Overview
Discover the region of Champagne in one day on this tour from Paris. You'll enjoy guided visits and tastings at renowned Champagne houses such as Moët and Chandon or Veuve Clicquot, as well as smaller wineries, plus have lunch at a family-run estate. Take advantage of this opportunity to explore vineyards, walk through chalk cellars, and learn about this legendary sparkling wine. This 11-hour tour is by minivan with a guide, who specializes in wine and Champagne and shares knowledge and anecdotes. Enjoy an amazing overview of Champagne’s vineyards during a Masterclass animated by your wine expert guide (depending on weather conditions from April). You will taste one special cuvee and learn each of its specificities. The Champagne tasting will not have any more secrets for you ! Besides, small-group tour limited to eight people ensures personalized attention.
Highlights
  • Guided tours and tastings at three different wineries in Champagne region
  • Visit a top Champagne house —Moët & Chandon, Mumm, or Veuve Clicquot
  • Champagne lunch at a family-run wine estate plus a master class
  • Hassle-free hotel pickup by minivan from Paris with a small group of 8 people
What to Expect
Your small-group tour begins with pickup from your central Paris hotel. Aboard an air-conditioned minivan, drive around 90 minutes to the Champagne region. En route, enjoy pastries as your guide explains the difference between Champagne and sparkling wine, and details the region’s wine-making heritage.

The first stop is at one of France’s most prestigious Champagne houses—Moët & Chandon, Mumm, or Veuve Clicquot (depending on availability). Take a behind-the-scenes look at the world-famous winery on a guided cellar tour and discover the secrets of the méthode champenoise. Sample renowned Champagnes as you learn all about bubbly from your guide.

Continue through scenic vineyards to a family-run Champagne estate. Meet the winemaker, learn about the importance of terrior, and stroll around the vineyard filled with the different grapes used for Champagne making. Then feast on a gourmet lunch paired with fine Champagnes.

After lunch, stop at historic Hautvillers Abbey, where Benedictine monk Dom Perignon produced the very first sparkling wine over 300 years ago. Finally, visit the third winery of the day, where you taste some rare and exclusive Champagnes.

On return to Paris, your tour ends outside the Hôtel de Ville.

It was a full day. 13 hours. Just wonderful. We were collected first at 7 am and dropped off (not back at our hotel but a central spot). Lucky you and if you get Clement (coco) you will have the best day.
