- tmoak0 contributionsPerfect introduction to the wines of MédocWe have been drinking wine for forty years but most have been from California and other states on the west coast. We have long deferred learning about French wines but have been curious to learn more for some time. We splurged for an all-day tour of three Médoc wineries with Nicolle Croft. We were very glad that we did. Nicolle specializes in finding, as the name says, small independent producers of excellent and reasonably priced wines. We were delighted to try them and brought some home. She's extremely knowledgeable about the wines of France and their makers. When we return we will book another tour with her.Written May 25, 2024
- OregonLyon0 contributionsAnother Great Day, Tasting in the Medoc!A couple days after St Emilion with Nicolle, we had Emanuele show us the Medoc. Great knowledge and service skills, fun tastings and an amazing lunch! We're so thankful she could drop us off way down in Cadillac.Written May 22, 2024
- SonomaWineCat0 contributionsA must do for wine loversLoved the quaint countryside. Recommend booking a driver or tour if at all possible as the wineries/chateaus are spread out on the left bank and hard to get to unless in a vehicle.Written May 12, 2024
- Vic_C8880 contributionsCan't get a better experience than Nicole's Bordeaux SIP TourI came to know about Nicole through a blog, and took the chance to book a private tour for me & my wife around St. Emillion and Pomerol. It was by far the best decision we made. Nicole picked us up at the place we stayed in, and that whole day we spent with her going through the chateaus, the stories of vineyards, the conversation about wine and insights about Bordeaux gave us an experience that wonderfully unforgettable. We met a guide in the morning and found new friend as our day ended. Definitely recommend Nicole if you want to experience a real, unfiltered Bordeaux wine tour. Thank you Nicole!Written December 15, 2023
- molly123240 contributionsAbsolutely perfect - thanks NicolleWe booked (four of us) for 2 weekdays with Nicholle in November. It was absolutely fantastic. We’ve been fortunate to go on wine tours in other places and I would say this was the best! She was able to book our one vineyard request the other 5 we left to her (3 each day) and we were really delighted with her choice - it was all very informative and interesting too. Don’t hesitate - get in touch with her and she’ll do her best! Read her book (Sip by SIP) and you’ll get an idea of her breadth of knowledge.Written November 18, 2023
- alandT1938ML0 contributionsA wonderful luxury vineyard experienceSuper luxurious, pricey, but worth every penny. A very private vineyard tour - literally my wife and I and our guide for the day. Our guide, Aurelian, collected us from our hotel first thing. An ex Bordeaux wine merchant, his knowledge of all things Bordeaux and all things wine was sensational. Driving in his comfortable car we set off for the less well known corner of Bordeaux. First to Graves, home of some particular Bordeaux reds, but also some very unusual but excellent dry whites. Part of Bordeaux, but very specifically their own area too. A wonderful chateau visit with Emily at a smaller chateau (30k bottles in a good year) - massively knowledgable, a great tour and some really informative samples to taste to help educate these two novice rosbifs! A wonderful experience. On to chateau two which happened to have a beautiful restaurant attached. Stopped for lunch with our guide and carried on the conversation of the day. Chateau 2 and 3 of the day were down in Sauternes. As fairly recent converts to the joy of good dessert wine, this was absolutely fascinating. The differences in vintages, different blends, in how long the bottle had aged, in different vineyards and areas of the same vineyard a few hundred yards apart, and in different winemakers approaches were startlingly illustrated. Absolutely fascinating and educational. A great tour - the passion of the owner of the business comes through loud and clear, and in Aurelian she has a wonderful person to share his knowledge. A very full day out - not cheap at all, but you cannot beat the experience of being the centre of attention, especially if a bit worried about getting caught up in a bigger tour with experts or wine bores. Wonderful.Written October 14, 2023
- Jackiestone10 contributionsBest wine day which was personalized! We had the most wonderful personal day. Everything was customized to our liking- Nicolle arranged the best combination of a day in St Emilion - from large Chateaus to a tiny family owned Chateau. Our guide Emmanuelle was fabulous. She explained the region, the terroir and was wonderful and FUN! They arranged a small local lunch that was overlooking a beautiful vineyard. We can’t wait to come back to do the other region.Written September 30, 2023
- V6807BLrichards0 contributionsBordeaux Wine TourThis was one of the best private tours we have ever had. We travel to lots of places and we have never had a better guide nor been treated to such a personal tour. We visited 3 different wineries and experienced the wonderful world of Bordeaux wines and it’s history. A must tour for you in the Bordeaux area.Written June 17, 2023
- RPWilson0 contributionsTwo hugely enjoyable and educational days with SIP ToursFound out about Nicolle Croft and SIP Tours from a friend who had done a wine tour of the Bordeaux area with her some years back. Since she is a partner in her and her mate's vineyard and has been doing this for many years, Nicolle is incredibly knowledgable and really enjoys sharing her extensive knowledge of the Bordeaux wine regions, vineyard management and making superb wine. Though she has lived in the Bordeaux region for decades she is originally English so there are no communication problems. We spent 2 days with Nicolle and SIP Tours, learned more than we would have dreamed possible and could not have been happier with our experience.Written June 11, 2023
- andrewdS2797CE0 contributionsMedoc and St. Emilion toursNicolle was wonderful. I can’t recommend her enough, she was friendly and knowledgeable. Having lived in the area for 30+ yrs, she knew the place and the people like the back of her hand. She was also very accommodating. We had booked the Medoc tour and the St. Emilion tour back-to-back but I got very sick (had a dodgy meal in Bordeaux) and we couldn’t go. She very kindly rescheduled our tour at a moment’s notice and her tour of St. Emilion was every bit as interesting and fun as the Medoc tour. You won’t get a better guide.Written April 19, 2023
- way9690 contributionsTour Bordeaux with your New Friend NicolleMy wife and I, along with a couple of our friends from the United States, hired Nicolle for two days of wine touring in the Médoc and Saint-Emilion and were blown away by the experience! As soon as we got into her car at our hotel in Bordeaux, she dove right into an hour-long discussion about the intricacies of Bordeaux wine classifications, terroir, and winemaking styles that set the stage for our day in the Médoc. At each of the locations we visited, it was clear to us that Nicolle has successfully built respectful relationships with the domaines she visits with clients. This was the case both in the Médoc, as well as in Saint-Emilion. Additionally, we shared a charming lunch with her on both days, and as she is the local expert, let her make the choice when it came to choosing the wine to drink with our meals. Over the course of the two days we shared with her we learned a lot about the region, its wine trade, and shared a lot of laughs. She's a great brand ambassador for the region and will give you a unique perspective into small, independent producers. If you're looking for someone who can give you insider information and help you find great value for your money in Bordeaux wines, then she's your woman! Having done private guided wine tours in most of France's great wine regions, I can say Nicolle is premier cru classé (book a tour with her and you'll understand how high a compliment that is!) in the wide guiding universe!Written November 8, 2022
- iamnern0 contributionsAwesome! Highly recommendedMy friends and I spent one day with Henry(Nicolle Croft / SIP team) in the left bank. We went to 4 Château with of wine tasting at 3 places. He also recommended one of the best Grand Cru white wine I've ever tried at our lunch. Our wine tour experience was awesome! Highly recommended to anyone who loves wines.Written October 16, 2022
- GRC1750 contributionsNicole is the Best. Highly recommendedWe spent 2 days with Nicolle on both the left bank and right bank. We learned so much. We witnessed the rise and fall of Vintners, heard the stories behind the classements and Grand Cru appellation. r Nicolle was incredibly lovely, gracious, wonderful and patient. She knew all the winemakers & the staff at the wineries. We requested small properties to avoid the tour buses and crowds. we learned of the vagaries of the weather ,the molds, the importance of the different soils, minerals, and biodynamic techniques.Written October 7, 2022
- Julia T0 contributionsIncredible! Don’t miss it!I am writing this review 3 years after the fact but forgot to do it at the time and just remembered and wanted to share our delightful experience. My family had the pleasure of touring St. Emilion with Veronica on the Nicolle Croft / SIP team. We still talk about the amazing time we had with Veronica and at the various vineyards we experienced. I cannot recommend this tour and guide enough! It’s not to be missed!Written October 7, 2022
- marks170 contributionsFirst class private tourWe spent a day with Nicolle in the Medoc Region doing a private tour with lunch and three tastings. I can't recommend this highly enough and it was a really special day from start to finish. Nicolle's infectious knowledge and the warmth and hospitality we encountered in the vineyards made the day especially memorable and I know a lot more now about the area and the wines as a result.Written September 27, 2022

Spending the day with Nicole visiting the Saint-Emilion area was one of the highlights of our month long trip to France. Nicole was able to share her extensive knowledge, experience and enthusiasm in a most engaging manner. Stopping in Saint-Emilion in the early morning before the crowds arrived was much appreciated. The three wineries we visited were varied with each offering an unique window into their world. What all three shared was the passion and enthusiasm of the presenter. In each case the person was extremely involved in the actual wine making process unlike some winery tours. We of course tasted some amazing wines. Nicole's choice for lunch was perfect. If you are looking for a professional, enriched but personal experience I highly recommend Nicole Croft and SIP Wine Tours.

My wofe and I had a wonderful experience with Nicolle Croft. She truly knows wine and is extremely knowledgeable about the St Emilion appellation. It seems she knows everyone in the village!! Everywhere we went, she was saying hello to people. She knows how to expose you to the small, independent providers that you may not have heard of otherwise. She taught us about the land and the difference in the various geography in St Emilion, as well as some of the challenges that the Chateau owners face. Anyone wanting to visit St Emilion should have their wine tasting organized by Nicolle.

We had the wine lover's dream tour with Nicole - personal, warm, welcoming, and informative, with her depth of knowledge of the wines, the terroir, the people, the history of the region and the domains. It could not have been nicer. She made every minute special, starting with an overview tour around the area to give us beautiful views and a context for the wines, and followed it with well-chosen visits to several chateaux. Everyone at our stops knew and respected her for herself and her knowledge - we felt very much part of the inner circle. She planned our lunch at one of the best restaurants in Saint Emilion, part of a delightful, memorable day.

Nicolle is very knwoledgebale when it comes to wine and all the good places around Saint Emilion. We discovered hidden gems, gorgeous chateaux of small producers, that make amazing wine and have beautiful stories.
Nicolle took great care of us and made sure we have an charming, unforgettable trip, even during these difficult Covid times. The whole day was a beautiful discovery about the Saint Emilion's wine taste and culture.

It is the people that make a day special and with over 30 years of experience here in Bordeaux, these wonderful passionate wine producers have become my friends. We have to adapt to these new conditions and it is easy when you know the best people, places and wines off the beaten path. Such fun! Come again soon, there is so much to explore.

Stumbling upon Nicolle’s SIP Tour was easily the standout experience of our time in Bordeaux. We came to Bordeaux without a tour planned, but after a call with Nicolle, we were confident we’d found the experience we were looking for. We were impressed by her relatable knowledge, humor, organization, and professionalism. However, it’s impossible to properly account for all the nuances that made our time together so extraordinary, so you’ll just have to book for yourself. We still follow Nicolle on Instagram to have a view into an incredible region and as a reminder of a fun, funny, beautiful day. Thank you, Nicolle.

Despite Sunday being a difficult day to arrange wine tours, Nicolle was able to put together an excellent private tour for me and my wife. Kim was our guide and did a great job, sharing her local expertise (she's married to a winemaker from a multi generational family in the area), taking us around the area which put it all in context and giving us some terrific insights into winemaking and viticulture in St Emilion.

This was a GREAT day! Nicolle picked us up at the dock in Libourne on her birthday (!) and we just had a BLAST touring and tasting with her. She knows everything and everyone! The lunch she arranged was AWESOME! Very flexible in setting our 2 days up, paying attention to our "faves". I cannot recommend her highly enough.

Nicole is amazing! The experience we had on both days in Medoc and then St Emilion far exceeded our expectations. She knows wine and had all the connections in the region to make the tours superb. We had four people in our small group, some with significant wine knowledge and others with very little - Nicole was able to keep it simple for those without much experience and really take the experts in the group even further in their learning experience. We will cherish the experience and will likely return!

5 star day with Emmanuel. My husband and I and Emmanuel visited three chateau’s, each getting better than the last. We walked around St Emilion which is charming. Purchased a few things, always fun. We had an amazing lunch on a beautiful outside terrace in the countryside. We were celebrating our 33rd year wedding anniversary and a glass of champagne was a nice gift. The food, service and setting were fabulous! I would highly recommend this private tour for a wonderful day in wine country!

We had the best time in Bordeaux! We did two days, one on left and one on right bank. Each châteaux that was picked was perfection. We had Fred as our tour guy and he made the trip, so so well informed! Loved that Nicolle mixed big chateaux’s with some smaller ones as well!
