I so enjoyed this cooking class. We made a full meal in this hands on class, learning techniques and about french foods, and food in general.

      Great choice!
C'est magnifique! My husband and I have gone to Paris numerous times but we had never taken a cooking class, so we decided to this time. We still cannot figure out why we waited so long to do it. We had so much fun and learned so many practical things that we never knew, but made perfect sense. Frédéric was our chef and he was excellent. He was a wealth of knowledge, lots of fun and made the class perfect. We also did the market visit which I LOVED! We learned a lot there as well. If you're considering taking a cooking class while in Paris, I HIGHLY recommend Le Foodist, and even the lunch cooking class with market visit. You will not be disappointed. Bon appétit!

      Cooking in Paris! OH-LA-LA!
This class was a delight! We arrived early to go to the market. Our host Chef was Frederic (Fred). He took us to the market nearby and explained a lot of French culture and cooking. We learned about French Cheese and the different regions that it is made. Along with a wonderful tasting! Back to class, where the rest of the group arrived to begin preparations. Everyone got to help prepare some facete of the lunch with total hands on. Fred made a great supervisor!! We made soup, main course of chicken, scalloped potatoes and beautifully prepared vegetables! Desert was poached pear, chocolate sauce and vanilla ice cream. YES, we made the ice cream! We consumed every coarse and even had wine to accompany it. This was a fun way to spend an afternoon cooking in Paris, being taught by a wonderful Chef with a fun sense of humor!! Highly recommended!

      Real Hands-On Cooking in Paris
If you are even slightly interested in how the French regard cooking and ingredients, and want a hands-on experience, Le Foodist’s Market Visit and Three Course Dinner is for you! I won’t repeat the details of the class as so many other reviewers cover it very well. Instead I’ll answer some of the questions my wife and I had going in. Our group was 11 people. It was not too many. We quickly all got to know each other and had a lot of fun together. The weather in Paris during our visit was cold and rainy and we wondered if we’d be standing around shivering at an outdoor market with umbrellas in hand. No worries - we visited a beautiful, modern indoor market that was very comfortable. Our chef/leader Paolo was great. He has a wealth of experience as a food professional and holds a degree in food history. There was nothing he didn’t know about ingredients, provenance, French methods, and particularly cheese making. We really did cook an elegant three-course dinner, doing everything from scratch (including making ice cream!). The recipes are definitely recreatable at home. I highly recommend you add this experience to your Paris itinerary.

Just do this - it’s so much fun!
This was my 2nd and 3rd class with Frédéric and it was just as awesome as the first! You get more than just cooking - you get wonderful instruction, delicious food, the reason behind the techniques, great insight into French culture, and just a whole lot of laughter and good vibes. I took the morning market visit and lunch one day and the breads class the next day. Traveling alone could make one feel awkward, but I left with new friends and Frédéric is just the best! I could not recommend him or Le Foodist enough. A la prochaine!

      Fun French Cooking Class
Very fun experience at Le Foodist. We learned some great new techniques (even as experienced home cooks), and Frédéric is a joy to work with! Highly recommend this experience if you enjoy hands-on cooking and want to have a fun time while learning something new.

The highlight of my Paris trip. Next to visiting family of course!
While this was my first trip to Paris, I have to say that the highlight for me was this class, it will always be the experience that I got to take home with me. I did not think I cared for some of the foods I was exposed to, I was wrong. Everything we made was a wonderfully new experience that I enjoyed to the utmost. Totally worth the cost and the time. If I am back in France, I hope to take another class or perhaps a week long class when I retire.

      Market Tour and Cooking Class
What a fantastic way to spend a day in Paris! I loved the Market Tour/Cooking Class with Frédéric! He is truly a gem and made the class so fun while teaching cooking techniques, and interesting facts about French culture, I learned so much, so appreciative and look forward to taking another class! Merci Frederic!!!

A great introduction to French cooking techniques.
"Fred" is a natural teacher. Funny and engaging, he made it a point to bring every student, even the teen who was there against her will, into the experience. Market visit was fun, especially Fred's lecture on the cheese families, We learned many techniques that are transferrable to other situations. I would definitely return.

Did you know a poached meringue can be a part of a dessert?
Chef (I forgot his name but he was a very sweet Brazilian guy) was so kind, patient, and informative. He explained every step and the reasonings for them and taught skills that can be used for several dishes and not solely the dish we were making for the class. He was very attentive and when answering an individual’s questions, he would encourage the whole class to listen to the explanation so every individual can learn too. I was telling him at the dinner table about my culture’s cuisine and its history and I could tell he was genuinely interested instead of acting like he knew everything just because he’s the chef. I went solo to this class but there was a great rapport and atmosphere that made the environment a safe and comfortable learning venue. Nice and cozy and I would definitely come back for more classes when I return to Paris.

      Best anniversary experience
We had the best time, Chef Stephan was so informative and patient with us. The croissants came out amazing, and we loved being able to sit around the table and share the food we made with our group. Plus, he gave us great recommendations on where to eat later.

We did a private macaron baking class this past week with Fanny, and it was one of the biggest highlights of our family trip to France so far, which is saying a lot :) We are huge fans of our instructor, Fanny, who was friendly, kind, patient, charismatic, funny, and a great teacher! We hope we can come back to Paris again in the future and do another class with her. I highly recommend the private class if you have kids too young to attend a group class (we have an almost 7 yr old son and 10 year old daughter). It was incredibly well orchestrated. The kids have an interest in cooking and baking so that was a great start, but this pushed their experience level in the best way possible, and they absolutely loved the whole experience. Both kids and parents participated in every step and we were all very engaged and had fun the whole way through! We and they couldn't believe how delicious the final product was! We loved sitting down for tea after the class and enjoying our homemade macarons, and we really enjoyed talking to Fanny, a mom herself, who could relate so well to the kids and shared so much knowledge with us about baking/cooking. Overall, excellent experience, highly recommended, and we are going to tell all our friends who like to travel to go here! What an amazing spot! Thank you Fanny and Le Foodist!

Bonjour R7264XEjamieb, thank you for your fantastic review of your Macarons baking class at Le Foodist with your Chef Fanny. Indeed when kids are less than 12 years old, while we can not welcome them in our small group shared classes, we are delighted to welcome them with their parents in a private class setting. It is wonderful to read you and your kids enjoyed the experience and loved the experience so much. And I am glad you highlight the final sit down - we call it "teatime" - to taste your creations, before leaving with boxes full of them. And it is great Fanny and you connected so well. Merci beaucoup and we look forward to welcoming all your friends! Cheers Fred

My friend and I attended the macaron class and were met by lovely friendly staff who welcomed us into the most beautiful quaint building in the middle of Paris. Frederic lead our class and made sure that each and every one of us knew what we were doing; so you are guaranteed to end up with delicious macarons that rival those at Ladurée! After the class we were able to enjoy our macarons with some tea and coffee, which was a lovely touch. I would highly recommend this to not only those visiting Paris but also those living in Paris (like myself). It is a completely different experience and gives you an insight into the french way of life. Im already eager to book in for their bread class!

Incredible experience! Our family of 4 (2 adults and 2 tweens) had a wonderful time as part of a class of 8 people, learning how to make Macarons. The chef was perfect--stepping into help when we needed it, and giving us room to do our thing.

The macarons were complicated to make, but SO DELICIOUS!

Such a wonderful experience for a couple or a family.

    Highly recommend.

I ADORED this class! Being an average "home baker" who has tried to make macarons a few times myself, I was looking for an immersive, fun and memorable experience - and this class delivered! Guillaume was a wonderful and patient teacher (with great English skills!) and guided us through making the fillings, making the shells, them putting it all together. Lots of opportunities for Instagram-worthy photos (if you're into that!) and we made so many macarons that we each took home a HUGE box and left extras for the staff. I can't recommend this experience enough - it was truly the highlight of my Paris vacation.

We had so much fun doing the macaron class with Amanda, who shares her expertise in a gentle, personable manner. The class is very hands-on and Amanda was always present to correct/advise as necessary but was also unobtrusive and we felt very relaxed in her company. It is a testament to Amanda's teaching that both of us (one keen amateur baker and one very inexperienced baker!) felt the class was perfectly pitched to our own level. Getting to share our macarons over tea/coffee with our fellow classmates in the beautiful Le Foodist building was a lovely touch, and we were so proud of the products we made. One warning - you will eat far many more macarons than you thought possible, and then take even more home! Thank you Amanda for a wonderful afternoon that was worth every penny and more.

Bonjour A473AYalicet, thank you for your wonderful compliments to Amanda's manner and teaching during your class. We indeed try to make sure that people without and people with experience both can enjoy the experience, and come out having learned something relevant. And I am particulary delighted you enjoyed the nice touch of the teatime after the class to taste your creations before leaving with a box full of them. We are told this is quite unique in the macarons classes offered in Paris. Cheers Fred

My husband and I took the Macaron class at Le Foodist and had the most amazing time.
Anna was there to greet us as we walked in. The lobby was cozy and welcoming, we made ourselves comfortable as we waited for the other attendees to arrive. The class consisted of 4 couples. We were each assigned a different flavor macaron to work with for the day. My husband and I were in charge of Chocolate macs, while the other couples worked with Vanilla, Lemon or Chocolate-Mocha.
Anna conducted the class with ease, instructing everyone on their ingredient lists and procedures. We worked in a beautiful space and professional kitchen. Everyone was engaged, not only in their own recipes, but also in those of our fellow classmates. Anna explained so much to us about the macaron baking process. She went into detail about tips, tricks, do’s and don’ts. I learned so much in the 2.5 hours we spent at Le Foodist! Bottom line, this was an incredible experience and I highly recommend making time during your trip to Paris to take this class.

This was an amazing experience for both my daughter and I! We took the macaron baking class with Frederic and we had a fabulous time! We learned how to make those delicious little morsels and got some great tips from Frederic on different kinds of macarons. The whole experience was wonderful and Frederic was a great teacher and host. When you are done cooking you get to sit and enjoy the fruits of your labor with your classmates. I would highly recommend The Foodist to anyone looking for a cooking class in Paris.

My husband and I really enjoyed the workshop. Anne had a great sense of humour, was organised and attentive to our needs. She gave us lots of tips along the way. Many thanks to the employees in the background who cleaned up as we were baking. I would hightly recommend this workshop. Sharing the macarons together with coffee and tea was a pleasant way to end the afternoon. We also had a box of our creations to take with us.
