Overview
Get out of Paris for a trip to the countryside on this tour to Giverny, the location of Claude Monet's House and Gardens. You'll travel by bus to the Monet property, where you have two hours of free time to wander around the house and grounds independently. An audio guide is included, which you'll receive before departure. Select a morning or afternoon departure time when booking.
What to Expect
Your tour starts at a central location in Paris, where you'll receive your audio guide for your visit to Monet's House and Gardens. Then board the bus for the 1.5-hour drive from the city to Giverny.

When you arrive, you have two hours of independent time to explore Monet's studio, home, and vibrant gardens. Monet lived here with his family for more than 40 years, working on some of his Impressionist masterpieces. Inside, you can see his kitchen, sitting room, reading room, dining room, and bedroom, plus admire his collection of Japanese prints, which provided him inspiration.

Outside, stroll around rows and rows of flowers—from roses to nasturtium to blooms from East Asia—and visit the water lily pond and Japanese bridge, surrounded by weeping willows. This is a scene you'll probably recognize from some of his paintings. Throughout your self-guided tour, listen to the audio guide for commentary about Monet's work and life.

When your time is up, you'll be returned to the starting point in Paris, where your tour ends.

Giverny

Terrific experience . . . we enjoyed the grounds, gardens, and house. We also appreciated the ease of going with the charter bus, rather than dealing with Metro and trains.More

Wonderful outing for enjoying a garden and an artist

We did a half-day trip in the afternoon to Monet's Garden. The bus ride was comfortable. The outing was partially guided, to familiarize guests with the layout of the site, then we were free to explore on our own. We were afraid 2 hours would...More

Not well organised when you are there

The gardens were beautiful, even in autumn. So tranquil and the pond with lily pads was just like his paintings. Not that I have anything against them, but there was a lot of old people there and they tended to block the pathways with mobility...More

Gorgeous gardens and house as well as the water lilies

It was as great to see the gorgeous gardens Monet designed himself as well as his famed pond and bridge and water lilies. So many pictures to take of these beautifully maintained places, including his huge studio where he painted the panels on display at...More

Our tickets were NOT HONORED!!!!

We booked, well in advance, an afternoon trip with Paris City Vision to Monet's Gardens on August 31st, which was to be a gift to my wife on her birthday. But when we arrived, rather early, at City Vision that day, we were told the...More

This partiicular tour does not pick up or drop off. You need to go to the departure site and you will be dropped off at the same place upon return. It is right next to the Louvre, so it is well located.

I think it would be great to have more than 1/2 day at Monet's garden and Giv. That way if it is crowded, like our visit you'll be under less pressure. Take an early morning bus out if possible to avoid some of the crowds... More
