Versailles is massive and can’t be seen or experienced with a quick visit.

Seeing the Château on this 8-hour tour was a great way to experience Versailles and get a sense of what it was like to have been there during the period of its residents, the French royal family.

The tour started with meeting our guide in Paris and the group was small. Our guide, Alice has a PhD in art history and was a wealth of knowledge for French history as it pertains to this royal palace.

Plan a full day and get plenty of rest the night before. Your day will start with a bike ride through the town of Versailles where you will get to create your lunch from the local farmers’ market (be sure to get an espresso from Giuseppe’s red shiny coffee stand; it’s exceptional coffee).

Following, you will get to your sections of the gardens with in an in-depth background on the history of the family that built and designed the Château through to the royals who lived there until the French Revolution.

You will picnic on the banks of the grand canal with a view of this massive property and that gives you a sense of what it could have been like to spend all day at Versailles during its HeyDay.

Our guide Alice did an exceptional job of painting a rich background of the personalities of the various members of the Royal family and how their lives impacted the design and build of the property.

After lunch you will tour the residence and learn what each room was used for, getting the inside-scoop of how people lived and interacted in this massive and special place.

Alice had a great pace about her tour and we never felt like it was lagging. She is very engaged and her love of history is infectious.

The grounds are just too big to walk so you get a scope of the landscape. Being on bike, you can move through the ground at a palatable pace and get more packed into your day. We highly recommend this tour of Versailles. You won’t be disappointed.

One of the best tours we’ve ever taken and an incredible way to experience an extension of Paris. Super responsive and clear communication. Clara was our tour guide. She was professional, engaging, and her expertise was tailored to adults and children alike. Exceptional experience.

Our Tour of Versailles with Stu & Niki was quite possibly the best vacation day of our entire lives. Please ignore that one person who ridiculously gave the only four-star review out of almost 800 people - we all know people like that. If you are even considering a visit to Versailles, for the first time or not, you simply must book a tour with BBT. You will experience the property like never before, develop friendships with your small group, shop at the local market for your own picnic lunch by the canal, and make lifelong memories that bring a smile to your face every time you think back to that magical day. We feel lucky to have experienced what clearly is a passion for every BBT guide, who all are utterly positive, talented, funny and kind. I am proud to recommend them 100% and booking another tour next time we visit is at the very top of our list.

My daughter and I did the Half Day Bike & Brunch tour of Varsailles (which you can find on their direct website). Everything was amazing and it was definitely a highlight of our trip! The directions they sent to prepare us for meeting in Gare Montparnasse were top notch (we had taken another tour earlier in the week through a different company and found the directions lacking). Claudio, our guide, was just wonderful - as was everyone else who helped along the way (the bike shop, etc). There were 6 of us total in the group which added to the intimate feeling. We'd highly recommend this trip!

This was an incredible experience. The highlight of our week in Paris and one of the best things we have ever done while abroad, period. Maybe hiring a boat in the Phi Phi islands comes first with this a close second. First off, Versailles is amazing and seeing it this way was incredible. I would have never gone to Marie Antoinette’s hamlet or known where it was if it weren’t for this tour. The gardens and fountains are just stunning and being told stories about it while exploring made it so much more special. Second, the tour itself is insanely well organised and fun. The cycle ride is very easy breezy and we wore jeans and sneakers. No need for fitness gear. Our guide Clara was smart, kind, knowledgeable and so much fun to spend the day with. Her storytelling was superb. I consider myself a history buff and even learned some new things from her. She kept the day moving and we were never waiting around somewhere for longer than 5 minutes and yet the pace of this trip was so relaxed and perfect. I can’t recommend this magical experience enough.

Easily one of my favorite experiences during a recent trip to Paris. Communication prior to the tour is top-notch, and the hosts are helpful in sharing Paris recommendations as well as finding gluten-free options for a member of the group during the tour. They take care of every detail, so all you have to do is show up and enjoy. Biking through Versailles, exploring the market, visiting the palace, and enjoying a picnic overlooking the Grand Canal was more incredible than I could have expected. Nicolas, our tour guide, is clearly well educated in the history and art of Versailles and France. His storytelling skills are above and beyond. We were enchanted, more than once, as he wove his stories. He is also a fantastic photographer and always offers to take photos, highlighting the most picturesque views. He is personable and an excellent friend for the full-day experience. When I visit Paris again, I will take this tour again. It is that fantastic! Book and enjoy. You won't regret it.

Claudio is a fantastic guide. Great sense of humor, engaging and very well informed. We rode to the palace of Versailles, and Claudio began weaving the tale of the palace's history. The local market was very good, and the picnic was beautiful. Well worth it!

My daughter and I did the Versailles Food and palace bike tour during Easter break and had the most wonderful experience. It was absolutely the highlight of our trip. Our guide, Dina (I hope I am spelling her name correctly), was so enthusiatic and make it interesting and fun. The crowds were enormous since it was Easter and our guide got us in right when they opened and we skipped the long lines. The gardens and fountains were spectacular. We went to a wonderful market and purchased the most incredible cheese, bread, strawberries etc and had an amazing picnic by the water where we shared wine and champagne. I was nervous about bike riding since it had been many years since I had ridden a bike and it turned out to be an easy pace and they fitted us to the bike and had us test ride to make sure we were all comfortable before heading out. We finished at the hamlet which was so picturesque and relaxing. I can not recommend this tour enough. Thank you for making our trip to Versailles even more special.

We did a private tour with a van pickup at 12:30pm and ended back at our hotel in Paris at 7:30pm. . This was perfect for our group as we wanted to sleep in and this also allowed us to get into the palace at 5pm when there was lees people. We started off on super cute bikes and rode to the canal for pictures and a picnic. This included cheeses, wines, fruit, quinoa, croissants, and vegetables. After we biked to the fountains which were super impressive and then headed into the palace for a tour. Our guild Stu was very knowledgeable and personable. We highly recommend this company.

Unfortunately, we had to cancel our tour because of the COVID impact, and we were unable to travel. The company has been great and very responsive as we worked through the refund options. I appreciate the communication and quick response. We can't wait to book again when we are able to return to France. We are SO looking forward to the tour! Thank you!
