Your first stop is in Mittelbergheim, where you taste Alsatian wines that might include Pinot blanc, Sylvaner and Riesling. - Tour128179613090 contributionsAn Unforgettable Experience- A day in AlsaceMaxim or Max, as we called him, was a superior guide! He told us the history of Alsace region and showed us many famous villages. We saw the village which inspired the movie Beauty and the Beast. Max also gave hints for restaurants and good wines to taste. He showed us the best views from the Castle and warned us beforehand that the journey up to and inside the castle entailed climbing 300 steps. Whew! We made it and what a view! Towards the end of the tour, Max drove up through the vineyards to reach a spectacular view of the region. Wow! While there, we picked maribellas, a delightful plum-like fruit. Max was also very caring for an elderly lady on the tour who couldn’t walk very fast. You will be very fortunate to have Max as your guide should you choose this Alsatian tour!Written July 30, 2024
- DandHfromToronto0 contributions#1 thing to do on visit to Strasbourg and AlsaceOne of the very best one-day tours we have ever taken, and #1 highlight of our visit to Alsace. Very comfy minivan for max ~6 participants. Jerôme was a guide sans pareil: so knowledgeable about wine and about history and culture of Alsace more generally. Very personable, too, and with superb English. Excellent driver, you name it. Greatly enhanced our knowledge and appreciation of Alsatian wines!Written July 23, 2024
- michelleeI1043HC0 contributionsFantastic trip to the Black ForestPauline was our tour guide into the Black Forest and our trip was absolutely wonderful. She was very knowledgeable and took her time so show us many of the little towns along the way. The views were breathtaking!!! I would highly recommend booking a tour with Pauline!!!!Written July 7, 2024

- nancygH7189GO0 contributionsFavorite tour of our trip!!My husband, college-aged son and I did a 4 hour wine tasting tour through the Alsace region with Maksym. He was on time, informative and customized the tastings to our group’s interests. He also enriched our knowledge with the deep history of wine-making of Alsace and the beautiful architecture in the area. At the end, he went out of his way to drop us off at our hotel! We would rate it a 6 star if we could! Thank you Maksym.Written July 3, 2024
- LEK1140 contributionsHighly recommend Pauline for your tour guideGreat tour of Baden Baden area and the baths, as well as a winery. Pauline was our guide and she did a great job - went above & beyond. We learned a lot about Alsace and the surrounding area from her. Highly recommend this tour and Pauline!Written June 26, 2024
- Dream5072680 contributionsAmazing and beautiful Tour -- a combination of Alsatian charm and fascinating history! Our guide Thierry was incredibly knowledgeable about the area and was so funny and convivial. We really enjoyed the insight he provided and all of his funny jokes. He even took us on a little side trip to see Ostheim, which only has one pre-WWII structure left after being bombed. It is crowned with a stork’s nest, the region's symbol of birth and new life. All of the medieval villages were picturesque and so very charming. Thierry captivated our group during the tour of the Chateau du Haut Koenigsbourg. Because he had worked as a guide there, we were treated to all of his insider knowledge. This tour was the best of all of the tours we booked for our week in France. I give this one the highest of marks!Written June 24, 2024
- Christine W0 contributionsGreat overview of AlsaceA wonderful experience of Alsace. Visits of many typical villages but plenty of time to walk around. Also visit of a castle up in the Vosges mountains past the vineyards. Our guide was Thierry who was very knowledgeable, entertaining and had boundless energy. In small groups of max 8 but everyone sits very comfortably in the Mercedes minivan (air conditioned if necessary). If you have only one day to visit Alsace (outside Strasbourg) this is the tour for you and there are plenty of opportunities to sample the famous Alsatian wines in the villages where we stop. There is something for everyone in the family on this tour (note: not suitable for wheelchairs or someone who has difficulty walking because of the cobblestones and the occasional hill and stairs)Written June 23, 2024
- corinnerY8143FP0 contributionsRecommended!Efficient and flexible tour, mixing guided tours and free time. Guide knowledgeable about history and the area, and friendly, with sense of humor and good language skills. Enjoyed exploring with other people in our small group as well. Well liked by my older teenager, who had requested to see these destinations.Written June 19, 2024

- 690gu_mundur_0 contributionsAlsace vineyards, nice day tour experience with the nice guide PaulinePauline from Ophorus was our guide, beside me and my wife there were 5 other persons in the same tour. The tour started from the Strasbourg Catherdal at 9am and returned similar place approx 5pm according to schedule. Pauline is a good driver and a nice person and guide. Her local knowledge in the Alsace area was amazing. We visited three of several local vineyards and tasted between 6 and 8 of their vines. We learned a lot about the Alsace vine production, the special landscape and the different soil conditions which mainly affects the the vine taste. We also purchased some boxes of wine, but that´s another story. Pauline gets our highest possible recommendation as a guide for the Alsace Local Villages tour.Written June 18, 2024

We were a group of seven and scheduled a four hour private tour with Ophorus. Our guide, Jerome, was excellent. None of our group have a working level of French, but during our travels around Alsace and at both of our stops, Jerome kept us completely informed and updated as we asked many questions of the two wineries we visited. One of our party is in the wine industry and Jerome had or acquired answers to all his in-depth questions. We were traveling on a river cruise and Jerome picked us up and dropped us back right at our boat’s dockage. Transportation was a very comfortable and well air conditioned eight passenger van. We had asked to visit a specific winery and had Ophorus select the other and this was handled with ease. It was a great 4-hours and Jerome is an excellent and very easy going guide. If you are interested in Alsace wines and have an open four hours while in Strasbourg, get ahold of Ophorus and ask for Jerome.

We showed up at the specified meeting point and found out that we were the only two people signed up for the tour. I appreciate that the tour operator, Ophorus, went ahead with the tour. It could not have been very profitable for them. Our guide, Jerome, was outstanding. As an experienced sommelier, he was very well versed on the subject of wines without being pretentious. We enjoyed a wonderful day visiting three wineries - some traditional and others more modern. Each winery provided some history on their business and a sampling of their wines. I learned more about wines in this tour than I have on any other. At the end of each stop, there was the opportunity to purchase some of the wines without any sales pressure. It was a little overwhelming visiting three wineries in one day. But, this tour also afforded us the opportunity to visit and have lunch and in Ribeauvillé. It was truly an enjoyable day and an educational experience.

Had a fantastic time wine tasting in the Alsace region! We went to 3 wineries. The first one was Noelle Banchert. That was probably our favorite since the wine was delicious, the tasting was outside in the backyard, and we got to meet the wine maker which was very special. The second one was slightly larger and still very delicious. We had a few hours to wander around the beautiful village of Ribeauville for lunch. Our final stop was a more modern winery that was also very nice. Our guide was extremely knowledge about the wines, how to better understand the wine labels, and the history of the region. Although I’ve been to Alsace before I hadn’t been to these wineries or the village before. They’ve already started harvest season so the wineries depend on availability. I’d highly recommend this tour of you’re in this region!

The trip was beautiful, interesting & educational. The only downside was we inly drove through small towns, no stopping to walk around and explore. The original itinerary stated we would have lunch in Riquewihr and that was the main reason I booked this particular tour, to see that village. Our tour guide took us to another village for lunch and we never visited Riquewihr. So that was upsetting.

Highly recommend. It’s been the highlight of our trip to Strasbourg. We tasted amazing wines, had beautiful scenic views along the drive, a wonderful traditional lunch as recommended in a picturesque town and we were lucky to be with a lovely group of people. Jérôme was a lovely host with a good sense of humour and was very knowledgeable about the region and the wines.

My partner and I thoroughly enjoyed the day with our guide Pauline, who was friendly, accommodating, knowledgeable and a lot of fun. The time spent at the 3 wineries was excellent where we learned about terroir and the grape varieties in the region. Highly recommend this tour.

Stefane led our Viking Tour with professionalism & historical information that enriched our experience even more. He was so friendly and told us about his family & guided us from one unique food place to another. Each tasting was so good & not rushed. He explained food histories & the proper ways to enjoy each wonderful item. He was patient & seamlessly kept us on schedule. What a great guide & experience we had!

This was a small group tour with a quality vehicle and a great guide who knew heaps about wines and the wineries we visited. Robin guided expertly through the various wine types and methods used in the area. The three wineries we visited were very different - and each opened our eyes. The village where we were given two hours for lunch and browsing was picture perfect. Highly recommend

This looks perfect for us. Is there a possibility of making a stop in Barr to the Leipp/Leininger winery for a tasting with Luc Leininger from 11am to 12pm on Monday , April 10?
We discovered we may have a family connection and have made an appointment to taste in this small spot. We would graciously go to your destinations of choice if this location could be added for an hour.
Most sincerely ,
