Bourgogne Evasion Beaune - Don't go anywhere else for a bike rental!
Bourgogne Evasion for bike rentals - Absolutely 5-star-plus service and bikes. We booked months ahead for two bikes for four days. We arrived in the middle of a holiday weekend. The place was swamped with avid cyclists, but the staff were handling it all with great efficiency and in good humour. Our bikes were top of the line, smooth riding, comfortable, and no mechanical problems whatsoever. Very flexible allowing us to replace the regular bike with an e-bike for my wife on short notice for a couple of days. Great off-road bike paths through lovely countryside. With good advice from one of the staff, I had a perfect day on the back roads up in the hills. A magical experience made easy by the friendly and helpful staff at Bourgogne Evasion. - Gord Stewart, New Zealand

Great day of biking in Burgundy Wine Country
We chose the all day ride of 7 hours and wish it could have lasted another 7 hours. It was a fantastic experience with 14 of us in our group from all over the world. Our guide, Val, was absolutely amazing. He was extremely knowledgeable about wine, the region, patient and humorous, as well as spoke great English. We loved him. The fall weather and color in the vineyards couldn’t have been more perfect. The scenery was stunning riding through small French Villages and the vineyard stops and winery tastings along the way were great. Our stop for lunch was in a beautiful local restaurant with a lot of atmosphere serving us 3-courses of local cuisine as we dined al fresco. This experience was probably the absolute highlight of our three weeks in France. The day was well organized with great bikes and great people. Being an all day trip, we elected to use the EV bikes. Others in our group who didn’t remarked afterwards they wished they had. It’s primarily an easy ride but a lot of pedaling even if you’re a good rider. The EV’s are less effort for us. This was truly a wonderful, unforgettable day with Val and the rest of our great group. Just do it!

The bike tour with our guide Erik was fun, and informative. Erik knows the art of winemaking and presents the information well with a touch of humor. Great bike tour!

      Cycling Through Beaune's Beauty
Exploring Beaune by bike with Valentin as our guide was an absolute delight! Valentin's extensive knowledge of the city's history, culture, and hidden gems added a unique dimension to our tour. Riding through the charming streets and picturesque vineyards of Beaune was an unforgettable experience. Valentin's passion for the region's wine and cuisine was evident as he introduced us to some of the finest local flavors. His friendly and informative commentary made the tour not only enjoyable but also educational. We left with a deeper appreciation for Beaune and its rich heritage, thanks to Valentin's expert guidance. If you're visiting Beaune and want to discover its beauty and secrets, I highly recommend joining a bicycle tour with Valentin!

Fantastic full day guided tour 😍
Despite the cost , this was an amazing experience & one we were very pleased we chose . The host Eric, was fantastic , extremely knowledgeable and had a great sense of humour and was a very experienced tour guide. We did the full day tour , our group was 13 people. The route (through amazing countryside!) , tastings (11 in total) and lunch were all top notch. Would definitely recommend.

Great fun and an education for Aussie wine novices
We did the full day tour guided by Eric and thoroughly enjoyed the great scenery, beautiful wines and knowledge passed on by our guide. And we took home some lovely Premier Cru as a reminder of our memorable day.

If you use them, go in person
Unfortunately part of our party didn’t have a great experience. The planning aspect was very easy. Since we were staying 20 minutes outside of Beaune, we ordered delivery of our bikes (which is quite expensive (€120 for the 4 bikes) but we felt it was worth the convenience). Emails and online booking easy. When they were delivered, it turned out that one of our party’s bike didn’t fit her even though I had specifically emailed ahead about her small size. She tried to make it work but ultimately didn’t feel safe. We called to the office to see if a smaller bike could be obtained. First call, she was placed on hold for 10 minutes, then hung up on. She called again and the woman who was at the desk didn’t speak English and was not helpful. I still had the WhatsApp from the nice man who delivered the bikes so we texted him. They were willing to deliver another bike but it would not be until an hour later (while the rest of us had already started biking) and were unwilling to drop her off with the bike to where we were waiting (which was a town on the way back to their office in Beaune!). Ultimately, with the back and forth she decided it was too much trouble and I called the front desk to tell them to not bring the new bike. I speak French, the woman at the desk put me on “hold” for 10 minutes, meanwhile I’m able to hear them giving excellent customer service to the people in the office. When she finally came back to the phone, she was unfriendly and not caring. I think the company is a good one but don’t use the delivery service, go in person so they don’t ignore you and make you low priority. When I asked for at least a partial refund on a bike and deliver fee that was not used at all, they declined. I understand, it’s business, but at least make some effort at service recovery on a very bad day for my friend.

I don’t understand what I’m supposed to write here
I’m a 50 year old dad traveling with 2 teenage daughters. Decided to take them on an e-bike tour for both education and to get them off their phones. They could try to be on phone, but then would probably crash into a grape bush. We all very much enjoyed the experience and our guide Cedric was great.

      An excellent ride with Charlene
We enjoyed the bike tour so much. Our guide was Charlene, she incredibly knowledgeable, pleasant, and kind. The weather was slightly overcast, but the views were magnificent nonetheless.

      10/10, 5 stars, 100% worth it
What an amazing tour. Eric (our guide) was friendly and very knowledgeable. You begin at the top of a picturesque limestone cliff and much of the trip is downhill or flat. There are two uphill climbs that are very manageable. We were walked through the different wines of Bourgogne (Burgundy), the different plots, producers, and classification of wine. Appropriate for people new to wine or aficionados. Lunch was in a private room in a wonderful local restaurant. It was a three course meal and were paired it from a regional Fixin wine (delicious). Eric helped the group pick a great bottle at an adorable price. Both of the producers we visited have tours of their cellars which was very interesting. The tastings were wonderful and we had regional, Village, and 1st cru wines. You can buy and/or ship the wine if you’d like. Of all the things in Burgundy, this was by far our favorite. Worth the day, worth the price, worth the pedaling. We did not need an e-bike but it is an option if you’d like to take it a little easier. 10/10, 5 stars, 100% worth it.

      The best experience in Burgundy
We want to thank our guide, Charlene, who made this day so special. Of course riding thru vineyards and tasting wines was fabulous! We had to duck into a little ancient stone hut in the heart of Saint Aubuin as the wind and rain were horrendous. Within a few moments, sun came out and we enjoyed the rest of our biking day. So memorable, educational and thoroughly the best part of our wine tasting trip!!

Best thing you will do in Dijon
We had so much fun biking through Burgundy! The bikes were E bikes which made it so easy. Matthieu gave us a list of places to stop and things to see. One caveat, he told us to stop at Phillipe Le Clerc winery which we did. I would recommend stopping to see it and maybe doing a tasting, but do NOT buy from them. It has now been two months and my wine has not shipped. They will not respond to any communication so it appears I am out $500.

Learning about appellation of wine under a tree next to the cliffs of Saint Romain , then freewheeling through the cutest villages and stunning vineyards. Also lunch at a high end restaurant , and more wine tasting ( including at a 6 generational family vineyard who still make wine by the cycle of the moon) . Our guide , Theo was superb.

We had such a great time on this trip! We did the half day (3 hour) trip, leaving from Beaune. Theo was our guide. He was knowledgeable and friendly. The four of us were paired with one other couple, and we opted for the electric bikes--do this!! It is more expensive but so worth it to just zoom on through the countryside without getting worn out. We biked through the fields of grape vines, learned about the classifications of Burgundy wine, learned how to read the wine bottle labels, and visited a winery before biking back to Beaune. Lovely trip, great guide. Highly recommend!

Five of us booked this tour as an introduction to the wines of the area. On arrival we were each given a suitable bike for our range of sizes. All the bikes were in good condition and bags were available for water bottles etc. our guide for the afternoon was Charlene who introduced herself and gave a brief description of what we were going to do. Within ten minute we were cycling along quiet roads out into the vineyards. We made several stops where Charlene explained different aspects of wine production. At the stop in Volnay Charlene produced a bottle of Aligote from her bag and glasses for all 9 guests for the first tasting. We then cycled back to Pommard to visit Domaine Coste-Caumartin where we tasted five of their delicious wines. It was then an easy ride back to base. Both Charlene and her associate Sophie at the domaine gave clear and educational talks in good English. We left feeling we had learned a lot and that the tour represented good value. Thank you ladies!

We had a very fun an educational ride through the vineyards and small towns around Beaune with a group of 4 couples. We enjoyed meeting a local wine maker and tasting a variety of wines. The bikes were great and the touring route would be suitable for all cyclists. Tour guide kept us entertained with all sorts of history and details about wine making in Burgundy.

We booked a private bike tour with our two children (10 & 8) from Beaune. It was a hot day but our guide was careful not too go to fast and mindful of keeping our kids safe at all times. Julie was very knowledgeable about the region, wines and area and we thoroughly enjoyed the trip. At the end, my younger son was tired and had a fall. Julie quickly made arrangements so that she could drive back to pick him up. I would definitely book again.

We can’t say enough positive things about this tour. We had Theo who was amazing! His knowledge of wine, history, culture and his pride and passion of French wine and culture was inspiring. It was a relaxed day, but don’t be mistaken you are pedaling for 17 miles throughout the day. We had an enjoyable meal in a small restaurant in one of the towns. And we rode through some of the most beautiful countryside and towns with buildings from the 11th Century. If you can’t pedal all day we suggest getting electric bikes, I borrowed one for one hill and it was a blast! And if you don’t know how to ride a bike I would not book the full-day tour maybe a half-day would be more your speed. We highly recommend this tour!

This was absolutely spectacular & one of the best days of our vacation. We upgraded to e-bikes & while you still work on these bikes the hills were so much easier. Our guide Pail was lovely & knowleadgable and so was Corrine! This is a carefully thought out ride for people of all levels but get the e-bike it’s $35 extra euros & worth it!!

    Fantastic !
We booked a day tour with them towards the end of June 2021. Because it was a Tuesday and probably because France just re-opened after the Covid lockdown, we were the only customers and basically had a private tour! Our guide, Theo, was awesome. He is a knowledgeable, friendly and very approachable local of the region, and his tour exceeded our expectations. We both learned a lot about wine and wine making, got some cool anecdote about castles and the history of the region. We both would recommended this company to anyone who wants to enjoy a leisurely (mostly downhill) bike ride while drinking a perfect amount of excellent premier cru and other local wine, meet the makers and discover the region.

Such an awesome and memorable experience. Chaipène was a knowledgeable and energetic guide. Most of us hadn't rode a bike in a while and she took care of us. Wether it was lending her electric bike to a member needing assistance or providing first aid she was amazing. Although I don't drink much wine I would do it again in a second, highly recommend this experience

We loved our experience with Charlene! She was a great guide and host. We don't drink so we didn't know what to expect on a bike ride through the burgundy vineyards. It was magical. Charlene had the perfect amount of activity with stops among the way to educate us on the history of the region and the heritage of the Burgundy wines. On the way back we ran into a couple who only rented the bikes without Charlene as a guide and they wish they would have had her with them! Would highly recommend booking her as a guide. It made a special experience magical.
