    Great secret but great views
Great secret with magnificent views on a sunny clear day. Fastest elevator in Europe. You won’t notice that but interesting none the less. A perspective you won’t get anywhere else.

    360 VIEW OF PARIS
The views from the very top of the tower are very good with a 360 view of Paris. Panels along the perimeter show you what is in view from that angle. You take the elevator up and if you wish climb stairs to the very top which is worth it. As far as price, I think it was somewhat overpriced.

    Rude staff
We arrived up on the observation deck 20 minutes early, to be go back downstairs as we weren't getting in because of our early arrival. The observation deck was absolutely empty. We went downstairs and promptly left. Very rude 😒

Great way for an astonishing aerial view over Paris
Ascend to the top of the Montparnasse Tower for an astonishing aerial view over Paris, including the best views of the Eiffel Tower. There is a restaurant, an outside observation deck on the top floor and several virtual reality kiosks to see the city back in the hey day. It is a great way to see the city. I wish we would've gone at night to see the city lights, but we were on a tour trip for the week.

    Not a good experience
The panoramic deck is closed, the building is filthy (broken windows, dirty, staff shabby). We booked ahead and they charge 26 euros per ticket for a “champagne experience” which is a small glass served very slowly from the cafeteria counter! It’s truly disappointing, so avoid if for a special occasion.

Wait til roof terrace open again
Bit disappointed roof terrace closed. We were told in advance of going up but not before buying tickets. Was a shame as the view was OK but roof terrace much better.

    Worth a visit
This building has seen better days but if you can see past that and persevere to the observation deck, the views of Paris are stunning. We enjoyed a drink and a snack in the cafe which was busy but the service was good. Massive queue for the toilets and the gift shop felt very cramped.

A Magnificent Observation Deck. A View of the Whole of Paris
I arrived at 9:30 in the morning when the observation deck opens, and there were almost no visitors. I was able to observe a magnificent view of the whole Paris from all four sides of the roof at once. By the was, there is a cafe at the top where you can take a cup of warm drink if you're cold. Also there're chairs at the roof. You can sit, drink you coffee of tea and enjoy one of the most beautiful cities in the world. Also there're binoculars, but even without them I was able to clearly see the key sights of Paris including the Eiffel tower, Notre-Dame-de-Paris, Invalides and even Sacre-Cœur.

Dirty, disorgnised.employees say they will close in 31/3/23. The price asked is not acceptable. When you look at the comments on TA and you ser there are 4 people visiting on a saturday noon, you can’t understand

Great views, especially to the Eiffel Tower.
If you want a high-level view of Paris this is a much better option than the more expensive, crowded and time-consuming Eiffel Tower. It also gives a superb view of the latter structure, especially as darkness falls and the Eiffel Tower sparkles with thousands of spangly lights for a few minutes on the hour every hour. We ascended on a bitterly cold winter evening as dusk fell. The surroundings of the tower are a rather shabby ‘concrete jungle’ and it took a little time to find the entrance (even though I’ve been there before) but once in there was no queue and we were whisked up in the lift in almost no time. Entrance payment is now made once reaching the top (it used to be at the base) and the views are stunning, with the gift shop, cafe and numerous information panels a bonus. But the main reason for visiting is the views. Once you have found the steps to climb to the higher-level open top of the tower (passing painted murals, not ‘graffiti’ as a previous reviewer described them) it’s great to be high up in the open air. It was interesting to see plans for a complete refurbishment of the tower and its surroundings, which will make future visits even more enjoyable. Thoroughly recommended!

    Good view
Good alternative to Eiffel tower. The view is better. The only problem was that the app didn't work very well and the information given there was limited

Great views but basic and in need of modernisation
Compared to other observation platforms worldwide, this is about as basic as they come! You enter through a deserted and pretty derelict and grubby shopping concourse, into a poorly signposted lobby that the 1970s clearly forgot. The lift may be fast but it is completely lacking in anything that builds excitement. Once you arrive, the facilities are again, basic. Taking a few steps further up the the graffiti covered stairs leads to the outside observation deck itself. Great views of this wonderful city, but you’ll be done in 10-15 minutes. There’s an average cafe, but little else to spend your time on. The best view of Paris? Maybe, but it badly needs refurbishment for a modern audience.

    Amazing view!
Perhaps even better place than Eiffel Tower expecially at night. You could see Eiffel Tower with sparkle lights as we did ❤️

great views from atop, Level 56…
Our Tour Gp did not manage to get the tickets for Eiffel Tower so this was a replacement, and a great one we found out. Named after Mount Parnassus, the Greek mountain, Montparnasse Tower is Paris’ only skyscraper and at 689ft high. Europe’s fastest lift takes less than 50 seconds to reach the viewpoint from the 56th-floor terrace! Second to the Eiffel Tower, Montparnasse Tower is a must-visit as it offers undoubtedly one of the best panoramas in the city, on a clear day to get spanning views across the capital Indeed breathtaking, and very cold (windy) when we move around at the open terrace, on a Friday day noon-time. Spectacular 360° view of Paris as we keep looking out for the main sights of Paris including Notre Dame, the Eiffel Tower and Sacré Coeur. The smaller monuments/districts like Invalides, Notre-Dame, Montmartre will need some help from the location indicators. At the lower level there are numerous audio-visual and interactive installations for tourists to explore and understand Paris better. Love the experience. A must-visit

    Great views but that’s all
The Montparnasse tower dominates the Paris skyline. When we visited it was surprisingly empty. We made our way up with no information as to what to do and walked around looking at the views from all angles guessing what we were looking at. We found a stairway up to the rooftop terrace which gave even better views across all the sights of Paris. There was a cafe which seemed empty with no atmosphere and a gift shop selling all the usual Paris souvenirs. It could be so much more. Better information on arrival and during the visit would have made a huge difference and enhanced the experience.

Disregard the underwhelming exterior of this 689 ft (210 meter) office skyscraper – it’s the view from the top that is spectacular! We decided to go after sunset to see the City of Lights at night (we went to the Eiffel Tower during the day). An elevator takes you to the 56th floor. From there, it’s 3 flights of stairs to reach the open-air panoramic terrace with 360-degree views and the sky above (come prepared for the weather). Great photo op with I love Paris sign. Buy tickets online from the tower website to save a few euros. No waiting: we breezed through security and straight to the elevator.

At 210 meters, Tour Montparnasse is one of the tallest buildings in France and offers what many consider the best view of Paris.

We’ve tried it twice and it’s really breathtaking. There are two observation decks — on the 56th floor and the open-air panoramic terrace. The best time to visit is just before dusk to see the sun setting just behind the Eiffel Tower and witness it glitter as the city turns into a sea of lights.

Its construction started in 1969 and finished in 1973.

A tour guide in NY once said to me that the best view of Manhattan is from the Top of the Rock because it has the view of the Empire State Building that the Empire State doesn't have. That's true of Tour Montparnasse in Paris as well... it has the spectacular view of la Tour Eiffel that the Eiffel can never have. The Montparnasse tower is a seventies eye-sore that should never have been allowed to be built and the area around it doesn't inspire confidence or safety BUT its view decks - best in the city! You will see it all from Sacre Coeur to Notre Dame and Tour Eiffel and everything in between - it's a panorama of the whole of Paris and it's breathtaking.

Jump on the train and pay the 20euro(approx) and spend some time up there. Montparnasse also has some of the best restaurants in the city.

The main draw for us on this visit was to see the city either side of dusk and to see tour Eiffel lit up at 9pm. We have previously had a combined day and night ticket which would recommend to anyone visiting for the first time. Tef entry was well managed so everyone could get a good view. I enjoyed the view more before it got dark this time, as you can see great detail.

Instead of visiting the Eiffel Tower our tourgroup came by here instead. Taking the elevator to the 56th storey after clearing security check, we reached the observation deck. It was not as crowded as Eiffel Tower and only about 2 tourgroup of visitors.

And wow! The view of the city from here was awesome and wonderful. We could have a 360-degree panoramic view of the city of Paris walking from one end to the other end of the building. And of course, the Eiffel Tower could be seen from here too! This view is so much different from ascending to the 2nd storey of the Eiffel Tower, which we visited in our previous visit.

We were told that the view in the evening was more beautiful with the lightings on around the city.

There's also a video presentation on the introduction of the buildings with artwork and displays on the wall, and also a small souvenir shop.

Recommended to visit.

We did this an alternative to the Eiffel Tower, and I'm so glad we did, as you actually get to enjoy the Eiffel Tower as part of the view! We decided to buy the double entry ticket so we could enjoy the view during the day and at night. It was brilliant value for money, but it would be even more cost effective if you wanted to see both and just went at dusk. we were advised to do this but wanted to have more flexibility with our time.

Personally I prefer the view of Paris from the tower, it's a very dated tower however less crowded and has the most stunning golden hour/sunset view of Paris and the Effiel Tower on a clear day.

The lift does feel a little bit scary, there is a very small shop and cafe at the top. There's a hidden door to a restaurant (unsure if this is good) but it you prefer to have a quieter view of paris this is better than the Effiel.

The best view in Paris. The Tower is the third tallest in Paris. Although it is just short of the Eiffel Tower in height, you can see the Eiffel Tower clearly from the tower. In fact, the tower provides a 360 view of all of Paris. It is 59 stories tall. An express elevator takes you to the very top. There is an inside observation area (with a cafe) and if you climb another story you can get to the upper observation area. The upper area is open air but there are glass walls that keep you from going off the edges. It would seem like a good place for photography but you have continually work against the glare and reflections from the glass windows. This can be done but you can't just point and shoot and not get reflections. Especially spectacular at night.

Although I have been coming to Paris for decades, and I have ascended the Tour Eiffel many times, I had never been up the Tour Montparnasse until this month. OF course, it makes sense to visit the icon on Paris and it is worth doing, but there is a huge advantage that Montparnasse has. You can see the Tour Eiffel from Montparnasse and if blends into the cityscape so well, especially in the evening.

You can purchase tickets online and there are a couple of places where your entry will be checked, before you enter the express elevators to the observation deck where you can get your 360 degree panaramic views of the city, through glass. The views are breathtaking, but you are not done. It is definitely worth going up one more floor to the open air deck at the very top of the building. The views here are equally good and it is nice, at least in the summer, to be out in the open air. We were there on a beautiful summers evening, for sunset and this is probably the time to go if you can.

There is a cafe on the panoramic floor but we didn't frequent it, and there is also a gift shop which we also didn't use. This is well worth your time. Paris is a fantastically beautiful city from most angles, in my opinion, but from this elevated platform is world class. Not cheap but well worth it, even if, as I am, you are somewhat afraid of heights. It's very impressive

Absolute Joke.... firstly the whole area feels like East Berlin at the height of the separation. Like I'm talking sketchy as....with zero signage or help. Also, don't bother booking tickets. We booked tickets months in advance and we still had to stand in a queue outside in the rain with everyone else that didn't have tickets left. The "staff" said yes, you queue like everyone else. Honestly a money making racquet before the building and area is levelled and redeveloped.

Absolutely terrible.

This building is called the middle finger by Parisians and the "tour" is an absolute middle to anyone stupid enough to buy a ticket or visit.
