What to expect
During the Belle Époque period around the turn of the 19th century, Paris’ Montmartre neighborhood was the heart of the city’s blooming artistic scene. Make your own way to this creative enclave to meet your guide, and set off on a walking tour. On a leisurely stroll down cobblestone streets and past charming cafés, learn about the artistic history of the area and hear stories about the many renowned artists who lived and worked here. See the former home of van Gogh, the windmill that inspired Renoir’s Bal du moulin de la Galette and the legendary Moulin Rouge nightclub captured in many paintings by Toulouse-Lautrec. Conclude your guided tour at the base of the Sacré Coeur Basilica, where you can take in sweeping views of Paris from the city’s highest point. Your guide will issue your skip-the-line ticket to the Musée de l'Orangerie and direct you to this lovely museum nestled in the Tuileries Gardens on the banks of the River Seine. Explore the galleries at your leisure, admiring Impressionist masterpieces like Monet’s Water Lilies series and works by Cézanne, Matisse, Picasso, Renoir and more. With an optional upgrade, continue your artistic exploration with a skip-the-line ticket to the Musée d'Orsay. Bypass the long queues and be inspired by the world’s largest collection of Impressionist and Post-Impressionist paintings. Please note: Ask your guide for directions if you want to visit the Musée de l'Orangerie and Musée d'Orsay (if you've upgraded) right after your walking tour. Alternatively, you can use your ticket to visit on another day of your choice.

Wonderful Tour
Jan 2020 • Couples
We really loved this tour. Audrey was our guide and she was very knowledgeable because she lives in this area. It was a great look into both the history of the area and the impressionist artists of France. It requires a lot of walking uphill so not good if you have mobility issues but very great tour.

Great small group walk through Montmartre!
Sep 2018 • Couples
Our guide was very knowledgeable about the Impressionist artists and their lives and interactions in this beautiful area of Paris. He enthusiastically led us through the narrow streets, pointing out apartments and cafes where artists such as Monet and Toulouse Lautrec stayed and met to discuss their art. Love the small group experience (there were 5 in out group), as you could be close enough to him to hear his commentary as you were walking. Easy to ask questions, as well. There are many wonderful restaurants and bars in the area, as well, so take note of where they are if you would like to go back for lunch or dinner. The tickets you receive for Musee de l'Orangerie and optional Musee d'Orsay(which I highly recommend getting) do not have to be used that day. They may be used any time during the rest of the year. Both museums are amazing if you like Impressionist art. The tour ends at the rear of the Sacre Coeur, and does not include commentary for inside the church. The 90-minute tour just flew by!

If you love Impessionism you need to do this walk
Apr 2018 • Solo
This is a great walk, the guide was very enthusiastic and knowledgeable.
Seeing the old caberets frequented by Toulouse-Lautrec and the apartment Van Gogh and his brother Theo lived in brought the Impressionist era to life.
A highlight among many was realising that the film Amelie was shot here.
Be aware that while it is only 90 minutes you'll be walking up and down steep streets and alleys.
