I booked the small group day trip to the Normandy beaches way in advance and I would highly recommend it! Our tour guide, Honore, was extremely prepared and told us not only about WW2 history, but also a lot of French history as well. The drive to Normandy was pretty long, but it didn't feel that way because of how entertaining Honore was. He was always very worried about the whole group and adjusted the tour to our needs and interests. The experience itsef was very humbling and the advantage of going in a small group is that you feel less rushed in all of the stops. Standing in Omaha Beach was a lifelong dream coming true and I felt that everyone (specially our guide) understood that, giving me all the time I needed. Overall, a wonderful experience that I would recommend to anyone that wants to visit this important historical landmark but doesn't have many days to stay at Caen or other towns.
Honore, if you are reading this, it was an absolute pleasure to be in one of your tours. You made this day truly special and full of meaning.

Booking this tour was a great way to see (and learn) about the events on D Day in a small group environment.
Our guide, Pascal, provided us a lot information on the drive to Normandy and also at each stop. He would give us a summary of events at that location and then we had time to explore on our own. The time allotted for this was ample and we never felt rushed. Would highly recommend

We were in Paris for only two days but really wanted to see Normandy Beach. We booked this tour and it was a great decision.. Our guide, Oliver was a history major,, and very knowledgeable about Normandy and Omaha beaches. He was able to explain tactics and answer our questions. He allowed us rime to explore on our own, but gave us plenty of information. We ate at an amazing restaurant where we ordered fresh caught fish and chips, and when we got back to Paris he even gave us suggestions for places to go to dinner that were within walking distance of our hotel. The tour exceeded our expectations again and again. Take this tour! You will be glad you did!

The small group and ease of travel was greatly appreciated. It’s a little over 2 hours to the beaches and we had strategic stops along the way for restroom breaks and to grab a quick bite to eat. The only downside is keeping up with the group. Our guide was extremely knowledgeable but sometimes it would have been nice to have a few more minutes to explore on our own at each spot. It is definitely an experience worth taking and worth the cost.

Tour hits the top Normandy sites, informative guide with a great overall perspective of D-Day from both the American and French perspective. Perfect time at each site, no lingering. Excellent , quick but not rushed lunch at a great local restaurant. Comfortable 8 person van . Small enough group (8) kept it personal and interactive . Great presentation at the American Cemetery.

The small intimate nature of the trip makes it a great way to travel from Paris to Normandy. Our host was very well versed in the history of Normandy and the events that took place here. My only complaint is that with the tight schedule you often felt very rushed from place to place.

We are also happy to read that you liked your host and we thank you for your last note, when telling us about what you least enjoyed, regarding "the tight schedule" when "often you felt very rushed from place to place". Olivier was fantastic. We were picked up at our hotel early. Picked up other travelers. We had a group of 5. Normandy was beautiful. No crowds at all. Perfect time to travel to France. No lines. Olivier very knowledgeable and had a lot of history to share. 5 stars!!

The Normandy D-Day beaches and battlefields is an experience. With each small group tour from Paris to Normandy I learn something new. The small group usually consists of 2 families/groups and 8 people with the tour guide. Leaving central Paris around 6AM allows for the drive to the beaches and plenty of time for tours, lessons on the history, and museum viewing - and a great lunch. After 5 visits, I will continue to go on this tour with each Paris visit.

Only by physically visiting these sites can you fully understand the enormity of what was achieved on D-DAY, this makes everything real, the cemeteries in particular are so very moving

The tour was amazing. Our guide, Ricardo, was amazing....nice, funny, knowledgeable and he went out of his way to make sure we saw everything. I have been wanting to go to Normandy for years and am so glad we went. Worth every penny of the price.

We spent about an hour at Pointe du Hoc and had a thorough walk through the main bunker. Then we had a little free time to take pictures or walk around more. We arrived early and it wasn’t very crowded but our guide told us sometimes it is very crowded and that might make it a little more challenging. We were happy with the amount of time we had there.
