- izekc20250 contributionsThe Queers are Here! And this one will be back! This was a unique experience to learn about queer history in these eras that are erased in any other tour and literature. Will, our tour guide, was very knowledgeable and willing to answer my many, many questions. I normally get bored on tours, but his enthusiasm and content knowledge kept me engaged and eager to know more. Will was friendly, open to discussing many topics, and flexible to tailor content to his audiences' needs and interest. Our tour was during the time the Louvre had unpredictable hours due to strikes, so I greatly appreciated Fat Cat's efforts to accommodate us as best as possible to be seen the same day as our tour was originally scheduled. I recommend clarifying which tour you choose or request the one you specifically want to do ahead of time. When I am back in France, I hope to do another queer tour with Fat Cat!Written March 21, 2025
- A3919TEallisonb0 contributionsYes Today SatanWill was a fantastic tour guide, fun, engaging, and extremely knowledgeable. He adjusted what he showed us and how he presented it on the fly to fit our group. We learned a ton about queer history and spicy details about the artistic traditions of ancient Greece. There was a problem with our originally scheduled start time (not Fat Cat's fault), and they worked to make it right. We ended up in a better situation than we had planned.Written March 21, 2025
- lindsayl1440 contributionsBrought Marble to LifeOur tour guide William was very knowledgeable and theatrical, which kept us engaged and entertained. We moved at a fast pace, and 2.5hrs went quickly but also was my perspnal max for museum standing. We were grateful to learn queer history and meet the OG twink. It was not quite what we expected, as the description discussed the impressionist painters and our tour was predominantly marble statues related to Greek mythology. Overall, we had some laughs and were glad we took the tour.Written March 21, 2025
- christopherdB3723QD0 contributionsEntertaining, Educational and Sensual!William was an incredibly knowledgeable, witty and engaging guide who led us on a private trip through the Louvre, explaining an abundance of hidden queer subtext embedded in sculpture, paintings and even furniture! This tour is a fantastic option if you want a deeper understanding on how male desire has been delicately "coded" over the ages. Every piece we viewed was given a detailed historical and mythological context, often accompanied by humorous asides. Without William's explanations, there are many details I would have easily overlooked and many works I would have entirely missed. Highly recommended if you want a queer tour of the Louvre doesn't revolve around the classic tourist-bait pieces of the Mona Lisa, Winged Victory, Venus de Milo, etc This is also a wonderful option if this is your second/third visit to the Louvre- I guarantee that you'll see some works in a totally new context. I thoroughly enjoyed my visit and would recommend it to anyone with a passing interest in discovering the hidden underground of historically significant queer art.Written March 19, 2025
- Drew D0 contributionsFantastic Private Tour of the Louvre Museum!! Thank You!My husband and I felt like VIPs on our private tour of the Louvre Museum with our fun and knowledgeable guide, William! This unique tour combining art and the history of the Louvre, through the lens of sexuality and nudity from ancient Greeks, Romans, through the renaissance - truly fascinating. A+++ As this was our first time visiting the Louvre, William made sure we still saw the can’t miss exhibitions (Mona Lisa, Venus de Milo, and Winged Victory). Will certainly book other tours with FatCats next time we visit Paris.Written March 15, 2025

We could tell that he loves the finer points of French history and took joy in sharing the spirit of Parians during the tour. By the end of the tour, we felt like old friends. 100% recommend him and his company and we will definitely look him up on our next trip.Written March 9, 2025

Both of us had never visited the Louvre and Ivana made the experience enjoyable and approachable. We learned a ton and enjoyed every minute of it. I 100% recommend this tour.Written February 23, 2025
- Pavelesco0 contributionsFun and engaging tour - do it! :)This was probably one of our favorite experiences during our winter vacation. The tour is so fun, it mixes real knowledge and historical context with a honest queer/gay perspective - all possible thanks to William, our tour guide. William was engaging with both is expertise and his fun personality. 100% recommend this tour, it’s worth every penny/euro. Easy logistics, great communication. Also, we kinda felt like VIPs at Louvre 😝Written February 18, 2025
- erins8850 contributionsMerci Violette! This was a wonderful tour, we learned so much more than if we had just walked through on our own, The history of the impressionist movement was so interesting to study. Violette was an amazing guide, she knows so much and made it all so interesting. Perfect amount of time and information. We would go again anytime, good for families, couples, anyone. Violette was amazing I would go on her tours any day.Written February 1, 2025
- NicoleSunshinetravel0 contributionsMore than the Mona LisaWe met our tour group leaders at the Arc de Triomphe at 10:15 in the morning and fitted our radios to begin. I was very lucky to be in a small group with two other travellers lead by Violette, a charismatic Parisian with impeccable diction and a wealth of knowledge on the collection as well as all of the historical gossip that surrounds it. I appreciated the pace of the tour and had enough time to ask questions and take photos, but never felt like I was waiting for us to move on or felt left behind. It was a great experience and a highlight of my time in Paris. I highly recommend it.Written January 26, 2025

I took the "Closing Time Walking Tour" which was a semi-private tour of the key masterpieces at the Louvre. I had Adam as the tour guide. He was amazing. Extremely knowledgeable, very experienced, effective in getting us up close to the works, and incredibly funny. I thought I knew most of the back stories for these artists and artwork, but I learned so much more with Adam. If you don't want to deal with the crowds and lines and wasted time, I highly recommend booking something through this group, especially with Adam as your guide.

We were absolutely thrilled with our 2 hour tour of the Louvre! We are sometimes hesitant to book tours of museums, but we were blown away by our experience. We were able to enter the museum quickly without waiting in the (very long) line. We actually were fortunate to have a completely private tour for our family (an unexpected bonus!). Our headsets were comfortable and worked well. Most importantly, we had an amazing tour guide. Violette was our guide extraordinaire, and we could not have been happier. She is extremely knowledgeable, passionate about art history, and incredibly warm and engaging. Even our teens had to admit it was a fabulous tour -- ha,ha! We were able to see the most well-known masterpieces at the Louvre, while learning details and stories we surely would not have learned otherwise. We left the Louvre feeling very grateful for our informative, detailed tour; we highly recommend you book a tour with Violette!

From the moment we met with Adam we knew we scored the best guide. His knowledge of art, artists, and the history behind the art and Louve was unsurpassed. The tour was both educational and interesting. I would book him every time and highly recommend him if you are looking for a total rockstar of a guide.

If you’re visiting Paris, a private tour of the Louvre is an absolute must—and a truly unforgettable experience. From the moment we arrived and met our guide Violette she made us feel like we had known her for many years. The tour felt well planned allowing us to explore the museum’s vast treasures with ease and focus.
Violette was exceptionally knowledgeable and passionate, bringing the art and history to life with engaging stories and insights. Rather than feeling overwhelmed by the Louvre’s immense collection, we were guided through the highlights, including the Mona Lisa, the Venus de Milo, and the Winged Victory of Samothrace, while also discovering hidden gems we might have overlooked on our own.
What stood out the most was the personalized touch. Violette took time to answer questions and allow for time to take any pictures we wanted. We also enjoyed bypassing the long lines, which gave us more time to immerse ourselves in the artwork rather than waiting outside.
The experience was not just educational but also incredibly enjoyable. Whether you’re an art enthusiast or simply curious, a private tour allows you to fully appreciate the Louvre’s beauty without feeling rushed or lost in the crowd.
In short, this tour is well worth the investment. It transforms what could feel like a daunting visit into an intimate journey through one of the world’s most iconic museums. Highly recommended!

Violet was awesome! She was so engaging with our group of friends and asked questions to make sure she showed us what we wanted to see. The reserved time entry is worth the price! We highly recommend Violet and will definitely book with her on another trip to Paris!

Pouring rain. Long lines. Intimidatingly large museum. Young kids in the group. A recipe for a disastrous day for the tourists? Enter Violette and Fat Cat Tours. The private tour not only allowed us to avoid the crowd at the entrance but gave us a hugely entertaining and informative time in the museum. We only had to follow the guide, absorb the fun facts about the French history and the art objects and enjoy the humorous and engaging narration. Best time we have spent in Paris.

Adam was fantastic and very passionate about all of the artwork. He took time to explain the history, connect the dots throughout the tour, and keep the group engaged. We didn’t even notice the people throughout the Louvre because we were so intrigued by Adam’s stories at every stop. We could have spent 5 more hours touring with him. This tour is 100% worth it!

Violette was such a wonderful guide—knowledgeable, funny, and full of great stories. I have been on a lot of museum tours and Violette was hands down the very best of the best! I was amazed at how much we covered in just 3 hours. The late afternoon time period was also a revelation—while still fairly busy, we could move around and see the various art works without issue. I would take literally any tour Violette was leading— she really is that great. Merci Beaucoup!
