    Expensive Beautiful Shopping Experience
Well worth a visit - beautiful building with lots of expensive shopping opportunities. We just enjoyed wandering around amongst the wealthy and fashionable shoppers.

    Look up!
We had lunch in the cafeteria style restaurant because the sky was spitting rain so we gave the weather some time to clear before heading out of this lovely department store. When we were here in 2014 with our granddaughter, we bought lunch and went to the roof to eat. That wasn’t an option this time because they have developed the roof top into a fancy observation area. The food was pretty good. It’s organized by stations so we could clearly see what we were buying. The salad bar had plenty of choices which we appreciated. It was a good choice, especially because of the challenging weather. This is a beautiful department store, certainly worth a visit, especially for the views from the roof top. We could see so much of beautiful Paris. The opera house is right next door, but we could pick out other iconic Parisian landmarks as well. The shopping experience was fine - pretty much anything we could want could be purchased there. But the highlight is the glass ceiling. Go inside to the mezzanine and look up - just fabulous!

    Nice but NO TOILET
We were only curious, and the place doesn't disappoint. The main negative note: NO PUBLIC TOILETS. Toilets only available for customers (a code is needed)

    Great Experience
Chef Eric was patient and attentive, pragmatic, energetic, enthusiastic and knowledgeable. I had a great time in his class. He answered sll my questions about the recipe and cooking techniques generally. I learned a lot in the class.

    A great intro class
My daughter and I had a good time in the Macaron class. The instructor was excellent and very friendly and helpful. I do wish I had known it was for real beginners (instructions on how to "fold" the batter) as we might have tried a different level. But it was a good experience overall. I would ask to cut down on the amount of standing -- since this class was full of tourists, we had all been walking all day long and then to stand for another hour watching the demonstration was a lot.

    Cheated out of tax refunds
I shopped here on Saturday, and I purchased items from the Chanel makeup counter on floor 0, From future on floor 2, and the ReStore on floor 3. At each place I visited, I asked about the VAT tax refunds and each time I was told you can come back next week no problem. Never ONCE was it mentioned that I must return in three days. We came back today, Wednesday, to do the tax refund as well as shopped some more (even purchased other items from Restore!!!) I walk into the refund counter and lo and behold I cannot receive refunds for any of my purchases from Saturday. I spent over 600€ that day at the Galleries. From Future was kind enough to reprint my receipt immediately but RESTORE absolutely refused. They said I need my original items to get a reprint, and frankly, were extremely rude. If I had been told I cannot do tax refunds after three days, I would’ve done it on Saturday! I am so angry and feel cheated. You will never have my business again. How can you not mention the three day limit?????? Also it didn’t say anything about the three day limit anywhere in the whole department store. F this place.

Macaron baking class at Galeries Lafayette
This class might be good for people with absolutely no baking experience. It was mostly instructional and we watched someone do the work as opposed to getting hands-on. We did get to pipe some shells and fill some pre-made shells. But if you’re looking for something more hands-on, this isn’t the class for you. I suppose this is reflected in the price and length of time of the class. All that said, the woman running the class was lovely and did her best to teach us the macaron baking process.

Loved this great experience.book in advance. You must Plan to see the department store as it’s just a stunning store to shop and see the sights. Also has a rooftop viewing deck. Also it’s across the street from the opera house.. it’s a must to go there

Maybe the best attraction in all of Paris.
I had been to the store about 30+ years ago and thought it was a beautiful place…but not much more. This years visit didn’t change my opinion of its beauty, but it allowed me to see so much more. First, the staff…while Parisians have a reputation for being a bit difficult, nothing could be further from the truth. Every interaction was remarkably easy and positive! The staff (and actually everyone in Paris) was super friendly and helpful and spoke English. It was sale season and we got several amazing deals… Make time for a trip to the roof deck for, perhaps, the most beautiful views of Paris. Also, the restaurant on the roof was economical and excellent. Don’t miss one of the best experiences in Paris.

    Horrendous experience
This was a total let down and waste of money. The lounge was dingy the staff member was horrendously rude and didn’t even want to acknowledge the experience that was paid for. Whatever you do, do not book this as you will regret wasting your money on an experience that makes you feel worse than if you did nothing at all.

    Bad experience ever
Never visit this place with a young child. They are so kid unfriendly. My daughter wanted sit on the floor and play with her toys during introductions by the tour guy but the staff rudely asked her not sit on the floor without any reason.

    Macaron-making class
We signed up for a macaron-making class (in English) as a family, and it was really fun and tasty! The instructor showed us how to make the batter and gave great tips for how to be successful with the recipe if we tried it again at home. Because the cookies need time to set and bake, the instructor pre-made enough for us, and we got to fill them and take them home. I would recommend the class! However, the location of the class within the Galeries Lafayette was hard to find - surprisingly, three of the four concierges (customer service help desks) we asked could not tell us where to go, so we were almost late.

    Dayuuuuuum!!
I thought the Dubai Mall is the pinnacle of a shopping complex, but I was totally wrong. The blend of the modern and the parisien architecture is mind blowing. Every possible luxury brand has multiple outlets. Best part is you can shop all you want and instantly get a tax refund in cash or credit card.

The Macaron Pastry class was supposed to be delivered in both English and French as written in the booking confirmation “You can book the course in English and French.” However, the instructor clearly lacks the basic English proficiency to communicate clearly in English and to make matters worse, she spoke in a very quiet voice so that many of us stood who farther away could hardly hear and/or understand what she was saying. (There were more than ten people in the class on that day.) She clearly favored and spent far more time speaking French than English, left us wondering what extra information she was saying in French that she did not communicate in English.

We have booked a macaron workshop here which got cancelled June 26 because of Covid. Very understandable but I am still waiting for my refund after 2,5 months! I’ve never experienced anything like this. It’s hard to get in touch and all you receive are emails sent from no-reply addresses so you can’t even reply. Be warned!

This was a fun and well-run class with a very nice, knowledgeable teacher. Her English is great! We got to do some hands-on baking, but the size of the group (and the amount of time it takes to make macarons) means we couldn't do all of the steps ourselves. The true test will be when I try to make them myself back home! All in all, a very positive and fun experience that I would recommend.

So the class was cancelled due to Chanel wanting the room , no one informed us and we didnt get a refund $100 . Also when we got there 20 minutes early no one at the store knew were it was , they then said go to the gourmet store next door , asked and asked , eventually a lady on 3 rd store said go back its in the other store on 3rd floor and yes she agreed very hard to find.
We eventually found it and two other women were in the same predicament as we were . We were not called or emailed about cancellation and basically wasted 2 hours of our day in Paris

This was such a fun class. Jennifer our teacher was knowledgeable, friendly, helpful & made the class such fun. It was relaxed & informal, but learnt loads. If you like baking, like learning new skills or fancy some fun, this is for you. You get to try techniques, eat what you make & get all the recipes on beautiful cards.

The class is in a large department store. The class is in The Apartment, in the corner of the 3rd floor by the concierge.

You won't make macarons from start to finish, but you get tips and instructions, can practice piping, and then mix two different ganaches and fill your own (pre-made) macaron shells two chocolate and two pistachio. Then you get to eat the practice shells. Small group, well presented, an enjoyable diversion within the beautiful Galerie Lafayette store.

Took this class with my mother, who really likes to cook. We had a great time and the recipes were easy to follow and understand. It was interesting because she could identify her mistakes when making macarons at home and solve her doubts with the instructor. As an English and French speaker, I can say that course was equally taught in both languages. Recommend it.

Enjoyed learning piping technique. I would have liked to learn how to make fruit fillings. My biggest problem was finding the class in the store. It took me forty minutes to get to the location, once I was in the store. I kept asking for directions and was given many wrong instructions including being sent to another building. I was in tears by the time I found the class.

Arrived 30 minutes early. We went to the 3rd floor of Galleries Lafayette but no one there to meet us. We asked the concierge about the class, they were clueless. We went to a macaron shop on the second floor, asked them, clueless again. We called the company and the lady, who did not speak English well, said 3rd floor of main building, but it sounded like "man building" So we went to Gallaries Lafayette's L'homme building. Nothing. Then to the Gallaries Lafayette's gourmet food building. Nothing. Checked multiple signs in multiple buildings--nothing. We finally gave up after an hour of looking. Very disappointed with how this company does its directions. At the very least, ensure the concierge in the store knows there is a baking class!

We're so sorry to hear that you had some difficulty finding the Macarons class. Indeed, the workshop takes place in our Lafayette Apartment on the 3rd floor of the main store, located directly next to the concierge that you would have asked for directions. We have forwarded your feedback to the appropriate concierge and will be ensuring they know where the class is. We will also be looking into how to make directions to our workshops more clear for our anglophone clients. If you have not already requested a refund, please don't hesitate to do so via the email address indicated on your ticket. We hope to have the opportunity to give you a better in store experience in the near future.
