- A4719ZAjanetk0 contributions10 Star ExperienceMy husband, best friend and I went to the champagne region for 4 days for a milestone birthday celebration. We were with Stephane for 3 full days and are now entirely spoiled in terms of travel. He was fabulous in every way and made this a trip of a lifetime We learned so much about the region, its history, the people, and of course champagne. Experiencing the region with the knowledge of an insider made this truly exceptional. Going to some of the big houses and also smaller grower/producers was more important than we would have known on our own. This was a 10 star experience and making a new friend was a gift and bonus. Thank you Stephane and let us know if you get to our area.Written October 30, 2024
- O678ERmarcelot0 contributionsGreat time with a fabulous guide! We have an amazing time with Stephane and Tours in Champagne. We were a complex group of 4, from different countries, different languages, different eating habits (including one vegetarian), one person in a wheelchair and another one who could just join the group for a part of the tour. Stephane managed to help us get the most of our time without needs to worry about logistics, tickets, restaurant bookings, parking or any other complication, leaving all our energy free to discover the places and taste the wines. Our goal was to know and learn about champagne, so we choose the 3-days Aroma Tour, and it was superb. We had the opportunity to go to the big houses with their art galleries and Disney-World-like stuff, but also to meet actual growers and small producers making very personal (and delicious) wines. In each of the 3 days we have learned new things without feeling that we are repeating programs. Stephane also helps us with booking a car between Orly and Reims and with restaurant recommendations in town. As an additional bit of luck, we were there just in the harvest time. Besides the natural beauty of the moment, we took advantage of Stephane’s huge knowledge of the region and network with people to visit winemakers and see the grapes been pressed and to try the first juice just fresh out of the press. If you are looking forward to visit Champagne and go beyond all very usual places, if you want to travel but don’t want to have to plan for every detail, of if you want to do something specific in the area and need assistance to make it happen, just call Stephane and he will help you with a kind smile in his face. We do strongly recommend Tours in Champagne and will sure call them once we plan another trip to Champagne. Cheers!Written September 30, 2024
- angeaustralia20160 contributionsThe ONLY WAY to visit the Champagne houses of Reims & Epernay! We just enjoyed a fabulous day with Stephane visiting the champagne houses of Reims and Epernay. It was so lovely to have a personalised tour and not be part of a group, as it meant we were able to engage with Stephane so we got the most out of the experience - his knowledge of champagne, the houses & the region was amazing and we learnt so much. Everything was very well organised, we travelled in a comfortable, clean, modern car and lunch at a local restaurant in Epernay was also delightful. Thank you Stephane for a wonderful day - your tour far exceeded our expectations and made us fall even more in love with champagne!!!Written July 17, 2024
- marcnat0 contributionsEnjoyable.Unfortunately for us we arrived when the renovations were on the go. So we thought it was closed and missed some of the tour driving about trying to find where to park and who to speak to. The staff were very friendly. We missed the introduction and made the chalk cellar tour. Fascinating but not more than a few metres of tunnels to explore. I was hoping for more caves and tunnels. There is a nice light and sound show down there and then you head back to the lounge for a tasting. You get to choose white or rose - vintage and non vintage of your preference. I preferred other houses where you move through to experience all 4 rather than having to choose just 2. But I guess this is the way they do it. Enjoyable. I think my expectations for Ruinnart may have been a little high.Written July 14, 2024

While other tours offer more of a touristy (and busy) spectacle, I rank this one as my favorite because it was more intimate, authentic, and did I mention the elegant? Stephane was an amazing guide throughout our 2 day visit with him. Our only regret is that we didn't make it longer. He has a way of sharing his in depth knowledge of the area in an interesting and exciting way. Our visits to each of the vineyards were amazing, especially the smaller houses that he chose. His ongoing communication prior to our visit was outstanding while he was custom planning our tour. He patiently answered every question and was quick to welcome us to Reims once we arrived. Do not hesitate to schedule time with Stephane to see this amazing area! We miss you Stephane!Written May 25, 2023

My wife and I had a wonderful experience with Stephane on Valentines Day in Champagne. He provided extremely personalized service and itinerary based on what I had wanted for my wife before we arrived. We were able to meet with two small winemakers and my wife cannot stop talking about the day we had. Stephane is even helping get some of our purchases back to us in the states. One of the most enjoyable experiences was spending lunch with him and his wife in their BnB home. We would not hesitate to do this tour again should we return to Champagne and Stephane is the only person in Champagne we would even consider. A truly memorable experience for the both of us! Merci Mille Fois Stephane! A bientôt!

My family and I traveled from Paris to the Champagne region a few days ago and we cannot say enough on how wonderful of a time we had with Stephane! We tasted some of the best Champagne from the smaller houses which was exactly what we were looking for! We've been to the area before and were not interested in going back to the larger Champagne houses that lacked the personal and refined expression of the small houses. We learned a lot and got to see the beautiful French countryside! As an extra special treat we were invited to Stephane's home for a delicious French meal cooked entirely by Stephane's very sweet wife, Prycille! We had so much fun and will be back! Stephane's tour really eased our minds with the current situation that is evolving throughout the world. We are glad we still decided to visit France for vacation afterall!🥂❤🍾

Hello Janet. Thank you so much for your review. I know that you came with a Champagne taste you wanted to challenge. My friends small winemakers are very good competitors. Champagne is good in every situation : even with Covid we adapt our way of touring to make the visits and tastings confortable and enjoyable. The kids were fantastic during all the day too. If you need more Champagne at home, just ask :). Cheers !

This was by far a one-of-a-kind experience. My wife and I were celebrating our honeymoon and debated whether or not to “try” and visit Champagne on our own or pay for a guide. Our day with Stéphane was amazing and worth every penny/euro!
The train from Paris to Reims was quick and easy and when we arrived Stéphane was waiting for us on the platform. We arrived before the wineries were open so we made our way to the Cathedral of Reims which you can see in the pictures. It was insanely beautiful and even more special because its very similar to Notre Dam which will be closed for repairs for a long time and you won’t be able to visit. Stéphane was very knowledgeable about the Cathedral and it’s history and we had a great time learning about the importance of Reims in French history.
We made our way a few minutes across town to Pommery and visited the champagne caves. There are millions of bottles, rich history and so much to see! We had a tasting at Pommery where he taught us about tasting champagne before heading to lunch. We were running a bit behind schedule and although there are many amazing restaurants in the town, Stéphane graciously invited us to his home where his wife cooked us a delicious French meal.
Once we left we made our way to his friend’s home who produces very high quality champagne. His friend was very inviting and they taught us about the process of growing the grapes, making champagne, bottling champagne etc...we then tasted a few of the most amazing champagnes we’ve ever had. I’ll let you in on a secret: the larger champagne houses have beautiful grounds, facilities and caves although the smaller houses tend to have much better tasting wines at more reasonable prices.
Following our last tasting we headed back to the train station where Stéphane dropped us at the platform and we headed back to Paris...we both slept the entire way home.
This was fun, informative and unlike anything you’ll be able to do on your own or in a large group. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a special experience while in France.

Hello Cameron & Esmerlada,
I'm so happy to organize this tour during your honeymoon. This tour is good way to compare the big houses of Champagne and the small producers. The taste are so different even between 2 small ones as between 2 big ones. I'm glad you appreciate so much this tour and wish to seen you back for one of your numerous wedding anniversaries ! Cheers !

Stéphane Demissy's private day tour in champagne was absolutely wonderful. We took this tour in the late spring during a 11-day visit to France, and it was absolutely one of the best days of our trip. We visited two small producers and tasted many different champagnes. Stéphane not only had an amazing depth of knowledge about champagne and the region, but also of French culture, politics, history and other topics. He was funny, polite, charming and welcoming. The personal touches were also much appreciated, including an authentic French luncheon served by his wife at his house. We like how he treated us as family guests, and not just as mere tourists. This tour is very highly recommended!

Our tour guide Lisa was very knowledgeable and showed us many great sites within the Champagne region! Biggest factor for going on a private tour was having a child. It allowed us to be able to see the champagne houses with ease while learning as much as possible. The family vineyards we visited were great!! I left the tour with a great appreciation for all the hard work that goes into each bottle of Champagne!

We had such a wonderful time with Stephane. The day was planned perfectly and he coordinated with us in advance to ensure the experience met our desire to visit local champagne producers. We were so lucky to visit during harvest and were able to see the producers in full action. Truly a unique and memorable experience. The lunch cooked by his wife was such a special touch, and visiting with them at their house really added to the day. Don’t hesitate to book with Stephane, you won’t regret it!

The Private Tour was enjoyable. I never liked champagne until I took this tour. From learning how it’s processed to tasting the different varieties of champagne from several wineries, Chamgpagne is now my favorite alcoholic drink. I would recommend this tour to everyone, even if you are a champagne conisseur. Stephane was a great host and very accommodating. Lunch was provided by his wife Priscilla and was very delicious.

I'm so happy the Champagne is now your favorite drink ! You have felt all the originalty and complexity of the Champagne world meeting handcrafters of the Champagne. The ones who are passionate respecting the traditions and trying to innovate at the same time.
I'm sure you will come back soon :)

Great experience and very well organised.
Even during the Covid restrictions we were very comfortable and well looked after.
The tour was not rushed and was definitely good value for money.
We really enjoyed Jerome’s place and he was very patient with us, we also opted to go to the big champagne house which we found quite impressive.
Thanks again very much Stephane 👍

Covid19 is a problem we can manage during tour for the safety of all. I happy you felt safe and confident.
The comparison between the small producers and the big houses is so interesting to do. The 2 are wonderful. The small producers have a special high quality taste and the bif houses are impressive to visit so huge and full of bottles are the places.
It was a great tour with you. Lots of fun ! and tastings :)
See you soon in Champagne !

Stephan and his wife Priscilla made us feel like one of the family. After an on time pickup at our Reims hotel, Stephan drove us to his home for a wonderful breakfast with varied choices prepared by Priscilla. We are extremely glad we opted to visit two smaller independent champagne houses for private tours and tastings because of the personal attention we received. Between tastings we had a picnic lunch, again prepared by Priscilla, under an arbor with a vineyard view. Again, there were many courses featuring wonderfully prepared local French delicasies. And, no shortage of delicious champagne. Stephan speaks very good English and drives carefully. He had extensive knowledge of the region, it's history and the history of champagne making which he shared throughout the day. Of the hundreds of tours and excursions we have taken over the last 12 years in 40+ countries around the world, this ranks as one of the best.

Thank you David. We had a wonderful day with you, your brother and 2 wifes. We try to organise the tour as we would do it for friends : informative but funny with surprises ! With private day tour, we had time to visit 2 totally different vinemakers and to make discover some local food specialities.
I'm very proud to be one of your best tour of hundreds ! Thank you :)

This was an incredible experience. Stephane is a charming and knowledgeable host, he made us feel immediately comfortable. His English is excellent, he translated easily between the champagne makers and us, so we could ask questions to learn about the process for each producer. The 2 producers he chose to take us we incredibly generous with their time and knowledge. We not only were able to see the facilities where the grapes are processed, we walked in the vineyards and sampled grapes from the vine. And the producers he chose offered gorgeous champagnes at very affordable prices. There is NO WAY we could have had this experience on our own. I would highly recommend this adventure, it was the highlight of our trip, we loved it.

What a great day we had ! You were lucky to come the time we still have grappes we can taste. It's funny to taste the grappes and try to refind it in the taste of the Champagne. I'm happy you've enjoyed our conversation, stories and vists. As you write, the prices of the small producers are very affordable and so tasty ! Thank you for your great review. See you soon.

Bonjour Stephane,
We are very interested in doing a Champagne wine tour with you in March of this year. Our group will be traveling from Paris and includes me, my husband and our twin 9-year-old boys. We have used a local private guide in Italy before and it was absolutely fantastic! We have been very anxious to return to Reims once again and use a local private guide this time. We are interested in visiting smaller producers and shipping Champagne back home to the US. We are also wondering how well this tour will work with having our boys along? Also, how long will our day? Should we consider getting a hotel in Reims at the end of the day versus going back to Paris. I thank you in advance for answering my questions! Merci beaucoup! Janet
Written February 5, 2020
Hello Janet.
Thank your for your message. I hope I'll be as good as your Italian guide. Be sure I'll do my best.
This is the perfect experience to visit small.producers, taste their champagne and choose the Chalpagnes you want to be shipped.
The day tour is 7 to 8 hours. We can adapt it depending on your goals and your family :).
A train leaves Paris at 8:30am arriving at 9:15. You can take a back train at 5:15pm arriving in Paris at 6:00pm and have a nap during the ride :) or I can recommend you hotels if you perfer to stay in Reims. Or even one more half day tour if you want to quickly discover the city and her 800yo Cathedral.
What are your dates ?
I'm looking forward to making you discover the champagne with your family.
Best regards.
Stephane

Bonjour
Your tour sounds lovely and we look forward to it
We would like to book in February but have a question. Will the vineyards ship to the USA and do you have any idea of shipping cost
Merci
Written November 29, 2019
Hello ! Thank you for the compliment. I'm happy to make my guests happy too :)
The delivery is possible to the USA depending in the States local law. In most of them it's possible, in few of them there are restrictions. The price decreases with the quantity of bottles. With the low price of the bottles of champagne (directly from the cellar) when you add the shipping cost it's still cheaper than buying in the US. Cheers !
