About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- Q1345FZterrym0 contributionsLouvre MuseumOur guide was very knowledgeable and provided the group with really good tips on what to see after the tour was completed. We loved the skip the line access. The tour was long, but there were opportunities to sit if needed. Well worth it to have a guide.Written January 12, 2025
- 513DanielleD5130 contributionsAmazing day in the LoireAmazing, amazing, amazing! This was the perfect choice of a day trip for our group of 4. We accomplished and saw SO much it just one day. Although officially visiting only two chateaus, you are able to see many others from the road on the journey. Chambord was lovely and impressive, but my absolute favorite part of the whole day was visiting Chenonceau! Just wish we'd had a little more time at that chateau. Lunch time in the town of Blois was wonderful and a chance to see even more. Sam was a fabulous guide and we are still impressed with Axel's ability to weave around a giant bus through old, narrow roads. Would recommend this to anyone visiting Paris and looking for a great day outside the city!Written January 12, 2025

- Vanessa T0 contributionsA fun trip outside of ParisA fun trip outside of Paris take either with a group or solo. The guide, Daniel was very knowledgeable and very friendly. We visited two castles and one winery. The ride was comfortable and it included a bathroom inside the bus.Written January 11, 2025
- Brian Y0 contributionsAvoid this company, so unhelpful and unprofessional1 star is for city wonders as a company. I was 1 minute late to get to the arranged meeting spot (multiple road closures from historic reopening of Notre dame), and after speaking to the guide over the phone, he assured me that we could meet up no problem. When I tried calling the guide back, my call was routed to their main office line. After 10 minutes of trying to get someone in person and having them struggle to find my reservation, the operator told me I could not join the tour. They refused to connect my call to the guide, which would have resolved everything on the spot. The operator was rude and unhelpful, and in all my travels throughout Europe I've never had a worse experience with a tour company -- usually they are so on point. Sad I missed an important part of my trip, would avoid city wonder, plenty of other great options. Last thing, after my complaint, no refund was issued even after explaining everything in full.Written January 10, 2025
- tphilli20 contributionsGreat Experience with Three Generations of FamilyThis was the second time that I have taken this tour and my third time to Normandy overall. Great experience this time with my parents and oldest son (a huge WWII history buff). Sam our guide was very knowledgeable and my son was particularly impressed with his insights. The visit with Ben at Vergers de Romilly cider farm was a real treat! Only improvement that I would suggest is a little more time at the museum and maybe less time on the gas station rest stops. Overall a great experience!Written January 10, 2025
- LaurenMH950 contributionsIncredible tour with a fantastic guide! We had an incredible experience on our tour of the Loire Valley! Our guide, James, truly made the trip unforgettable. He was not only extremely knowledgeable about the history of the region and France as a whole but also had a fantastic sense of humor that kept everyone engaged. His talks were a perfect mix of educational and entertaining, making every stop along the way more meaningful. If you're considering this tour, I highly recommend it – especially if you get James as your guide!Written January 10, 2025

- Eve41990 contributionsGood for Last Minute PlannersRead the fine print. You are paying for your ticket but the ticket will be purchased on the day of your tour, which means you will be in the queue to purchase tickets which will be considerably long on busy days. If you are planning last minute then this may still be a good option since tickets are often not available to purchase online.Written January 8, 2025
- Tour435158945540 contributionsLEFT STRANDED AT Utah Beach!I hate to complain but here it is. The trip started well until Utah Beach. It seemed that the trip was rushed. Our guides were fine but they left us STRANDED at Utah Beach. After getting help from the Awesome Museum folks there we finally got a taxi because no Huber was available. It cost us 100 Euros to track down the bus. We only missed a sandwich and pizza lunch but we were able to get our items and a ride back to Paris. My son and I did grab a bite to eat at thr next gas station stop. HECK but to be left stranded in a foreign county and 4 hours from your family and hotel! I don't recommend them and beware that time is so limited that to save time skip movies, and gift shops you just don't have enough TIME. Oh and to boot we almost missed the next stop. All I.can say is God was with us and the staff at museum and that super nice taxi driver. Our main guide Daniel seemed like he didn't keep time well.Written January 7, 2025

Ale, we aren’t sure if it was the “language barrier” or just not confident what she was talking about, but she was hard to listen to, and pay attention after more then 10 min Food, was a burnt pizza.. but loved the places we visited, and can understand why we are on a tight schedule, as it’s a 7am start until 8pm back in Paris Thanks again for the memoriesWritten January 6, 2025

Had a really great time with the crew, and Isabella was exceptionally knowledgeable about not only our destination but also how the history and culture of France impacted it. She went through a great effort to contextualize historic themes, and heroes and engage the bus.
We were able to break down the trip so that the ride overall felt less daunting. I appreciate the easy-going nature of the group and the tour, and felt as if I had plenty of alone time to explore the historic sites and do as I pleased.
The value of this trip is exceptional in both price and what you get out of it, and hopefully you get our same awesome guide. (I can definitely recommend booking!)

If you have the time to spare while you are in Paris, this day trip to Mont Saint Michel is a must do! We had plenty of time there to roam around but definitely recommend starting at the abbey as this can take some time when the crowds are bigger. Also recommend taking a packed lunch as the food and drinks are very pricey, even by Paris standards! The time traveling in the bus is quite long but the country side is beautiful and makes it well worth it.

Take this trip! Super worth it. I was an little gun shy because of the low amount of reviews as compared to other operators but everything was perfectly fine. There were 11 of us in the group. The bus was cozy with small over head storage, a seat back pocket, and a usb outlet. I hate that I cannot remember the tour guide's name, but he is a young red haired Scot. The tour guide gave us time to sleep for the 1st half of our journey there which is really appreciated. After our rest stop he gave us background information on Paris, France, and Mont Saint Michel. When we arrived at the site he took us up to the abbey and gave us our audioguides (he is not allowed to go in as a tour guide). Although we weren't guided in the abbey it was perfectly fine, the audioguide gave great info, and it was honestly nice to be able to explore at our own pace. We arrived at 1145 and were to meet back at the bus at 350, which gave me time to explore the abbey, browse 2 shops, and sit down for lunch at one of the many restaurants. My one tip is that you excerise on the stairmaster before your trip, it's a long way up!

I had an absolutely dreadful experience. While Mont Saint-Michel is lovely, the guide left me behind despite me arriving on time for the bus. When they tried to contact her, her phone went straight to voicemail, which was extremely unprofessional. In addition, I found her to not be an adequate tour guide. Rather than a professional as promised, she was a student who spoke a collective 10 mins our entire trip.
Once I was told by their customer service to make my way back to Paris, I was able to take a bus to Rennes where the trains and buses turned out to be completely sold out to the point that many had to stay the night. I tried every single hotel nearby both online and in person and even Airbnb , and all were sold out. If a nice man at one hotel hadn’t allowed me to sleep in a sleeping bag in their storage room, I would have been homeless (and in the rain) last night. As a woman traveling alone that knows only a few words in French , this was a scary experience and I would 100% not recommend this tour.

I noticed a review that unfortunately ended up resonating with us by Sightseer64...
Like them, I also want to say Mont Saint Michel (MSM) is breathtaking and was incredible to see and experience. That is pretty much the extent of good from our tour.
We arrived at the meeting spot around 30 minutes early and found the "Maximum 25 people" clearly booked close to 50 for our tour. The drive was supposed to be four hours with a rest stop halfway.
We stopped at the rest stop for nearly a half an hour when it was only supposed to be ten minutes or so. Things started to get worse from here. After around three and a half hours of silence we got within an hour or so distance from MSM and our tour guide started talking about history of the area, but following everything up with her own interpretation of what really happened. Example: This is where Jeanne d'Arc supposedly led an army to win this battle, but I think she was just tired of the patriarchal regime and wanted to take it into her own hands - and no this was not said with humor and every historical fact was followed with "supposedly or allegedly."
We finally get to MSM at 2PM local time (14:00) when she tells us how we were over an hour later than usual, but we should still be able to get everything done.
Once we get near the castle she attempted to get our overbooked, poorly organize tour group together to tell us where we would meet. She then informed us that our tickets that would let us into the abbey at any time actually had a slot at 3:30. She said because of this we only had an hour to explore the entire city.
We rushed around to try and see everything we could in the hour we had and eat and ran to the top only for our guide to be the last person to show up. It is now ~3:30 and we are told to wait at the steps as she went up to the ticket booth without us and we waited for 15 or 20 minutes for her to come back and follow her up. By the time we got inside it was 4PM (16:00) and we were told to leave the area by 4:45 to get back to the bus in time to leave at 5:25 at the latest.
We get back at 5:20 and sit there until around 5:40 because one person is missing so the tour guide leaves the bus to search for whoever it is. We ended up leaving close to 6PM (18:00) and didn't get back until shortly after 10PM (22:00)
In short our tour guide was disorganized and incapable of leading a tour and because of that the whole experience was severely rushed and hard to fully enjoy.
We had no time to look for souvenirs or check out the town outside of MSM (which the tour guide suggested we do before this whole mess) and were left feeling hurried and incomplete.

The drive from Paris is long but worth it to see Mont St Michel and the Abbey. Our tour guides were helpful and informative, and thankfully didn't talk the entire eight hours we were on the bus! The bus had a washroom but it was locked the whole time, except for when the driver used it towards the end of the trip - not a huge deal as we did have rest stops in both directions, but left some people with a bad taste, as passengers had previously asked to use it and were told it was not operational.
Definitely bring snacks and water, the rest stops have these available for purchase but can have lines, especially for hot food.
Altogether we had about 3-3.5 hours to explore the site which I found the perfect amount of time to see the Abbey, explore the shops, and grab a lunch. Beware of the seagulls if you eat outside, but this definitely leaves more time for exploring vs eating in a restaurant or cafe.
There are a lot of stairs to get to the Abbey, I'd describe it as moderate to strenuous. Entrance to the Abbey and audioguide were included in the price of the tour.
Reading other reviews, it seems like a lot is dependent on your tour guide. If you'd like to get there faster, look into the train, but I was very happy with this tour.

I booked a tour with City Wonders through GetYourGuide in May 2024. I was at the venue 15 minutes prior to the departure time at 7am.
I had a seamlessly easy check-in process as I was told to wait in front of church which I did. After which, I was redirected to get into the bus without knowing there are two different tours are running on the same time as there’s no clear sign or clear instruction to differentiate the two tours.
I was then settled in to another bus from the other tour. The tour guide was doing the final check of attendance on the bus to make sure everyone were there however I’m surprised my name is not being called up.
I was being cautious and went up to ask then I was being the told the bus tour to Mont Saint Michele has left the venue for 10 mins and he is not contactable or it will be possible for me to join back the tour.
I am then asked to leave the bus and the tour representatives said they can’t do anything much about my case as the bus driver is not contactable. No further assistance that has been given other than a sorry as both of them can’t do much about my case for which they asked me to call the office for rescheduling.
I was then spent for more than an hour trying to communicate with GetYourGuide and City Wonders to ask for rescheduling however was told is my issue for not following instruction as no other people is missing out from the tour except me. Further to that, I was asked to pay for rebooking fee of €25 which I proceed with that as it left me with no the option though I would like to think it is very unreasonable to do so as I don’t wish to spoil my holiday in Paris.
The overall incident indicates a serious lack of care, attention and professionalism to the customers who bought the tour. Further to that, the final check of attendance process is missing. Should this had been done and make clear from the start, I wouldn’t actually have to pen down my feedback here.
The only positive note from this incident is the customer service care officer, namely Enrica has been very patient and professional with her dealing with this sticky issue.

That was an amazing tour! Yes it’s a long way to get to Mount St Michel, but totally worth it!!
The coach bus was comfortable and I ended up napping most of the time! :)
We were a small group of 10, what gave us a good social distance.
We stopped for 15min for coffee/bathroom breaks in each way and got at the parking lot around 11:15am and after getting the shuttle bus we got in front of the Mount St Michel around 11:45am.
We had about 4 hours and half there and meeting back at 4:15pm and was enough to go to the abbey, walk around, take a lot of pictures and videos, grab something to eat and go shopping in the little stores . The place is magical I loved each moment. We left around 4:30pm back to Paris.
I usually hate to be seating for long time, but was a very pleasant experience, bus seats are comfortable and plus our tour guide was amazing, her name is ISABELLA!! She is French/Brazilian artist and was very knowledgeable and told us about French history. She speaks French, English, Portuguese and Spanish. Also she gave us a lot of tips what to do at the Abbey and where to eat, as well interesting restaurants and places to go in Paris. Totally recommend this tour!! :)

Really beautiful location and we are so happy we got to experience it! Our tour group met very early in the morning. You have to be on time or they will leave without you, so plan accordingly. After a brief check in we relaxed on the bus. We had a good group of adults on our tour who were very respectful of each other. After an introduction our guide turned out the lights so we could sleep. We then stopped at a good bus stop to get a bite to eat. Keep in mind there are many people all trying to get a bite, so get in line asap if you are hungry. Our hotel didn't have any breakfast that early in the morning, so we relied on the bus stop which had a Brioche Doree. It was good. They heat the food up as you order so it takes a while, but it's worth it. Then back on the bus for a few hours and the guide gave us more info. I don't remember her name but she was very knowledgeable. Once we arrived you can choose to take the bus/shuttle to Mont Saint Michel (about a 10-15 min wait for us) or you can walk (about a 45 min walk). We took the bus/shuttle and were very glad because as soon as you get there you are walking in a huge crowd immediately uphill and up steps, with nowhere to stop really. It was a madhouse until you get into the abbey, then you have space to move around and incredible views! Really incredible, and there's plenty of space to take gorgeous photos. The tide was out when we got there and the sun was shining! The abbey itself is fascinating and there was also plenty of space to move around inside, even with tons of tour buses there. I will mention that on this tour you are on your own once the shuttle gets you there, but we thought that was great because the abbey is well laid out with signs and being on your own also allows you freedom to choose what you want to do. I think we had 3 hours there and that was definitely enough time for us to wander around and take lots of pictures. Getting food there takes a while, so plan according. We picked the fastest place because we were more interested in the abbey than the food. We decided to walk back, instead of taking the shuttle. I highly recommend this! It's a once in a lifetime chance. It took about 45 min and you get to walk on a really nice boardwalk with incredible views on both sides. Overall it was a great trip that we waited years to take and we really enjoyed it. I would say it's more for adults since there's not really anything for kids to do, and all the young kids we saw looked bored. It's great for couples or small groups though.

First of all the description is very misleading. The group size was not 25, it was over 50 people. 59 helpless, rude, slow people.
The two guides were understandably overwhelmed by the group size and struggled with logistics and organization. It took over an hour just to get our group up two flights of stairs into the Abbey. If you tried to speak to the guides they would either look right through you or say something dismissive to get you to stop talking.
Let's talk about the crowds. Want to use the bathroom or get a croissant at the gas station? 25 min wait, so choose one or the other. Throughout the day, the lines for the bathrooms were so long that people were going out into fields and bushes to pee.
Mont saint Michel was so crowded, you were unable to even eat at a restaurant and enjoy yourself. Trying to make it back to bus on time, it took almost an hour to just walk down one street to the exit. Then there was a 45 minute walk back to the bus because the shuttles had an 1.5 hour wait. Everyone was late except 3 people.
In hindsight, I would have just taken the train myself as the station is right next to the parking lot. Also, mont st Michel was clearing out at 430pm, so going later in the day is definitely better.

Hello, I would like to do this tour. But we will be travelling with a 6 month old baby. Can we travel with the baby in the mini van or coach without a car seat?

Hi, can someone provide the actual itinerary for this tour. It's listed as a 14 hour tour, however the breakdown is less than 8 hours. Asking since I'm not sure if I should reserve dinner plans once back in Paris. Thanks in advance!

Our bus started around 7.00 am and arrived around 11.30 am. the actual time we spend at the site was appx 4-5 hours. You get back to Paris around 8.00 pm.

For this tour the meeting Point is near the Eiffel Tower. For a hotel pick up you can book other tours that offer this service

Nein, Mont-Saint-Michel befindet sich in der Normandie. Schauen Sie bitte auf der Karte die Distanz Paris (Eifelturm) nach Mont-Saint-Michel (Normandie) an.

Is there a hotel pick up and drop off for this tour? Thanks
Written March 21, 2023
No, there is not. You must go to the designated meeting place. When I joined the tour, the meeting place was in front of Cité de l'architecture et du patrimoine. I went to there by taxi.

How much time do we actually spend in Mont St Michel? It's a little over 4 hours each way from Paris, but the "typical itinerary" only shows a total of 3 hours in the town/island. I would hope there's more time than that to just explore. ??

With this tour specifically, we had maybe two and a half hours, an hour of which was exploring the Abbey, so in my opinion only having one to one and a half hours to explore the city and surrounding area (which is definitely worth looking around) is not enough time.
I saw someone else mention a train that takes you from Paris to Mont Saint Michel, but I think it only runs once a day and you would have to stay one night. The hotels are decent at ~150 a night. I think it would be cool and cheaper than the tour for two people.

I noticed this your does not pick up at a hotel; where in Paris is the pick up?
