About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- clemens4950 contributionsEnjoyable trip - never regretOur guide Andrew was amaing, very knowledge and pleasant. Went out of his way to ensure everyone was aware of all aspects of the Juno history plus more. He Even enjoyed all the non-Juno questions/trivia questions by one of our group members - tOn the return trip, as it was getting late, and being a group of all ladies, he didn't feel comfortable bringing us back to the pick up point, so he brought us to a much safer location and closer to our hotels - that was very appreciated by all - as most host wouldn't - highly recommend this event. Our only wish we had more time to explore all that was in the area - but that will be for another time. Good job Blue Fox.Written February 9, 2025
- Vyyy0 contributionsChablis and IrancyThe first tasting was at Jean-Marc Brocard, and the winery was cute, and the staff was knowledgeable and welcoming. We had the opportunity to sample a great selection of whites. However, visiting in the winter felt a bit underwhelming. The vineyards were bare, and there was hardly anyone around, which made the atmosphere feel a little lifeless. The highlight of the tour was definitely the second tasting room, which was set inside a cave dating back to the 12th century. It was an incredible experience to sip wine in such a historic and atmospheric setting. The dim lighting, cool stone walls, and rich history made it feel like we had stepped back in time. It was truly a unique and memorable part of the tour. Our tour guide, Olivier, was wonderful—friendly, knowledgeable, and passionate about the wines and the region. He shared fascinating insights about the winemaking process and the history of the estate. Later in the tour, he even recommended a fantastic restaurant Le Soufflot in the village of Irancy, which was a great way to continue our experience with local food and wine. If you’re looking for a lively and immersive experience, I’d suggest planning your visit for a time when the vineyards are in full bloom and there’s more activity.Written February 7, 2025
- Journey1893890 contributionsTime well spent. The visit to Normandy and the D-Day invasion sites was sobering and inspirational. Even extreme wind, rain, and cold temperatures could not dull the emotional impact of the geography and of what happened there so many decades ago. Our ride was comfortable. Our guide was knowledgable and gregarious. We felt that our needs, both practical and those reflected in our desire to learn, were met. We would recommend this experience, and this company, without reservation.Written February 5, 2025

- Shannon C0 contributionsNormandy trip so worthwhile! What a great excursion! Revisiting the beaches of d day, museum and cemetery and seeing the towns of Normandy were wonderful. Our guide, Philip, was of good cheer and a great combo of guide and offering time alone to take in the gravity of the sites. Cider tasting was a fun addition to the day. Highly recommend.Written January 28, 2025
- 403adig0 contributionsTake this day trip immediately! This tour was by far the highlight of my trip to Paris! A beautiful day visiting enchanting castles, learning about history, and tasting wines from the region - with the best guide imaginable. Sara was absolute perfection as our guide: her brilliance about the history of the region, each castle, and France in general shone brightly the entire day. I also made a new good friend in another group member. I could not be more emphatic in recommending this day trip. Please select this particular tour as opposed to one of the larger group trips from other companies, which visit fewer castles. The personalized attention and small group experience of this particular tour made it even more special.Written January 28, 2025
- johnaallen0 contributionsInformative and MemorableOur day trip to the Somme Battlefields was informative and memorable. Our guide was extremely friendly and made the tour experiance very pleasant. Lots of interesting sights and historical places visited during the visit and our guide was able to provide context and details at each of the sites visited. Highlight of our visit to France.Written January 28, 2025

- X2201YPmw0 contributionsHats off to our tour guide, Julien, for making Normandy an unforgettable experienceThis tour provided an exceptional educational and personal experience at Normandy. Our December 23 tour started early and the small size of the group was perfect. Prior to each stop, Julien provided a detailed overview of what we would witness. This overview also included historical audio recordings he had assembled that really helped us understand the importance of what we would witness. At each location, he also shared with the group historical maps and photos highlighting the significant meaning for what we were witnessing. What a great day and we highly recommend this tour.Written January 25, 2025
- N4536DSdianeb0 contributionsWorth every euro!I’d visited Normandy before but my brother really wanted to focus on D Day so I booked this small van tour. This was the most expensive tour of our Paris vacation and worth every euro! Our driver/guide Julian was expert and fun. Even the full van with seven others was small enough to meet and exchange stories with everyone. The 3 hour ride was comfortable. Visiting the outdoor beaches and bunkers, the museum, and finally, the American cemetery right at 4 pm to watch the lowering of the flags was meaningful. Splurge and book this tour!Written January 25, 2025
- davidpC4666LH0 contributionsVery moving! Three castles in one day (our guide added a quick drive-by stop at the nearby medieval castle of Blandy des tours, three is better than two for good luck, she said) and they were all great. Friendly, funny and knowledgeable guide who is a native to the region. Both the larger castles were stunning; Fontainebleau contains many gorgeous paintings, statues and objects from the Napoleon era. Vaux-le-Vicomte had a particularly good audio guide: I don’t usually like recorded audio guides very much but this one was like an entertaining play performed by voice actors, really well done. Five visitors in our group, a nice size group for plenty of good conversation on the ride and attention to personal needs throughout the day. We got tasty lunch sandwiches to go from a boulangerie just across the street from Fontainebleau, and picnicked on the grounds of the palace. (One person in our group was gluten-free; she didn’t have a lot of options but was able to find a small salad.) The weather in early September was ideal. Including travel time to and from my hotel, I started the day about 7:30 and ended about 18:00 (6:00 pm). A full and fun day but not exhausting; one person in our group used a cane and she seemed to tolerate the activity level with no problems.

Our timing was perfect. At Fontainebleau we got to see the re-enactment of Napoleon’s Farewell speech to his troops. Our guide, Brunhilde, went out of her way to make sure we got to see everything. She was outstanding.
Vaux-Le-Comte was also excellent, although the audio tour was somewhat out of synch, it certainly made you feel for the Comte and his family facing the jealousy of the king.

This was a great day trip to add to pieces to your understanding or the history of the royal chateaux and especially the prominence of Francis I. The history and the estates are fascinating and our guide, Olivier, did a great job explaining and tying them together. Olivier was both perfectly French and capably fluent in English to add local perspective.

Blue Fox? cancelled my reservation stating the credit card was not valid. I don't know how they had an invalid cc as the reservation was made with a current cc. Perhaps they used a past card that had expired? I don't know. In any case, when I went to rebook with a current unexpired card several hours after receiving the notice, the tour was full and I wasn't able to sign up. Extremely disappointing. So nothing to review here except the business practice of using an expired card and not allowing sufficient time to rebook.

I really wish that I could give this tour a higher rating, because honestly the locations we visited were absolutely stunning and so full of history, I enjoyed every stop along the way. Although I wish we could have had more time at Vaux-Le-Vicomte, we had plenty of time at Fontainebleau and we were still able to enjoy the full tour at Vaux-Le-Vicomte, we just didn't have much time to really enjoy the gardens. The reason I lowered the rating is because of the guide we had for the tour. She was knowledgeable, which I appreciated, but her mannerisms and tone when she spoke made it feel like she would rather have been anywhere but where we were. Her lack of enthusiasm for the subject made it difficult to get excited about what she was saying, thereby making it less enjoyable to listen without also losing a bit of our own enthusiasm for the places we were visiting. Thankfully, our time inside Fontainebleau and Vaux-Le-Vicomte was not led by her, so we were still able to really enjoy the places once we were there and left to explore on our own.

This was a WONDERFUL tour. We were met on time by our driver and tour guide, Ollie. He is knowledgeable, informative, personable and friendly. The tour is paced well. We spent a part of our time at Chateaux de Fontainebleau and the last part at Vaux Le Vicomte Palace. Both locations had very interesting back stories. We saw beautiful scenery in between these locations. Ollie made several suggestions for lunch & we chose an outdoor restaurant where we received excellent service & delicious food - lasagna with a side salad and wine.

I really wanted to see both of these castles and couldn't find a reasonable means to go to both in one day via public transportation. The timing for the bus/train just didn't work for us. I booked online and received an automated confirmation. I did Whatsapp them a few days before to confirm too. We met up with the driver/guide at the cafe as instructed. We left a little late though, waiting for other travelers who came late or didn't show up altogether. It ended up being just the 6 of us, which was nice because the van wasn't all that big. I appreciated that they had a microphone system in the car too because I've been on other tours without and only the front row is able to hear the guide. Our guide really just provided us with a little basic information and then we used the audio guides at both of the castles. I absolutely loved both sites and appreciated the stop for lunch as will in the small town. We had sufficient time at both places and the drive wasn't far at all. The tour is on the pricey side but everything in Paris is expensive. If you want to see both castles, this is the best way to do it. We had a great time.

Augustine was a fantastic tour guide who took care of us from beginning to end! Going to the Fontainebleau and Vaux-Le-Vicomte is well worth it. There are less tourists in theses places and we are surprised why there are not more as they are both beautiful. Augustine even brought us to a nice lunch place in Blandy outside a medieval castle that we walked around as an extra treat in our trip.

Vaux le Vicomte is on my must-see list for any trip to Paris. It's amazing. Fontainebleau is great, too, but it is not at the same level which may be why the tour goes there first. But together, it makes for a really wonderful day.
Our guide/driver, Victor, gave us good background information, then provided audio guides so that we could move at our own pace within a defined time frame. There was sufficient time to see each home and garden, but not to linger.
I recommend the tour because both chateaus are out in the country. It would be difficult to reach on your own.
The tour is limited to 8 people which minimizes wasted time for boarding a bus and headcounts.

We had a beautiful day. Our driver/guide Neesa was great, she made sure we were able to get a rental a golf cart for the tour of the grounds. The Chateaux were beautiful, and not at all crowded. The audio tour of Vaux-Le-Vicomte was very entertaining. As there were only 4 of us we made new friends. The Fontainebleau audio guide was actually longer than the time allowed for the visit-this was not really a problem, but if I had known before starting, I might have budgeted my time a little differently. I would highly recommend this tour.

We will be in Paris from 12/19-26. Would you still recommend visiting Vaux-Le-Vicomte castle during the winter?
