Fantastic production of the musical, Cabaret
Ignore the people who booked tickets to Cabaret, thinking they'd be seeing a traditional 'cabaret' and not the musical, Cabaret. The advertising campaign for this was very, very clear that this was a production of the musical that inspired the Liza Minnelli film, directed by Robert Carsen, performed completely in English with French subtitles on screens suspended at various locations around the stage. Unlike the recent productions of Cabaret in the West End, this production was based on the traditional production - Maybe This Time and Mein Herr, both written for the movie, were missing, replaced with the original extended version of Money and.I Don't Care Much. Sam Buttery, from The Voice UK, excelled as a non-binary Emcee, with bald head, drag make-up, glitzy dress and Doc Marten boots, whilst Sally Ann Triplett gave a heartbreaking performance as Fraulein Schneider. This is a political musical, set in Berlin just before World War II, and chronicles the rise of the Nazis; it is ever relevant in Europe (and beyond) as we see the rise of right wing nationalism and fascism in certain countries, and the director doesn't shy away from this, using the finale to highlight the state of the world in video. Venue-wise, the Lido 2 Paris is a glamorous cabaret venue, with lamps that rise and fall, cabaret tables and chairs and booths. The venue will now undergo further refurbishment before its next production.

    Cabaret Meh
Saw the musical, Cabaret, this past weekend. It was a chaotic and long production, and the acoustics don’t really allow you to hear the performers’ voices. Left at intermission.

This is Cabaret. Not a cabaret.
This is not a cabaret. This is Cabaret, the famous musical. As in 'Wilkommen, bienvenue, welcome'. I don't think other reviewers understood what they had booked to see. Having travelled over from London for the week-end, we were not disappointed. We've seen Cabaret in the West End quite a few times, we knew what to expect. The whole cast were brilliant. Yes the set is stripped back, but this adds to the utter desperation of the time. The ending just had us in floods of tears with the updated back drop of current world politics a shocking reminder of how we can easily end up back in dark times. Only disappointment was no 'Mein Herr' but I know that was written for the film as opposed for the stage show. Go see while you can.

    It's a very uninteresting cabaret 👎😂
It was a very boring and long performance. 👎👎👎There was almost no element characteristic of Cabaret. During the performance in the hall was very disorganized, people are constantly coming in and out. I am deeply disappointed I will never visit here again 👎👎👎 I recommend visiting the Moulin Rouge - it's a miracle.

Lido’s Customer Care is a Shame
Very disappointed to see that my place, supposed to be in the best area, was in a table with a family of three people I didn’t know . I felt embarrassed for them and though that just pushing my chair a little bit aside would sort it out. The answer I received, in a very rude manner, from the supervisor was: “This is Cabaret, that’s how it works”. From this point on and with the calling of the manager all that happened was lack of politeness and professionalism. By the way, this was Christmas eve and the ticket price was 120 euros. The manager said that everything was perfect, it was my lack of French that created the problem. Communication and Customer Care is definitely above language.

    Terrible
LIDO 2 - Very poor production. Better advertised as a spoken word theatre piece and in no way a 'Cabaret'. Very boring, long and at times offensive or plain ridiculous. Many people left their tables partway through as the whole thing was just an anticlimactic, awkward joke. Only one scene (a depressive rendition of 'life is a cabaret' by the lead female character) received a mid-performance applause and not even because it was particularly good but simply for the fact it was the first time in 2 hours anybody on stage did something half-decent. Even contacted the Lido2 to request partial refund as this production was not at all what was advertised (EU Consumer Law) just to receive a reply 1 week late stating 'your request was declined' - just a joke. I can't actually believe they think they are justified in charging up to 130 euros per head for such a terrible production. DO NOT GO! Unless you're comfortable sitting through 3 hours of subpar theatre that repeats the same scene over and over again - then throws in some Nazi Soldiers and people in gorilla costumes to make its "statement" - if you want actual Cabaret, go to Moulin Rouge - or if you want a fun night in Paris just don't go here - 'cocktails' (just premixed spirit and juice) are nearly 20 euros - all around shocking really

Lido 2 is NOT the elegant cabaret it used to be.
Beware Lido 2 is no longer the elegant cabaret it used to be - it is now a scaled back venue - no table service for food or drink and the musical 'Cabaret' is playing - a very bleak and sparse production! The Lido's famous revue CLOSED in summer 2022 so the majority of reviews you read on this site have no relevance to this venue now.

    Rip off
Booked the Lido in June for my husband birthday in August. They cancelled weeks later due to closure. 9 weeks later no refund, they have stopped replying to emails and have had to contact bank to try and get money back. Disgraceful service

    The End of an Era
I am so glad that I got to attend the dinner and cabaret show at the Lido de Paris before they announced plans to close for business. The Lido opened in 1946 and moved to its current location on the Champs-Elysees in 1977. The meal was average but I thoroughly enjoyed the show -- the dancers, musicians and costumes were first rate. This truly the end of an era -- another victim of the pandemic.

    Disgusting
I booked this as part of my partners 50th weekend in October and I got an email today saying it was cancelled with absolutely no explanation. They tell me they won’t charge my card which is fine but having meticulously planned the trip to make it memorable for him it’s hardly acceptable.

Massive respect for the artistes but everything else was average
I booked directly on the Lido website. It is much easier to choose your seats / package compared to other travel aggregators. The booking confirmation & website clearly said that denims are not allowed and jackets/ties are recommended. Honestly, I felt stupid to have worn a jacket because The dress code is not followed by 75% of the visitors. I saw so many people in sport shoes, casuals, denims, etc. The dining tables are set so close to each other that you almost feel as if you are eating from the neighbour's plate. It felt terribly crammed and claustrophobic in spite of taking the category 2 seating. They can reduce the seating capacity by at least 30% for a more memorable experience. The food is limited but ok.. The sheer crowd makes if difficult for the waiters to remember your order and we got our mains much later than the rest and our desserts were also mixed up with another table. The actual show is fantastic and the artistes are so talented and professional! The magician's act gets a bit boring and I almost fell asleep towards the end. Overall, I would say, it's not worth 175 euros ! If you want more space, choose the category 1/premier seating but it will cost you much more.. you could give the dinner a miss and choose to only watch the show with drinks instead

    World class Caberet.
If you have never experienced this part of Parisian history before this is one of the best introductions you could get. Located in the heart of Paris, 200 metres walk from Charles de Gaule Etoile railway station and the same from the arc de Triumphe. The show itself has a couple of spectacular surprises in it and the singer was world class. My wife and family loved it and given a different floor show we would definitely go again.

Skip the dinner, check out the show
I want to start out by saying the show itself was very entertaining. The host (MC?) was a great choice. Spoke English and French, so us monolinguals could still participate! The Lido show adds in a lot of acrobatics (similar to a Cirque show). We were never bored and overall enjoyed the show. The dinner, though, that's a different story. If you are debating between the show only, or the dinner and the show, get your dinner elsewhere. Service was very slow... for us. We were the first ones sat in our general area. People sat after us had gotten their main courses before we had received any form of beverage. I'm talking 45 minutes. We got greeted immediately, and we didn't see our server again for at least 20 minutes. We flagged him down a few times just to try to get some water. Ok, that's fine, though. It happens. We finally get our food. It was just poor. All around disappointing, especially for the price.

    Great Experience all around
I was so looking forward to this show ! My experience was 10/10. I traveled for 2 weeks with my adult son and we went to the show fairly early, enjoyed champagne while we enjoyed the pre-show. Then for dinner we ordered a bottle of wine, an appetizer, two entrees and dessert. It was very good !! The actual show was SPECTACULAR: the dancers, the screenplay, the music, the costumes, etc it was all so beautiful and tasteful. Yes, a bit crowed but it is fine overall. Highly recommended.

Terrible customer service and shady practices to keep money. They canceled show 1 hour before I was due to go on Dec 27. No response to reschedule for 3+ days. Called reservations to find out “it is not their problem, many people are emailing”. And also that they will be closed the next 2 days, even though their own website is still selling tickets for these days. A scam. 195€ down the drain and I missed the opportunity to book a different show because of this.

The performances were good.
Given the covid times we live in and the fact that you specifically announced masks should be properly used during the show - there was complete disregard to the requirement by 90+% of the guests- and there was NO effort by Lido staff to remind people.
I have been to the show 18 years ago and it is clear it is now heavily commercialised with people jammed in to fill space.

Paying a premium price to sit on a miniature table with strangers to eat sub standard over cooked school food is unacceptable. Even if the food wasn’t trash, including overcooked VEAL then it still would not have been edible for lack of arm movement.

See picture where it shows the table inbetween strangers for 340 euros where the space was two hands wide, just. In addition house is wine is 70 euros… a premium for a below average experience.

The show was below par and we were blinded. Plus despite attempts could not see the show, the whole experience was then accentuated by waiters demanding payment at all times with flashlights during the start of the show experience.

Food. Both our group and those forced around us from Italy found the food sub par and not worth more than the plate it was served on. Despite arriving as directed, our courses were delayed and clearly over overcooked… veal on France that is grey?!

To summarise, over prices, show below average, would rather save money for money for cinemas next door. See picture

This show was the highlight of my trip to Paris! We went on a Monday and got the VIP ticket with the dinner show. While pricey, I feel it was well worth it. I have nut allergies and the staff was very nice and accommodating by modifying my meals. The singing, acrobatics, and the mime were all entertaining. I highly recommend this show!

We paid nearly 200 euros per person for dinner, show and half a bottle of champagne. We paid more to be in category 1 seating but to be honest wish we hadn't have bothered, some people who were seated in category 2 had better seats than us. We struggled to see a lot of it as we were sat quite far back to the right, very disappointed. We arrived as a couple and had to share a table with others, not quite the intimate experience we had hoped for.
The food was poor, the veal was overcooked and rubbery and very slow to come out.
The show was enjoyable, but must admit that towards the end I was looking at my watch wondering when it was going to finish, got a bit bored and it was very samey and I love watching shows.
Left feeling that we had been ripped off with poor seats and poor food. Wished we had gone to the Moulin Rouge now (didn't go there as heard mixed reviews about seating). Would I go again? Probably not, but if I did I would just purchase a ticket in the balcony area with no food.

Absolutely fantastic! The show was incredible and the food was just perfect. The service was also great and we had a fantastic night. The only thing preventing 5 stars is that you have to share tables and this isn’t clear when you book your ticket. We were lucky and managed to have a table of 4 to ourselves (there were 2 of us) but most others had to share. Drinks are also pricey but all in all a great night - cannot fault the show girls and boys at all!!

Would highly recommend the Lido for an excellent night out in Paris. We didn’t know what to expect (having never been to a show like this before) but thoroughly enjoyed every second. Having read review of this show v Moulin Rouge, we were glad we opted for the Lido. Easy location on the Champs Elysees, went for dinner option without drinks. Worked out better value to buy wine when you got there as opposed to the included drinks options (but still 70€ a bottle!). Professional photos were a nice touch but at 25€ we only bought one. Great dancing, singing and costumes, with a few surprises throughout the show. Definitely a memory to keep of our holiday in Paris.

Visited for New Years Eve. Over all a great show. The band and singers performing during dinner were outstanding, energetic and entertaining. They performed continuously for over4 hours. The show itself was good too. Very artistic. I would recommend trying to sit in the middle as we were on the side near the kitchen which is what kept this from being 5 stars.

The show was really wonderful, impressive, festive like real burlesque show, decoration and digital tricks are super. But hope to see in future more gentlemen's accompanying dances along with girls' solo dances. And we expected great cancan in the end,but it was't so impressive, but still good.
Door to table service was excellent. I did not find waiters rude, they are all concentrated with lack emotions, but we were ok with it. They have to work with full hall of spectators efficiently and do their job perfectly.
Cousine was delicious: 4 starters, 4 main meal, 4 desserts, but no creme brulee, sadly.
Thanks for nice photos, your photographers took. A bit costly on side, but online is cheaper if to reserve prior.
We also had pleasant time from 7 pm to 9 pm. Before show warm up performances were really cool as well. Overall, I would recommend for sure and would be happy to visit the show again.

It is our second time at the Lido, and despite us visiting 10 yrs ago, the decor is the same. Starting to look a little tired, but the show itself was amazing. Tastefully done, surprising and entertaining. Dinner was perfect, the only thing that could have potentially ruined our evening is being seated on a table of 4 with another couple we did not know, nor did we speak the same language...that was a bit of a shock, especially that we went for the Elysee dinner show, which is not cheap! They did move us to a table of 2 after we complained so it all ended well. But be warned, they tend to sit people together regardless of your reservation.
