About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- WinWin9890 contributionsChilly but enjoyable organised trip to Versailles..Our guided tour of Versailles was a seamless experience. Our first guide Edmond was punctual and helpful, providing clear instructions about train logistics and return journey details. At Versailles, Marian took over as our guide, delivering an informative tour of the palace's rooms in excellent English. She was engaging and responsive to visitor questions, though the group's microphone system experienced some technical difficulties. Despite the extremely cold weather, which limited our exploration of the gardens, we thoroughly enjoyed our palace visit. The tour's professional organisation and knowledgeable guides made the experience memorable.Written January 18, 2025

- sandysbucketlist0 contributionsA ruined day on our dream trip to ParisThe worst experience we have ever had. The weather was in the low 30's and we were stuck outside for over an hour past the start time waiting for the groups to be let in. The tour guide continually said just a couple more groups ahead of us and they just came piling past us. We were freezing to a point we couldn't feel our feet or hands and finally told the guide we were going to have to cancel and go back to Paris after spending over a $100 for roundtrip transportation. The guide said there wouldn't be a problem cancelling but were then denied any refund. We had so looked forward to the tour but the service was not provided as promised and it was a miserable day. DO NOT BOOK with this company.Written December 29, 2024

- John O0 contributionsGreat tour and guideJohnny is a great guide. There is so much information and he explains it well. It was like being in a history/art history course. I’m very glad we were able to have him as our guide. The meet up location and guide who met us for the train ride to. Versailles was excellent. He was very accommodating and friendly; always smiling and friendly. It was a great start to a really good day!Written December 27, 2024
- MelissaGrzanka0 contributionsA stressful dayI really wanted to love this tour. Mainly because I loved Versailles. Visiting there, I absolutely recommend. Unfortunately, the tour with Memories France was not what I hoped it would be. Admittedly, I will say that some of the issues my husband and I had with the tour were not things that the tour company could control, but when taken into full consideration with the entire day, it just really made for a really stressful experience. It didn't help that there were issues with transportation at the start of the day. Something happened with the original train we were supposed to take and the second one our guide chose ended up being delayed, causing us to get to Versailles an hour or so later than we were supposed to, which led to us having to wait even longer to get in because we'd missed our entry time slot and had to wait for them to fit us in at another time. I will say, the tour company offered us a discount if we booked another tour to make up for the inconvenience, but at that point our entire trip was already planned out and there was no opportunity to fit in another tour to take advantage of the discount being offered. The guide was okay, but struggled with English more than I expected on a tour that was advertised as being in English, so it was difficult to understand what she was saying somethings. I'll give her credit, though, because she did have a lot of knowledge about Versailles and would have likely been an excellent guide if she'd been a little easier to understand. Additionally, being late caused us to be rushed through the tour inside the palace and a little rushed through the gardens. By the time we were able to stop for lunch, it was so late in the day without having anything to eat or drink, I was starting to get sick but at the time we paused, all the available restaurants were either filled to max and not letting people in or they were closed. Our only option was to get a few snacks at one of the vendor trucks which really wasn't much of a meal. At that point, I was so exhausted and so frustrated and so stressed by how crazy the day had been, I just kind of found a place to sit and cry for a bit until it was time to meet back up with the group to continue the tour. I can honestly say, that's the first time I've ever been on a tour while on vacation that had me literally stressed to tears. So while I can say the Palace of Versailles is definitely worth a visit and I'm glad I went - I can't say I'm glad that I booked this tour.Written December 26, 2024
- D1121PWduncanm0 contributionsA must see tour with lots of amazing art works! This tour is a MUST! Such a great way to see Paris! We covered so many artists over a large area and I learned so much about the works of art as well as the artists. Don’t worry about the walk…it’s mostly flat and moves at a leisurely pace. Plenty of good photo ops and I can’t stress how much great knowledge was shared about the artists and techniques!! I was lucky enough to have a one on one tour and enjoyed every minute of it! I would definitely recommend this tour and I’d go again!Written December 23, 2024

- SPS4440 contributionsFine tour, and great to skip the line at Sainte-Chapelle!We liked how the tour combined three beautiful places that were close to each other. Our tour guide was very friendly and nice. But he did not have much information beyond what we could read about on our own. However — Skipping the line to Sainte-Chapelle was fantastic, because the line was over an hour long. And the stained glass windows are truly stunning.Written December 22, 2024
- SPS4440 contributionsA great way to see this incredible museum!Mika was a wonderful tour guide. She was very knowledgeable, and spoke clearly. She was calm and navigated a very crowded museum quite smoothly. My children also loved Mika’s presentation. It was great to skip the line to enter. The meeting spot was clear. We stayed at the museum for a couple of hours after the tour as well. Highly recommend!Written December 22, 2024

We were hoping to get a private guide/tour as my parents are older and didn't want to have issues keeping up with a larger group but unfortunately couldn't find any for our planned day. We chose this one as it had a max of 20, and had good reviews (we ended up having about 13 people total). The setup where to meet worked well as they wear an orange vest and badge. If you call in with questions (we wanted to confirm the departure point), they were very helpful and even gave the name of the guide to look for. Humberto was our guide and he was fantastic. The headsets provided were small (not over the top like some, just one earpiece in your ear) and worked very well. It was great to be able to listen to him while he was walking ahead and not miss a beat. Humberto was patient for everyone in the group and his knowledge of the works within the Louvre was great. The length of the tour was also perfect. It states 90 minutes but we actually were inside closer to 2hrs just based on the crowds/pace of the tour. Having the ability to continue on ourselves at the end was also nice as we got a wonderful overview with the tour but then could hit up some specific pieces we wanted to see. Overall, highly recommend this tour.

This tour is a must on any sightseeing tours.
The tour company’s guides were a little hard to find most guides wear colour hats/caps or hold a stick up in the air with their company’s colours not this time plus our guide was not very tall.
After being given strict instructions on what to do prior to the start time - be there 15mins prior to start time, will leave definitely at this time basically if you are not there in time you miss out. We waited half an hour for another couple to arrive, standing in the hot sun - no seating and definitely no shade. The late couple did not show up.
Once inside obviously the crowds started which is to be expected, this is The Louvre of course.
Our guide was Mons who was very good, due to the crowds some of our group got left behind in some areas but Mons was able to locate them.
The Louvre is magnificent but there was a 3/4 hour wait in line just to walk pass the Mona Lisa, that was very disappointing, this line was extremely slow. There was security personnel around the painting, which I thought they could have moved the lines more quickly which would give more people an opportunity to see the Mona Lisa.
If you are after the movie effect were you sit on a seat and very quietly contemplate the painting in front of you well reality is completely different. The amount of people milling around the painting if you do sit, you can’t see any part of the painting. It is also very noisy due to the height of the ceilings but again it’s The Louvre you will handle all these inconveniences because of the magnificent paintings, statues and history of The Louvre.
It really is a Will Do on your list of places to see while in Paris.

Thank you for your review, although we do not think that you took your tour with us as we do not have a guide named Mons! Our coordinators who greet guests at the meeting point all wear orange caps and have a large orange badge around their necks on an orange lanyard. Our tours also depart on time, we have pre-booked reservations which are timed and which allow us to skip the lines.
You are right about the Mona Lisa, there is a line and it can be quite long. But we are very glad that you liked the Louvre and we hope you had a wonderful stay here in Paris!

This was a wonderful short tour that really gives you great access to the Louvre's highlights. We booked it honestly because we weren't able to get tickets via the Louvre website (sold out for the day we were in Paris) and we got so much more out of it than I expected. Our tour guide was friendly, incredibly knowledgeable, and so great with our large group. We did end up having a full 20 people but the system they use is so great - everyone has a lanyard with a media player and an earbud. Our tour guide spoke through his mic and we could hear him absolutely clearly through the earbud even with the crowds. I highly recommend this to learn more of the history of the Louvre and to get in quickly!

We are not art/museum people, but this is a game changer. The quality of our guide ( Christina) was the next level - her passion for history and art was contagious. Our small group of six were all blown away - I can not recommend it high enough - there is no other way to see what is an overwhelming museum for the average person wondering through in a reasonable time frame without a guide , each room was described and highlight pieces explained rather than piece by piece as it would of taken days to see it all. I could ramble on forever, but just do it if you have the opportunity.

My family & I were met ahead of schedule by the energetic Christina. She was engaged and enthusiastic and had great knowledge not just of the art but also of the history of the buildings and underground fortress.
We visited many exhibits including the "Main event" one's such as Mona Lisa, Liberty, Medusas raft, Napoleon's coronation and Venus de Milo. Christina explained that we were on a limited schedule so we couldn't see everything in just 2 hours as the exhibitions we too numerous but what we saw we were happy with and would definitely recommend the tour to anyone who is after a nice length tour with the pieces d'resistances that you think of when dreaming of the Louvre then this is for you!!!
Just choose the day wisely as the weekends get extremely busy!

Thank you for your detailed review which we here happy to share with Cristina! She's right, we have to choose the works carefully on the tour, as if we wanted to show you everything in the Louvre we would need to stay for a few months! We are glad that you saw the works that you wanted and we very much appreciate your recommendation. We hope you had a fantastic stay in Paris!

We booked this tour just after New Year, which turned out to be a very busy day at the Louvre. The meeting point was easy to find and we were met by Avi our guide for the morning. Avi is knowledgeable and fun, it is very clear that he loves the art he is talking about. He was also able to get our small group swiftly through the queues and into the museum. This alone made the tour worth every cent. He provided a headset so we could easy hear the insights above the noise of the crowds. Learning about the small, interesting, funny and quirky details about the highlighted pieces made our experience fantastic!

Cecile was our guide and she was wonderful. I was running late… make sure to get there early… the plazas are huge and even when you’re “there” you have a long way to walk! They called me on my mobile and held the tour until I arrived which was very nice!
The tour takes in many of the highlights at The Louvre and Cecile gave great background info on the history of the buildings and of course on selected works inside. It’s impossible to see it all in a few hours but after the tour you can go off and explore some n your own. I highly recommend this tour as an introduction to this extraordinary museum!

We bought this so my pregnant wife could avoid standing in long lines and we could fit the museum in on a tight schedule. Unfortunately some issue occurred and it was never confirmed with the tour company, even though we received an email saying Confirmed. We only found this out when we showed up for the tour and were told they didn't have any room for us on their tour. We were offered a refund and a trivial discount on a future booking, but that in no way makes up for the mistake. We counted on these tickets and when they failed to honor them we were stuck waiting in long lines to buy tickets at the museum and missed much of the museum due to the shortened timeline.

We are very sorry to read your review and to learn that you had such a bad experience at the Louvre. We'd like to ask you to please contact us on booking@memories-france.travel as we are sure that you were not booked with us and that you have left this review on our company page in error. We can assure you that we would never have refused you and your wife, even if there had been a booking mix up we would have added you to our tour, we would have been able to do that due to the group reservations that we have. We are a small, local operator here in Paris and a small, dedicated team. We follow every tour departure closely and are in touch with our team of coordinators and guides at the meeting points during the welcome and check in process. Had you been with us we would have been alerted immediately and would have rectified the situation and added you to the tour you had booked on. I have checked all our records and we are certain that you were not booked with us.
None of the procedures that you outline above are procedures that we follow. We care very much about our guests and always do all we can to find a solution. We would very much appreciate it if you could identify the operator that you were booked with and please move this comment to their page, it's important that they see your feedback and it's damaging to us that future guests may think that we would operate in this way. Please don't hesitate to contact us if you want more information or if there is anything we can do to help. Many thanks.

I loved the way our tour guide Errel emphasized the highlights of the museum, it was on point. She is very knowledgeable and answer our questions. This is a big museum and a couple of hours will not cover it, but you can stay longer after the tour. I suggest book an early skip the line group tour to see more and be prepared to be walking up the stairs. This is a must see when you visit France.

Great tour! This shorter version was great for our small kids. They wouldn’t survive 3 hour tour. Our tour guide was wonderful, meeting point was clear. Due to rain we hit so much traffic and were late to scheduled time but tour representative was waiting for us in pouring rain and took us to our group that was already inside. Thank you! Recommend to reserve extra time for your trip to meeting point
