Our guide, Christophe was excellent. He is an art historian and gave us a true insiders guide to the development of the realistic and Impressionism movements. Even though the museum was very busy (the first Sunday of the month is free in all the museums in Paris), he managed to get us in front of all the paintings that were important and it was as if there was no one else in the museum but us.

We loved the tour and the tour guide (Peter) was awesome. We wish he'd had given us an overview of the rest of the museum so that after our 1.5 hrs was up, we had a better idea of what was left to see. But overall his insight and sense of humor made it a very charming way to explore the masterpieces.

Our guide, Anne Claire, was amazing. As someone who is not that knowledgeable on art, she explained it in such a way that even I could understand. We knew it was a short tour, and we could spend all day, if we chose, but she hit the highlights in such a thorough manner that we never felt like we missed anything. It was just the 2 of us so we could ask all the questions we wanted and she answered them all. You could wander around the Orsay, the Louvre, any museum and look at things, but the guides give you a whole new depth to what you are seeing. I would never do a museum with anything but a guide, and a small group. It is well worth the nominal amount you are paying. She got us in, right to what we wanted to see and made it a memorable experience. Anne Claire is a real fireball!

Our guide at the Orsay, AnneClaire, made the visit to the Orsay amazing. AnneClaire was very knowledgeable, personable, and gave us new insight to the impressionist and the historical building that is now the Orsay. I would specifically ask for AnneClaire as a guide for any locations.

Wow! This was our first trip to Paris and the third museum in Paris (Versailles 1st, Louvre 2nd) and it was the most animated, entertaining tour of the three. Of course, as a private tour the personal touches were greater. Maurizio was very knowlegeable, energetic, and entertaining - he made up lots of stories about the art to try to give a feel for who the artists were as people and what they might have been thinking as they created their art. I had a great time learning about great Impressionist artists. I highly recommend this tour.

Our visit to the D’Orsay Museum was very rewarding. The guide, Mrs. Catherine, provided us with a very pleasant afternoon, showing details and curiosities about several important works of art of the Museum, paintings and sculptures. The D’Orsay Museum has a very rich collection and the architecture of the place delights visitors. A highly recommended visit. The guided tour is very important.

We were more than impressed with Fabia and the 2 hour tour she gave us. This was somewhat of an art history lesson but she did it in layman's terms. Fortunately, the museum is not the zoo that the Louvre is. She provided us headsets so we could hear what she was saying. This was an EXCELLENT tour. The lines are long, and you bypass that line. Believe it our not the slowdown is security screening. OH, by the way have lunch in the restaurant. The dining room is absolutely gorgeous but you do have to buy an entry and be screened. Prices are pretty reasonable.

Although to be fair, it was stated that we would have to pay the guide for the admission tickets once we got there, but we forgot because no other tour that we booked did it this way. Also, the tour guide charged to use headsets. Once we got into the museum (which went very quickly) she THEN bought the tickets while we waited. Every other tour we went on, price was all inclusive and we sailed through the entrance and immediately began the tour. This method caused some delays etc. We weren't the only people that commented that they felt they were being nickel and dimed (like the headset should not be an additional fee, just build it into the cost). It was frustrating to scramble to have the correct amount of euros etc. The tour guide was quite knowledgable. The tour company did a great job of providing communication emails prior to the tour supplying the guide's name and contact information (perhaps they should remind people to bring euros to pay for their ticket...since this isn't the norm in most tours).
