young woman went out of her way to get a taxi to arrive at the water level when we left, which we appreciated. However, when I made the reservation I filled out one guest was gluten free, which was not acknowledged. When I asked for gluten free bread during service. they were unaware. They did come up with some very nice gf bread but it was a very long wait for it to reach our table. We had a 4 course dinner. All of the dishes were beautifully plated and presented but the majority of the food was very disappointing and flavorless to very subtly flavored, and definitely not worth the price. The tiny bites they served first were beautiful, but lacked any flavor. One was very very very subtle in taste, and the other had a faint taste of raw grass. Not a good start. The green pea variation, had a nice texture, but again, no flavor. Just a very faint taste of barely ripe raw peas. The caviar just added a tiny crunch, no flavor at all. The chilled langoustines, again, barely any flavor. Cookpot of white asparagus and morels was better, but still lacked real flavor, and at the bottom of the dish there was a watery liquid that was unpleasantly combined with the morels. The blue lobster dish was ok. The lobster was tasty, but the bisque was so slightly flavored it was disappointing. The vegetables were nicely cooked but again, barely had flavor.. Strawberries infused in a lightly spiced wine, marbled sorbet....was the best of the courses. The sorbet had a wonderful strong flavor, and the strawberries were tasty. At the end, the tiny bites were again flavorless, and the final tiny square had such a powerful taste of raw lime (?) it left a horrible taste in the mouth. So, to sum up, the only parts of the meal that were flavorful were the sorbet, the chunks of lobster, and the bread and butter. That's it. The rest was a beautiful plate of no flavor. It was unbelivable! Also, the ship never sailed because they said the Seine was too high. But other boats were sailing so I'm not sure why. Thankfully we did not spend extra on wine. Definitly would not recommend and I wish we had spent that money somewhere else.Written April 30, 2024

The dinner is first class - just located on a well equipped and quiet boat cruising on the Seine. The service is delightful and professional and the food is first class. Truly a memorable experience.Written January 13, 2024
- cathybB6626DR0 contributionsIt's okFood was good. Not 3 star Unfortunately not much illumination. And no explanation of what we were seeing. Disappointed in attire of passengers. Website ked us to believe this was a coat tie evening compared to other bateau mouches. Not at all. The food/service was not of level of other Ducasse restaurants on previous visits to ParisWritten November 13, 2023

For a birthday, we organized a lunch and it was a total success.
The welcome on arrival was courteous and efficient.
The table at the front of the boat allowed us to enjoy the view and both the service and the menu offered gave us complete satisfaction and at the end of the meal a chocolate surprise for this birthday.

My wife and I took the Ducasse river cruise which was a gastronomical disappointment. Picture scores of people having to be served all at once on a river boat so that the trip can finish in the allotted time. Add to the picture a very young and stressed waitstaff and finish the picture with precooked food that is overpriced, miniscule and uninteresting but what would you expect on a 2 hour river cruise. Our main course was Pollock a white fish that was red in the center and undercooked. The boat and scenery are excluded from my negative reaction to this attraction.

The food was hard to choose because everything sounded great. Everything we ate was tasty and the kids enjoyed it too. The wine paring was spot on. The staff was attentive, friendly and spoke excellent English. The views were spectacular of course. I highly recommend going on the top deck and taking photos.

Excellent cuisine from appetizers to desserts. Less obvious service with waitress difficult to understand and not bringing the right dishes, to err is human. No offer of a second glass of wine for the second part of the meal. Additional slice of bread obtained with difficulty, which reflects a lack of monitoring of the tables. Finally, a very very shortened cruise route unlike the Bateaux Parisiens which continued to circulate.

Everything is beautiful, the table, the boat, the dishes, but the food has not a good taste to say the least. Take pictures of the dish but do not eat it. That bad. All but one in the six we had together. Wine was wonderful

Outstanding food, beautifully presented, attentive service, and gorgeous views. The wine pairings were also great. The amuse bouche with crab and apple was light and flavorful, the white asparagus was perfectly cooked and paired well with the white wine from the Loire valley, and the lamb confit was rich and delicious, if slightly salty. The only negative was the five children left unattended by their parents who ran around the boat disrupting the ambience of the food and beauty we were experiencing.

We have done the Bateaux Parisien cruises so we thought we would try this one. The others were great and so was this one. Smaller boat, but the food was a bit better. Everything on the menu was gluten-free except one dessert. Good GF bread. We had the three courses and wine pairings. Several amuse bouche. Only warning was that our table was in the sun and I wore and turtleneck and it was really warm. Very well done.

From the amuse Bouche to the fantastic desserts, this is an experience not to be missed. It is not a touristy boat down the Seine but a fine dining experience while cruising through the most beautiful city. Every dish exceed our expectations.
