Great way to see the Eiffel Tower
AYA was a fantastic guide! The tour was through in the tower's history and AYA did a great job of pointing out the major sites of Paris's skyline.

A great trip. Castles are beautiful. Could have done with longer to look around, but guides are very knowledgeable and friendly.

    Great guides, lousy logistics
First the good: Two guides we had-- one on the bus to Giverny and the other through Versailles--were both excellent. The issues I had were 1) The two different start and finish locations were far our of the way from any tourist areas in Paris, and an expensive cab ride each way. The Metro wasn't an option because the tour started so early, and finished in a different location we were unfamiliar with. 2) After our guide made it very clear to be back in the lot for our return bus by 6 pm, the bus showed up at 6:15 while we all had to wait in the rain. I realize Paris is crowded, but you do this every day and should be prepared for traffic.

    First time
The guide was kind. I would like more relevant information about the tower, and curious facts, and a not broken screen phone to show the pictures. But in general was okay.

    Fun and Informative
I was so glad to have a tour guide to get the best of the Louvre Museum. Our guide made sure that we saw the highlights in each wing of the museum. It was an amazing tour!

    Great Tour and Guide
A terrific and worthwhile trip; fairly close to Paris and seeing Versailles in person was incredible. Thanks to our guide Omar, who was not only funny and informative but resourceful. (I made the mistake of trying to get though the day on a cappuccino and half a croissant and got a little woozy during our visit, and he quickly produced a banana out of his bag which had me back to normal in a minute or two.) A must-see if you're visiting Paris and highly recommend this tour.

    Unforgettable evening in the desert
The desert safari was truly unforgettable. Riding camels, trying sandboarding, and enjoying the traditional entertainment at the camp was incredible. The sunset in the desert was one of the most beautiful sights I’ve ever seen. A must-do

    Worth every penny
Florence was very knowledgeable. She got us through the door and stored our coats and umbrella away quickly. We were given a lot of time to see the Mona Lisa. We were early before the crowds. We learned a lot from her commentary. Enjoyed the tour

Great Trip and Worth a Visit
Jasmina and Ifi were terrific and funny guides and while we packed a lot into a day we never felt rushed. Especially enjoyed the wine tasting (bought a bottle or two) and the freedom to wander Blois and the castles we visited. Great introduction to a beautiful region of France and a very doable if somewhat long drive from Paris.

    Good Long Day Out
This is a really good day out to see a very lovely part of France. It is a long day, so be prepared for the long drive on the bus. The guide was Ok and provided all the necessary historical information about the castles we were to visit. The only problem with this tour is lack of time at the second chateaux. It deserves more time than was given. I would suggest cutting time in Blois by 30 minutes, and also skipping the wine tasting when we get to the second chateau. This would then allow more time to actually see all the rooms and gardens at the chateau. I would recommend doing the tour because the Loire valley and the chateau are gorgeous, and it is a good break from the city.

I was very disappointed in this tour. Despite it being a full 14 hour tour, the way it was scheduled made for extremely short visits at the historical sites. I wish they had skipped the cider tasting and spent longer at the WWII sites we signed up to see. For example, we only had 40 minutes at the American cemetery which was barely enough time to walk in & get back to the bus before it left. I literally had to power walk through the Utah beach museum in order to not get left behind by the group. Also, our guide gave us zero information at each site. I had to linger near other tour groups to learn anything, our “guide” was essentially a chaperone just there to make sure we got on & off the bus on time. If you’re interested in learning anything, I’d recommend paying a more to do a different tour with a small group or as a private experience.

Hi Ccarsman, Thank you for sharing your feedback on your Normandy D-Day Landing Beaches Day Trip with Cider Tasting & Lunch from Paris. We appreciate your comments and apologize for any disappointment you experienced during the tour. We understand that the short visits at the historical sites and limited time at the American cemetery were not ideal for a comprehensive exploration of these significant locations. We regret if the scheduling did not allow for a more immersive experience at the WWII sites that you signed up to see. Your feedback regarding the allocation of time and focus on the cider tasting is valuable to us, and we will take it into consideration as we review and enhance our tour itineraries. We apologize if the information provided by your guide fell short of your expectations. Our aim is to provide knowledgeable and engaging guides who can offer insights and historical context at each site. We will address your concerns with our guide management to ensure that future guests receive a more informative experience that is more reflective of our quality standards. Your feedback helps us improve our offerings and cater to the preferences and expectations of our valued guests. Thank you again for your feedback, and we apologize for any inconvenience caused. We hope to have the opportunity to provide you with an improved tour experience in the future. Best regards, Edgar J. Communications Manager City Wonders

My fiancé and I took the Normandy D-Day trip with John. Our experience was excellent. John was very knowledgeable (we got both WWII history and the history of France), friendly, and made sure that our time at each site was maximized. In fact, we ran into a traffic jam that required a 1 hour detour on the way to Normandy. Without missing a beat, John arranged for the cider for the cider tasting to be delivered to our lunch spot so as to ensure that we got back to Paris on time. If you’re a person who wants to spend hours at each site, this tour is not for you. But, if you want to see what Normandy has to offer and get some great information with a knowledgable tour guide, we highly recommend.

Highly recommend this day trip from Paris. It starts quite early in the morning, but you get a chance to nap on the bus and get some coffee at the rest stop before the storytelling begins. Our guide, John, was very knowledgeable about WW1 and WW2 history and made sure that everyone was comfortable (adequate bathroom breaks) throughout the whole day. One of the best parts was John drawing a map in the sand in Utah Beach and describing the events that occurred on d-day and the following weeks. Standing there, where it happened, looking up and down the coast - it all comes to life. All of the stops were great. Btw, we didn’t get it, but we thought the fish lunch option looked the tastiest!

John Price was my tour guide and I really enjoyed the tour because you can tell how passionate he is about subject matter. As someone such as myself who has taken World War 2 History classes and read/watched multiple forms of media on world war 2 and world history, I still came away with some new factoids and other things that I didn’t even know! I also appreciated how thorough he was at the sites. The only drawback I had (and it wasn’t against the guide) was that I wish we had a couple more minutes at the sites, even 5 more minutes, specifically the museum at the beginning and the cemetery at the end. My wife and I had just enough time to speed through both and get the gist of everything, but wished we had a few more minutes to slow it down a little bit to process. Besides that, great tour and would definitely recommend to others

Horrible!!!!

Bucket list item NOT CHECKED because of a no-show tour guide!

The large group arrived at the meeting spot on/tine or early in the 37 degree weather. We waited and no one came!

The bus was across the street but the drivers wouldn’t let us get in out of the cold because there was no tour guide, so we stood there for overan hour FREEZING.

We tried calling City Wonders ourselves and so did the bus driver. After being disconnected multiple times and getting no help or status ourselves from City Wonders, finally the buss driver was able to get through and was told to cancel the trip because they could not find a tour guide.

City Wonders did not proactively reach out to me to offer up a refund. I did submit a request for a refund and it is supposedly being done. Many of the people there were complaining that they were expecting to be reimbursed for their Uber/ taxi fares to/ from the meeting point. I doubt that City Wonders will make them whole.

There are too many tour companies in Paris to take a chance on this “fly by night” outfit. Don’t say I didn’t warn you if you do risk it.

Hi L6152TUmichaelp, We sincerely apologize for the unacceptable experience you had with our Normandy D-Day Landing Beaches Day Trip. This is indeed a rare occurrence, and we deeply regret the inconvenience caused by the no-show tour guide. We understand the frustration of standing in the cold for an extended period, and we apologize for the lack of communication and assistance during that time. We have already processed a full refund for your tour, and we are actively investigating and addressing the issues that led to this unfortunate situation. Regarding reimbursement for additional expenses such as Uber or taxi fares, we are reviewing each case individually and will strive to make things right for all affected customers. We appreciate your patience and understanding. This incident falls well below our usual standards, and we are taking immediate steps to ensure it doesn't happen again. We value your feedback, and we hope you might consider giving us another chance in the future. If you have any further concerns, please don't hesitate to reach out, and we'll do our best to assist you. Kind regards, Edgar J. City Wonders

Overall the trip was fine.
First there was no guide at the pickup point with a "sign". We were on the wrong side and he walked by with a group never thinking we might be waiting for him. And then it was hard to get his attention so we could check if he was our guide. He knew people were missing and really didn't make an effort to look for anyone nearby who might be in the wrong place. Fortunately we managed to chase him down.
I think the cider excursion could be cut in favor or more time at the Utah museum and elsewhere. That was pretty rushed. And he allowed us to drive by Normandy since we had time but I think the tour should include a stop there.
Finally the lunch was awful. A slice of ham with brown gravy and French fries? Ugh. The pizza were huge and many people didn't eat all if it. I think the fish was fine although small, and again with fries. That's it? And the dessert was minuscule and very dry. No offer of soft drink or any other options than water or hard cider. The service was fast, however.
Our guide was nice enough and provided a lot of information.
He did ask everyone where they were from - I think something to break the ice is nice as most tours don't do any introductions. So I appreciate that.

The trip was not too far of a distance from Paris, yet enough to allow us to view and appreciate the natural beauty of this region of France. My anticipation of the history and epic occurrences of D-Day didn’t come close to the emotional feelings I experienced when I actually arrived. Lunch was excellent as well as the french farm and liquor tasting opportunity. The American Cemetery at Normandy was humbling, so peaceful and thought-inspiring……heaven-like. John, our guide, was incredible. A wonderful blend of intellect, knowledge and humor. His conversation was natural and spontaneous. He exuded a genuine interest in assuring that our day was entertaining, and one that would exceed our expectations. A very skilled and poised tour guide. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Paris, and to make a special request for John as the guide……Jeff Meehan from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA

Our tour guide had moved to Paris from Nigeria two years ago and said he had a background in digital marketing. Besides the script he was reading while on the bus ride to Normandy, he seemingly had zero knowledge of the sites we visited as it pertained to D Day and the onset of America’s involvement in WWII. During the bus ride, he continuously apologized for his lack of knowledge and was receptive to any corrections and input by tour members. This particular guide had only previously conducted three Normandy tours. Tour groups at the sites from other tour companies had guided tours with knowledgeable guides that were providing information and insight while escorting their groups throughout the locations. Overhearing these other guides made it very apparent what we were missing out on. We were just set loose to explore on our own. Time allowed at each D Day sight was between 40-60 minutes and not sufficient. The cider tour was a complete waste of time and could have been omitted thus allowing at least 30 minutes more at each of the three D Day sites. The lunch was adequate however we were only given a one liter bottle of water to share between six people. My wife and I did not get any. My strong suggestion would be to take a tour with a company that provides knowledgeable guides and avoid this tour at all costs.

The trip was great! Our tour guide Scott was very knowledgeable and helpful. He did a great job. My only critique is that I wish that we had more time in the museums and beaches. We had about 20-30 min at each and it felt somewhat rushed. And I felt the 45 minute lunch was unnecessary. My suggestion would be to cut out lunch. Let people bring their own food and eat it on the bus and use that extra time for the museum and Omaha beach

The whole experience to Normandy was fantastic. We enjoyed the museum at Omaha Beach . We also enjoyed the sumptuous lunch in the small seaside French town. The cider tasting was an unexpected treat and thoroughly enjoyed the tasting. The turrets at Omaha beach was surreal. Last the American Cemetery and the playing of Taps was moving.

John, our guide was absolutely fantastic. He was extremely knowledgeable and professional and kept the whole group actively involved and engaged. His stories and in depth factual accounts made the whole day memorable and definitely a highlight of our 9 day trip to Paris. We intend to recommend this excursion to all our ‘well-traveled’ friends and family.
