- 615jenseny0 contributionsDONT JOIN!!! TRUST ME!I have been to cheaper and better wine tour. I came with my wife on our 2 week vacation, and this is by far the worst paid tour. Here is why… Misleading pictures on website and poor experience: 1. No explanation of wine making, storage, aging, bottling, barrel and etc. 2. Guide was not enthusiastic, I.e., he would hardly talk in car/ winery (which we spent most of the time in the car). 3. No tour to the wine making and storage facilities. 4. Too hard sale in each tastings (only 2 by the way) 5. No tour to vineyard of the 2 tasting.Written August 21, 2024

Our guides Thomas and Leonie are very experienced and passionate and willing to share their knowledge about wines. We enjoyed the tour lead by them and my kids loved them very much. Will definitely recommend to join their tour especially Thomas.Written June 19, 2024

Vans were clean. Child booster seats, drinking water were prepared, and driving was safe (most would take these for granted). Interesting, educational and interactive commentary and they were systematic with information dissemination. - WorldFlier220 contributionsWine Tasting near DijonI've been on 2 tours like this and have always liked them. It's a small group where you get to know some people from around the world and visit a couple of nice wineries while learning about the area, the wineries themselves and ultimately the wine. This experience was similar but worse for a couple of reasons. Starting with the positives: The van that held the 6 of us was relatively comfortable and the ride from each location wasn't very long. The wineries themselves were excellent. They included great viewing areas of the winery, a quiet and dedicated place to try the different wines, for one of the wineries there was a guide who was very helpful and informative, and at each winery we tried 6 different wines. The last wine that we tried was a $200+ bottle, which was exquisite. The negative of the trip mainly had to do with the guide. He was extremely nice but unfortunately: while driving and describing what we were going to see and reviewing the history of the area, he did not talk loud enough at all to hear. So for 2+ hours of total driving we missed everything that he was talking about, which I consider a huge negative. We were in the 3rd row and the rattling of the van's cargo area coupled with his quiet talking made it frustrating. Secondly, while we did the wine tastings, he gave us little feedback as to his thoughts on the wine or any real insight into the wine that we were drinking, which was also a major negative. So, overall, great wineries and wine, but get in the first row of the van and make sure the guide is experiencedWritten June 2, 2024

- M8404MRjamesn0 contributionsA Most Memorable Two Days of Burgundy Wine TouringTo visit the wine growing regions of Burgundy (Chablis & Cote du Beaune) has been on our bucket list forever. I researched a number of tour operators suggested by our hotel concierge, and opted for Authentica. Our two days of touring exceeded all expectations thanks to our most knowledgeable and passionate guide, Antonin. We saw and encountered a lot, and never felt rushed or hustled. This was the ultimate Burgundy wine experience because of Antonin's tireless efforts and his ability to select a wide range of wineries to create the perfect experience. We came away from these two days of touring with a whole new outlook and appreciation for this part of France and the wine which is produced there. Thank you, Antonin.Written May 31, 2024

- travellinglight20240 contributionsA must!I really enjoyed this tour with Pierre and Authentica Tours. Pierre was a very knowledgeable and passionate guide. Both of the tastings were wonderful experiences and the hosts at the caves were excellent. I tasted some of the best wines I've ever had in my life. I am truly in awe of the magic of Burgundy wines! My only suggestion is that it would be good to receive an email confirmation/reminder from Authentica Tours a day or two before the tour. Most of the hotels and tours that I have booked in France provide this, so I was a little concerned that I hadn't heard from Authentica the day before the tour and reached out by email. I received a prompt reply that my tour was confirmed, and the email also provided helpful photos and information about the meeting place, so I was reassured. However, I would prefer to receive the confirmation email rather than initiating the contact myself, and I had not previously received the meeting place information. Overall, a great experience, thank you very much Pierre and Authentica!Written May 16, 2024

- jonwesterhout0 contributionsDon't miss thisThe entire trip was amazing. Beautiful sites and excellent wine. Our tour guide Antonne was amazing. He was very friendly and extremely knowledgeable. Have been on wine tours around the world and this was the best, in part to the area and history and the wine but also in large part to our guide. One tip, bring cash as you will likely want to tip your guide but some wineries will offer a small cash discount.Written May 2, 2024

The trip was very enjoyable. Our guide, Hubert, was so knowledgable about Burgundy's history and wine culture and we felt he is really passionate about it. He took us on a tour through the wine villages along the Route des Granc Crus, and we learned a lot about how the wines are cultivated and about the differences between the various vineyard locations. Very recommendable for anybody who wants more than just a bit of wine tasting,

Meeting the local tour guide Emmanuel with his wide and intimate knowledge of the area and his passion for wine was an unexpected bonus.
We learned so much more than just about the wines of the area - geography, geology, history, viticulture, oenology, sociology all rolled into one interesting and rewarding experience.
Highly recommend for anyone who wants to learn more about the food and wine of the area.

This was a nice mix of touring the vineyard, learning how hands-on the wine-making process is in the fields, learning about how the vineyards are split between different owners, and how the vines are pruned. We drove through different wine-making communities, walked through a castle where monks used to make wine, and then did a tasting. It was an informative and relaxing day.

Betty and I were the only two on this tour ( Half Day Tour Charm), which made it quite special. Our guide Hubert was prompt in attending the ’ red telephone box’ . meeting point in Dijon. He was very courteous with a pleasing personality. He received us warmly and immediatly commenced his informative tour. We were impressed with his knowledge as he took to different areas explaining the production the grapes. In the tastings he appeared very knowledgable of the variety. We enjoyed our own hour walking tour of Beaune. His driving was safe and comfortable. We will highly recommend this tour.

Spent an afternoon with Laurent who was friendly and knowledgeable. It was a great overview to the region and its wines with a touch of commercialism. We did purchase wines to be shipped home as there were many of high quality to choose from. Great experience.

My fiance surprised me for my 30th birthday with a day trip to Dijon and a half-day wine tour with Authentica. We had a great time on this tour and learned a lot about Burgundy Winemaking. The Wines were incredible! We bought some to take home with us. We even got the opportunity to stand in a vineyard and learn about the way the vines are pruned and trained. Based on all of this, I would have given this tour a solid 5 stars and would gladly recommend it to anyone.
Our tour guide was a fantastic English speaker and very responsive to our questions. However, he made upwards of 6 or 7 discouraging comments (disguised as jokes or innocent comments) about women. He even apologized to me at one point and said he was just kidding. Later in the trip, he made another comment that made the entire group feel uncomfortable, one person saying "ok last one!" One example of his comments: "My only problem with this wine is that it was made by a woman." No one thought these jokes were funny and was clearly making guests uncomfortable. If he can't be more respectful of women, he shouldn't be running tours.

We had a fantastic first encounter with this incredible region and we live it as the first of many. One of the reasons was Antonin who was a passionate ambassador full of knowledge, positive energy, and capacity to listen and to adapt the tour to the particulars of the group. It was fun from beginning to end and we could not have felt in better hands.

Our guide was very good and knowledgeable, knew a lot about the region, the wine, the food. But this is not a wine tour, as there was only one short tasting, and then hours of driving by rows upon rows of grand cru vineyards. We saw 24 grand cru alone, or so she was saying.. I cannot visually tell the difference from a moving car what quality of grape is being grown. We drove through charming villages, and pretty landscapes, and visited an old monastery. So if that's what you're wanting, this tour is absolutely perfect. If you want to taste some wines, book something else.

Hi. I have a couple of questions ... one of the reviewers writes:
"After finishing our first tasting, we drove into Cote de Beaune where we were treated to a second tasting at a private winery in the village of Beaune." Can you please tell me the name of that winery? We plan to stay in Beaune and I wouldn't want to duplicate a visit to that winery earlier in the week. Also, can you please tell me what is included in this 4 1/2 hour tour that is not included in the 3 hour tour? Thank you so much.
