In a warm and relaxed atmosphere, your guide will give you plenty of bread-making tips and will tell you about the bread history. - Reny321000Delicious and FunMacaroon class was a unique experience, a must in going to Paris. Chef Marthe was kind and patient. She showed many techniques that would help anyone perfect a macaroon. Her techniques were well excecuted and I can't wait to try and practice them at home.
- Elizabeth D00Great Baguette Making ClassMy granddaughter and I took this class and really enjoyed it. In addition to learning the different types of baguettes and how to make them we also learned how to make croissants
- drigo2300Great ExperienceThis was an awesome experience. Chef Carole was wonderful. She was very hospitable from the beginning and she taught us the meal we made step by step. She’s is very professional on teaching what to do. She made us fell welcomed in her place and my family and I felt so comfortable. I would definitely make another reservation with chef Carole if I come back to Paris to visit.
- T8299EWsamanthah00Amazing wine and cheese with LuisWe had an amazing time with Luis at Polidor with a private wine and cheese tasting. We learned so much, tried 3 amazing different wines, and 3 delicious cheeses. He is very knowledgeable and kind and genuinely a great time! If you are going to do a wine and cheese tasting you need to book with Luis. I can’t believe how great this experience was!
- Kelly S00Hungry in ParisTour ended one hour early. Not a good value for the money at all. Have done six other food tours in various cities across US and Europe and this was by far the most disappointing.
- Z9696CCkathleenc00Terrific! If you have the time, go for it.Loved it! Fun experience. Chef was so patient and helpful. Learned some new culinary techniques and quite a bit about spices indigenous to France. End results was delicious! And, the view from the apartment gave us a unique view of Paris.
- Kelley F00Such a treat!Dropping a quick note to say that we had an amazing time with learning to make macaroons, and we all agree that these were the best we tasted our whole vacation! Easy instruction, a warm inviting host, Marthe was everything we were looking for in this adventure. Not to miss this intimate Parisian experience!
- Larry100Cambridge00Fun Parisian cooking experienceThe cooking class was fun. We met the cook, Carol, at her flat in the 11e, a varied neighbhorhood, less touristic than the central neighbhoods. Carol, who is lively, smart, creative, and very ecologically minded, brought us to her beloved outdoor market where we shopped for ingredients to help her prepare tomato tarts with a frozen crème fraiche and cottage cheese sorbet (an original combination), a stew of turkey rumps with pasta and julienned zucchini, and a strawberry tartlet for dessert. Carol is a journalist and we had good conversations over the meal. I would definitely recommend this culinary experience with Carol.
- sarahtravels201900Wonderful experience working with Meeting the French!!Meeting the French connected us with the best guides and drivers in the country, we are sure of it. From Paris to Bayeux and Provence, even Nice! We had exceptional service by all drivers and our guides were so well chosen. We would not hesitate to work with Meeting the French again. Highly recommend!!
- S7342OKsarahw00Thibaut our Tour Guide <3Chocolate tour was delightful! Thibaut had extensive knowledge and experience with a mixture of humor and history. 10/10 would do this again! :)
- 470luckys00I love the foodHad good experience with the staff and the services are good. Chef Kennedy makes good food and very friendly he make good it's really amazing and delicious Thank you
- KamikazeZoomy00Highlight of our TripI think this was the best part of our weekend to Paris! Our guide Thibaut was friendly and knowledgeable and he took us to several very nice chocolate shops in the Marais, explaining the history of not only the chocolates and styles, but the shops themselves and the neighborhood as a whole. We also tried some excellent pastry and ended the tour with the best sorbet I've ever had. We especially liked that the tour was just our group (my husband and myself) and Thibaut made it clear that if there were specific things we did or didn't want to do or focus on, the tour could be adjusted to our liking. The tour lasted three hours and was well worth the money. We would absolutely do this again!
- 632mimib00Thibaut, A Good Tour GuideMy daughter and I went on a Pastry and Chocolate Tasting Tour of Saint-Germain with a guide named Thibaut. The tour is not one of the options in the drop-down menu, but I have written it here exactly as it is written on my itinerary. I don’t know how we ended up on this tour as I never requested it through my travel agent, but Thibaut made the time very enjoyable. He was knowledgeable and personable, and incorporated a lot of interesting history into the tour. I am writing this review because I want to thank Thibaut for being a good tour guide.
- Mychelle B00Mother and daughter We had a fabulous day, sourcing our ingredients than cooking, with the help of Chef Myriam. Food incredibleFood amazing, venue incredible views over Paris..Chef Myriam and us sourced the freshest ingredients from a local market..that in itself was an experience.
- Q5427LSheidif00Memorable ExperienceAbsolutely magnificent! Chef Frederic was engaging, patient, welcoming, and delightful. He shared the best tips, and my teen and I both feel competent to make macarons on our own now. Such a wonderful experience in every way -- memories to cherish for a lifetime!!

An excellent view of a working french bakery. From yeast to flour to rising dough- 24 hours for a proper baguette. Then watching how the dough is rolled and cooked. Then a tour downstairs where the patisseries are made along with specialist items. And all sparkingly presented by a knowledgeable lady who filled in many details. And the staff were so welcoming. Despite a 3am start. An excellent time and a really good tour- well worth it.

We did a behind the scenes bakery visit. It was a very small bakery, you could see a bit of how they do the baguette and very little about patisserie. You can see only what they are doing at the moment, so when we were there there was not much to see. They were not doing croissants only some little puffs. They gave us to taste a piece of baguette and a small piece of cake.To take with us they gave us a cold baguette and a cold croissant, nothing just from the oven. The tour was less than 45 mins. The guide was nice though. Overall, too expensive for the experience, I will not reccomend it.

Hello inseraphin,
Thank you for taking the time to leave a review after your visit! We apologize that you felt that the experience wasn't worth the price. Unfortunately, as this is an authentic French bakery, they cannot plan their baking and preparation schedules around the time of the visits; they must prepare different things on different dates according to what is needed at the time. Therefore, it is impossible to guarantee that visitors will see certain things being made during their visit. As for the gifts at the end, the baguette and croissant that you received were indeed freshly-made during that morning; these are not necessarily served hot, and it is typical in France to eat them colder or at room temperature. If you feel you are looking for a more complete bakery experience on your next trip to Paris, don't hesitate to write to us at contact@meetingthefrench.com; we offer personalized baking and cooking classes and would be delighted to welcome you back for an experience tailored to your expectations.

My teenage granddaughter and I visited a bakery this past week. We enjoyed gracious hospitality but the tour was long and tedious, even at one hour. The bakery was recognized for its quality and our tour guide was good. The bakery was small and they seem to work one bread and one pastry product at a time. There was a lot of waiting and watching. My granddaughter and I agreed we would not do it again.

Hello,
Thank you for your review! We're sorry to hear that your time at the bakery seemed a bit slow or tedious. As the bakers have planned out their entire days and bake according to what is needed on the shelves at certain times, it is true that every visit is different and you may not get to see every product being made at once. We hope that you learned a lot from the experience and are glad you enjoyed your time with your guide Vincent.
