Highlights
Visit wine chateaux in Medoc, St-Emilion, or Sauternes
Two wine tastings: sample a variety of red, white, or rosé wines
Guided tour: Learn more about the French winemaking process
Convenient round-trip transport from Bordeaux
What to expect
Meet your group and guide in central Bordeaux and travel by air-conditioned coach to explore the wine regions of Medoc, St-Emilion, or Sauternes (depending on the day). Along the way, listen as your guide explains the history of French winemaking and the wines that put Bordeaux on the map. Hear about different grapes, the importance of “terroir,” and the seemingly complex classification system that includes grand cru, premier cru, and AOC. During the tour, stop at two different wineries or wine chateaux, where you have the chance to stroll the vineyards and explore the underground wine cellars. At each winery, enjoy a guided wine tasting and sample a selection of red, white, or rosé wines. Based on your preferences, your guide can help recommend other varietals you might enjoy. Your tour ends back in central Bordeaux.

Saint Emillion visit
Nov 2019 • Solo
Tour schedule is good, Chateau visit very professional, tourist guide so nice, English speaking very good but the tour have more 30 people, our guide need speaking in French first than in English, she talk 5 mins in french but only one mins in english, so she didn't explained details enough, especially the underground church, I known that because I visit myself before.

Chateau visit separate in two language group themselves, so much more better, the view over their is fantastic.

overpriced
Oct 2019
First half was boring and a stop at a company store, trying to stell expensive wines at a premium. Second half was informative but tasting was hardly enough to get a good, deep aroma

Half day Vineyards tour
Sep 2019 • Friends
The tour guides on each vineyard were friendly and informative. The sample was very minimum and hardly enough to taste. The guide on our bus could have been more interesting.

A perfect way to spend a morning: fun, informative and interesting
Oct 2019
We went on an a half day trip to Saint Emilion. The morning was well organised and there was enough time to really enjoy the experience. A visit to the St Emilion village, free time to wander, the winery tour and tastings plus informative conversation as you travel to and from Bordeaux. Our guide (Karim) was friendly, funny and knowledgeable. We don't usually book tours, but this one was fantastic and very well worth the time and money.

Wonderful Experience
Oct 2019
This was a really nice and well organized tour. Great selection of vineyards both large estates and small family owned ones. The people were great, the wine was amazing, and the overall experience was more than I expected.

It was a really pleasant trip to two vineyards where you learn about wine making and at the same time see the French countryside. Definite value for the money.

Not enough wine and info
Sep 2019 • Friends
Visited with my sister in September 2019.
The tour was well organized (nice & clean bus, pleasant driver and guide), everything on time.
The tour included 1,5 hrs stop at the small village next to the winery that we’ve visited, which was relaxing and nice.
However, the tour included visit of only 1 winery, which is silly, taking into account the 2 hours on the road back& forth for it.
We have only tasted 2 very similar red wines (not much of wine in the glass), and after it we returned back.
Disappointing, as for this long time spent in the bus we expected to have a trip through at least 2 wineries.

Dead Maya U, We thank you for your comment and are sorry to hear that your visit did not go as you expected. However, the excursion is exactly as you described it : visit of one château with a tasting and visit of the medieval village of Saint-Emilion, classified by the UNESCO. In this range of wine tours called « Châteaux et terroirs », all the other « appellations » include the visit of two châtreaux as written in all our documents and websites. We hope this experience won’t stop you from making another trip to Bordeaux and we would be happy to welcome you again. Best regards,

A little disappointing
Sep 2019
Perhaps I'm being a bit harsh. We chose the half-day tour of Medoc region, two vineyards--one family owned for 160 years, the other more newly established. I was hoping for an enjoyable tasting--and there was some of that, but too much repetition in between,

We departed central Bordeuax at 2 p.m. and made the long drive to the first, older vineyard. There we were met with a young woman employed by the winery as tour guide, who walked us through the facilitry, explaining maintenance of the concrete fermentation chambers, the writing on the ends of barrels, the types of grapes and the designation appelations and so forth--some of which we'd already been told by the van driver. We walked through a pretty interesting room containing the family's heirlooms--lots of ceramic figurines, old wine-stasting psaucers, a tapestry, Uo too many stairs for my old knees to see the rooftop patio--then finally down to the tasting room for a little sip of two of their blends, where I discovered that I do not like the terroir of Medoc--that is not a bad review, just a matter of personal taste, my wife thought it was fine but I thibk the acidic finish is a bit harsh.

A short drive and a stop at a secone vineyard, no tour or tasting here, just looking at the estate architecture.

Then on to the third vineyard, where their tour guide walked us through and explained again many of the things we'd heard on the previous tour--

Let's pause to note that our young female tour guides all suffered from a tendency to whisper instead of projecting the voice so our small group could hear comfortably--and the final tour guide suffered from a very bad habit of vocal fry, which she should correct for her own vocal health.

Finally a tasting of two blends from the final vineyard, confirming that Medoc is not my favoritge appellation contollee. Nice to know!

If they want to make the tour more enjoyable, perhaps think about making a video of the routine information and letting each tour be quicker--eliminating repetition and getting around faster to the tasting, which is after all the reason for the exercise.

Brief review of two vineyards with tastings. Would have liked a little more info on the process but a half day did not leave much time. Entertaining.
