We had a fantastic tour at Cave des Louvres with sommelier Amori (hope I spelled that right!). Learned a lot about French wine and wine production in general, and tasted 3 delicious wines, served in generous portions. Convenient location close to the Louvre. We purchased a few bottles in the shop at the end - just a shame there’s no discount if you’ve done a tour. Highly recommended way to spend an hour.

We ended up having private tour as no one else booked same time/day. Tour guide spoke very good English and was funny, kind, and helpful. All of the wines were delicious and there is even a little bar inside that you can go to after your tour, or at any time during your stay in Paris! Highly recommend as it is great for the price you pay.

Im not really a wine person, but when you're in Paris this is a must! Our guide was hilarious and made all of us feel comfortable and welcome. The caves are absolutely beautiful and the experience was unique and fun. We got to try 3 different wines and partake in some activities to help us with our wine knowledge. No regrets!

An interesting, self-guided tour of the winery, ending with wine tastings in a stone cellar with Sommelier pouring. It was here that I was introduced to Sancerre wine, a region in France where grapes to make Sauvignon Blanc are produced. The tour took our family of 4 approximately 2.5 hours. Make sure to book an appointment.

Booked a visit to les Caves du Louvre and was totally blown away with the site. Interactive displays gave understanding of the wine making process. But the best part was the tasting at the completion, along with the bottles we took away. The barman at the end was great, very interested in where we were from and the wines produced.

A group of four of us went on the tasting tour a couple of weeks ago and had the place to ourselves. The host was extremely helpful and informative, and there were plenty of free samples to enjoy.

I order some wine from their shop as well and it arrived a couple of weeks later well packed and intact.

If you're looking for an hour or so to kill in Paris then this is definitely worth a visit.

We went through with this particular tour as it was a part of the Paris Pass. The website and several reviews claim free wine to take home at the end. We finished a mediocre tour where our guide couldnt answer fundamental questions. We were dismissed.

I gently inquired two seperate employees about what wine I should take as a part of the tour. The first had firmly told me that it is only given to patrons who do the self guided tour. At my correction of her mis assignment to the group tpur she became increasingly firm and rude stating that they were no longer giving out the wine and that it is Paris Pass' fault for not changing their website anymore.

I asked our tour guide as well who was oddly quiet and firm about the subject.

Overall I wouldnt recommend at this point since they are not fullfilling their advertisement. Additionally the amount of knowledge actually provided by the tour guide is pretty fundamental, and could be at this point be achieved by some gentle sesrching online. Finally it was annoying that there was an open request for good ratings on trip advisor in the setting of the two issues above.

Others left disappointed and confused as well regarding the lack of take home wine.

This was by far one of our favorite experiences in Paris. This is a hidden gem. It is much different than a wine tasting in the United States. This experience really engages the participants in how wine in produced, what tastes come from grapes, the different types of plants and soils with their influence on taste, and many other interesting facts. The history of the building is also fascinating. My husband and I had a custom label put on a bottle of wine, as well. We will definitely be going back here and plan to add a blog post about it in the near future.

Dear Mike D, Thank you for your feedback. As you said les Caves du Louvre were the royal cellar for the palace of le Louvre, beginning of the 18' century. Nowadays, it is more than 600 square meters of wine museum where you can discover many precisions about French wines (and of course taste some of them!!). Les Caves du Louvre are not accessible to people in wheelchairs because the Caves are a 9 meters depth cellar. Les Caves du Louvre team wish you the best for the future!

I was looking at the Paris pass and saw this place. Why not?!

It’s tucked away and only a quick walk from the Louvre. Some decent bakeries and a little park in the area too.

Anyway, it’s a small little shop on the surface but a super cool building underneath. We pre ordered tickets which I recommend. Just makes sure you have a spot and can customize your experience.

It was a small group maybe 10 people. All nationalities, very fun. We got started with the tour and they walk you through lots of topics. From soil to regions to labels. Very cool and honestly ask questions. It makes it more fun. No questions and it feels like a bad school field trip. And you really don’t appreciate the guides till they start with the questions.

After your tastings you get to the bar and finish your tour. It was a fun way to spend a few hours. Was it the best one in town? Maybe not but it was well done.

Dear buckeyede06, Thank you for giving us you opinion and your advice about your visit of les Caves du Louvre. Indeed, this place is divided in 2 parts : a wine shop on the ground floor and 600 square meters of historical cellar transformed into a sensory wine museum!! As you said, the best for you is to book your ticket before coming, but everyone is welcomed with pleasure. We are now waiting to see you again and to accompany new visitors!!
