Get off the beaten track on a tasting tour of Alsace, home to picturesque vineyards. The region in eastern France is famous for its fairytale-like villages, but its under-the-radar wine route is another draw. On this tasting tour from Strasbourg, you learn about Alsace’s history at the crossroads of France and Germany and sample grape varieties at multiple vineyards.
  • In-depth tasting tour of Alsace's wine route
  • Round-trip transportation from Strasbourg in a luxury minivan
  • Sample tasty regional varieties of wine in cellars, wineries, and family-run estates
  • Enjoy free time for a local lunch (own expense) or explore medieval villages
What to Expect
Make your own way to central Strasbourg to meet your guide, group, and minivan for this behind-the-scenes tasting tour of Alsace’s best vineyards. Start your trip on the Alsace Wine Route Ater, a 105-mile (170-kilometer) stretch of scenic roadway at the foothills of the Vosges mountain chain. Enjoy panoramic views of vine-covered slopes and red-roofed, fairytale homes tucked into the valley. Your first stop is in Mittelbergheim, where you taste Alsatian wines that might include Pinot blanc, Sylvaner and Riesling. Next, make a stop in Dambach-la-Ville, the largest wine-producing village in Alsace, known for producing riesling and gewürztraminer, for a tasting at a wine cellar. Finally, visit Ribeauvillé and Riquewihr for your last wine-tasting session, where you learn about local growers such as the Trimbach family and Hugel family. When the tastings are done, your minivan takes you back to Strasbourg.

This company sent us several reminders in advance of our tour. On the day of the tour we were picked up in a timely manner from an easily located spot by Danielle. There were only 3 folks on our tour which made it nice. Danielle was friendly and knowledgeable about the area.
